Abstract: A positive orientation container and closure combination is provided. The container includes at least one flange segment having a front and a back face. The container further includes a gap defined by the front face of one of the flange segments and the back face of one of the flange segments. The closure includes a plurality of collar segments. The closure includes at least one collar segment having an engagement face to establish a positive orientation of the closure at a predetermined position.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a closure or cap for a container containing a fluid. The closure or cap is characterized in that the slotted structure comprises several pivoting plates hinged to the body in such a way as to be able to pivot; at least one pivoting plate, preferably each pivoting plate, being connected movably to a neighbouring pivoting plate via a cross section of more flexible deformation than the several pivoting plates, which forms one of the free terminal edges of the slot or slots and is, in a condition of actuation without overpressure inside the container, arranged basically contiguously with the other free terminal edge situated opposite the slot or slots and can open by pivoting away from the inside of the container when the fluid generates increased pressure inside the container, whereupon it moves away from the other free terminal edge.
Abstract: A device (10) for location at an opening to a receptacle comprises a projection in the form of a hingedly movable cutter (32) which is located on a sleeve (38) which is adapted for location at the opening of the receptacle. The device (10) also comprises a lid (12) for location at the opening including a sealed compartment (20) in the lid (12) that is positionable at the opening and a longitudinal rib (24) located inside the lid (12). In use when the lid (12) and its compartment (20) are positioned at the opening and the lid is rotated relative to the receptacle, the rib (24) is caused to act on the cutter (32) to move it into a position whereby it opens the sealed compartment (20). The movement of the lid (12) in a unidirectional rotation alone with respect to the receptacle causes both opening of the compartment (20) followed by removal of the lid (12) from the receptacle.

Abstract: A dispensing system includes a body having a base for extending from a container, and a support column projecting from the base. A discharge passage extends through the body and support column. A flexible, pressure-openable dispensing valve has a skirt mounted on the support column and has an outwardly extending, narrowing head defining a dispensing orifice at the distal end. A clamp member fits around the valve skirt and is engaged with the body to hold the body, valve, and clamp member together.

Abstract: A dispenser is provided for dispensing tablets. The dispenser generally includes a housing and a compartment. The compartment is pivotable with respect to the housing between a dispensing position and a non-dispensing position. The dispenser may also include a biasing member to bias the compartment to the non-dispensing position and a rib to resist accidental pivoting of the compartment.

Abstract: A dispensing closure system (30, 30A, 30B, 30C, 30D) is provided with a peripheral wall or closure body (32, 32A, 32B, 32C, 32D) for extending from a container. In one form of the system, at least one lid (61 or 62/61A or 62A/61B or 62B/61D or 62D) includes a latch post (130D) for being received in a latch aperture (120D) in a rim (44D) of the peripheral wall (32, 32A, 32B, 32C, 32D) to increase the opening resistance of the lid. In another form of the system, two lids (61 and 62/61A and 62A/61B and 62B/61D and 62D) are molded with the body (32, 32A, 32B, 32C, 32D) as a unitary structure, and the lids are closable over two openings (51, 52/51A, 52A/51B, 52B/51C,52C/51D,52D).

Abstract: A one-piece container closure with a collar, leaflets hingedly attached to the collar, and thin flexible foldable webs attached to and extending between the leaflets. The leaflets are flat with the webs folded beneath in closed closure position. The leaflets are pivoted upwardly with webs unfolded therebetween in open position. An integral cap is attached to the collar by a snap-action bow-tie hinge. A central pin on the cap seals with the leaflets when the cap is closed. The closure is integrally molded in open position with raised leaflets and unfolded webs, leaflets then being lowered and the webs folded to closed position while the closure is still warm.

Abstract: A one-piece container closure with a collar, stiff planar triangular leaflets attached by linear hinges to the collar, and thin flexible foldable webs attached to and extending between the leaflets. The closure is integrally molded in open position with raised leaflets and unfolded webs, leaflets then being lowered and the webs folded to closed position while the closure is still warm, the cap then being closed, and the closed closure then being annealed to establish the elastic positional memory of the leaflets and hinges in the closed position when product is not being dispensed through the closure.
Abstract: A molded article is produced by a method of compression molding employing a specially shaped billet of thermoplastic material which is positioned at a predetermined location in a predetermined orientation with respect to the mold cavity surfaces of a mold part. In a preferred embodiment, the billet has a generally egg shape and is located adjacent a mold surface defining a small mold cavity region between two larger cavity regions.

Abstract: A dispensing structure, and a package with a dispensing structure, is provided with a valve. In one embodiment, the dispensing structure is a multi-piece fitment. The multi-piece fitment includes a base for mounting to the container and a valve carrier for mounting to the base. A flexible, self-sealing slit-type valve is mounted within the carrier. In another embodiment, a fitment is mounted in the opening of a thin-walled, flexible, collapsible container, and the flexible valve is mounted in the fitment. In yet another embodiment, a package includes a container having a corner wall defining an opening, and a fitment is sealingly mounted to the corner wall at the opening. A valve is disposed within the fitment. A removable and disposable cover extends from the container over the fitment and at least a portion of the corner wall to define a hermetically sealed volume around the fitment. The cover may be pulled away from the container to expose the fitment.
