Abstract: The household electrical appliance comprises a support and a waffle-iron which pivots on the support about an axis and which has a pivot pivotally mounted on a bearing carried by the support. In the invention, the pivot is secured to a first panel of the waffle-iron and has a housing which is adapted, when the two panels are in the closed position, to receive a locking element secured to the other panel, and the bearing has an opening disposed so as to allow the locking element to pass freely for opening and closing the waffle-iron when it is in its working position, and to prevent the two panels from opening when it is in its upside-down position.
Abstract: A pressing iron having, from bottom to top, a heating soleplate, a body delimited by an envelope that contains a water reservoir, and a gripping handle connected to the body. The reservoir is provided with a vent at the rear of the iron and at the top of the reservoir, the iron is provided with an opening situated at the front of the iron above the reservoir, and the iron further has a tube connecting the vent to the opening.

Abstract: An electric household appliance for processing foods comprises a main body including an electric motor unit and its control elements, at least a working accessory comprising a tool designed to be driven by the motor unit and a safety device including a first member housed in the appliance main body and a second member connected to the accessory. The member is a transceiver and the second member is a transponder, the transceiver and transponder being designed to be inductively coupled by a radiofrequency or microwave electromagnetic field when the accessory is installed on the appliance body. Preferably, the transponder connected to the accessory comprises a power circuit derived from the electric power induced in the transponder antenna and additional safety elements for deactivating the powering circuit.
Abstract: A toaster having: a frame enclosing an open heating chamber; a bread supporting carriage mounted in the chamber and vertically movable relative to the frame, the carriage being retainable in a lowered position for toasting; an extension piece fixed to the carriage; a restoring element coupled between the frame and the extension piece for urging the carriage upwardly away from the lowered position to a first bread discharge position; and a control mechanism for controlling the position for the carriage. Abstract: Appliances for cooking food under pressure are disclosed herein. According to one embodiment, a cooking appliance comprises a vessel (1), a lid (2), at least one jaw (4) mounted to be moved by a driving device (5), and an opening/closing control device (6, 7, 8). The opening/closing control device (6, 7, 8) includes an intermediate part (7), which comprises a maneuvering device (7A, 7B) and a clutch device (7C, 19). The intermediate part (7) is mounted to turn freely so that the maneuvering device (7A, 7B) co-operates with the driving device (5). The opening/closing control device also includes a main control member (6) comprising a transmission device (6C), the main control member (6) being positioned so that the transmission device (6C) co-operates with the clutch device (7C). The main control member (6) is mounted to move in translation. Other embodiments disclosed herein are also applicable to domestic appliances for cooking food under pressure.
Abstract: A heating element for an electric appliance for heating or cooking foods. The heating element is composed of: a tubular metal envelope; and a resistance wire encased in an insulator disposed at the interior of the tubular envelope. The wire is composed of nickel and iron as the two principal elements, and has a temperature coefficient ? greater than 1500 ppm/° C. The wire may be wound in a spiral and the outer diameter of the spiral is greater than 0.7 times the inner diameter of the tubular envelope.
