Abstract: A storage device includes a controller that determines a degree of data degradation for a data track targeted by a pending read command and sets a head/media clearance parameter for execution of the read command based on the determined degree of data degradation for the data track, the head/media clearance parameter providing for a greater head-media separation when the determined level of degradation is lower than when the determined level of degradation is higher.
Abstract: The presently disclosed technology teaches integrating disc drive electronics into a transducer head. Decreased electrical transit times and data processing times can be achieved by placing the electronics on or within the transducer head because electrical connections may be made physically shorter than in conventional systems. The electronics may include one or more of a control system circuit, a write driver, and/or a data buffer. The control system circuit generates a modified clock signal that has a fixed relation to phase and frequency of a bit-detected reference signal that corresponds to positions of patterned bits on the disc. The write driver writes outgoing data bits received from an external connection to off-head electronics directly to the writer synchronized with the modified clock signal. The data buffer stores and converts digital data bits sent from the off-head electronics to an analog signal that is synchronized with the modified clock signal.

Abstract: A homomorphic encryption system evaluates homomorphically encrypted data, including receiving ciphertext input homomorphically encrypted from a plaintext input using a set-system including sets having an intersection property. An arithmetic function is evaluated on the ciphertext input to generate a ciphertext output, the arithmetic function including one or more additive gates and one or more multiplicative gates, wherein the evaluating operation generates errors during evaluation of the arithmetic function and the intersection property of the sets cancel out the errors during the evaluating operation. The ciphertext output is transmitted for homomorphic decryption to generate a plaintext result.
Abstract: A homomorphic encryption system receives a ciphertext output of an arithmetic evaluation function. The arithmetic evaluation function is performed on a ciphertext input homomorphically encrypted from a plaintext input using a set-system including sets having an intersection property. The ciphertext output is decrypted using a summation of two or more noise-canceling party identifiers of two or more authorized parties, wherein the intersection property of the sets cancels out errors generated during the decrypting operation for the two or more authorized parties.
