  • Publication number: 20250064609
Abstract: A medical stent includes an expandable structure that is moveable between a collapsed configuration for delivery and an expanded configuration for deployment, the expandable structure in the expanded configuration defining a relaxed diameter. The expandable structure retains its relaxed diameter along portions of the expandable structure that are not constrained by contact with vessel walls after deployment. Portions of the expandable structure that are compressed by contact with vessel walls after deployment are caused to move to a reduced diameter less than the relaxed diameter along portions. The compressed portions of the expandable structure may help prevent plaque from breaking loose. Uncompressed portions of the expandable structure may allow blood flow therethrough.

  • Patent number: 12232696
Abstract: Various apparatuses to attach a first medical device to a second medical device are described that allow the physician to grasp only a single device while the other device remains securely attached to the one being grasped. The apparatuses, once they are attached to the first medical device, are designed to be easily and quickly attached and detached to a second medical device, normally only requiring the use of one hand. Furthermore, the apparatuses oftentimes include a base that can easily couple and decouple from the portion that is attached to the second medical device so that if the need arises to separately use the second medical device, it can be decoupled from the first medical device without completely removing the apparatus from the second medical device.

  • Publication number: 20250057394
Abstract: The cleaning valves (or valves) of the current disclosure are generally single-use devices (SUDs) and therefore disposable. Reusing SUDs can be disadvantageous, as single-use devices are not designed to be reusable. Accordingly, valves for medical devices, such as endoscopes, disclosed may be configured to transition from a first state to a second state for indication of utilization of the valve, e.g., via exposure to a valve well. The transition from the first state to the second state may prevent reuse valves of the present disclosure. In embodiments, the valve may be made from a limited number of components and materials.

  • Publication number: 20250057529
Abstract: A medical device includes a handle, a shaft, an end effector, and a wire. The handle includes a rotatable knob and a longitudinally movable spool. The shaft extends from a distal end of the handle. The end effector is coupled to a distal end of the shaft. The wire extends from the handle, through the shaft, and to the end effector. Rotation of the knob rotates the wire independent of the shaft to rotate the end effector. Distal movement of the spool moves the wire distally independent of the shaft and transitions the end effector between at least a first configuration and a second configuration. Proximal movement of the spool urges the wire proximally. Urging the wire proximally deflects a deflectable portion of the shaft in one or more directions.
