Abstract: The presently disclosed method and system includes a network of computer devices, sensors, and actuators operating in concert with application software to actively detect, identify, and localize threats and generate real-time countermeasures designed to delay and/or mitigate damage that may be caused by the threats. Application software, in the form of automated reasoning and logic control, initiates preparatory and countermeasure sequences automatically, which may be used by users or automatically executed by the system to at least delay an attack to a physical asset/area by adversaries with use of non-lethal actuators. Learned scenarios are generated and continuously adapted via feedback loops and decision rules to provide preparatory and countermeasure sequences that maximize results with minimal expenditure of assets.

Abstract: Security systems and methods configured for use with an item of merchandise for retail display include a housing, at least one sensor carried by the housing and at least one output device carried by the housing. The security system further includes a controller carried by the housing and operably coupled to the sensor and to the output device. The controller is operable to determine a distance traveled by the item of merchandise from a retail display “home” position based upon a sensor input from the sensor, and to activate the output device based upon the distance traveled by the item of merchandise exceeding a threshold distance. The controller may utilize the at least one sensor in conjunction with an inertial navigation system (INS) and motion processing algorithms or techniques to determine the distance traveled by the item of merchandise from the retail display “home” position.

Abstract: A security apparatus comprises a support assembly and a keyboard retainer. The support assembly comprises a first retaining portion, a second retaining portion pivotally coupled to the first retaining portion, and a lock assembly defining a locked state and an unlocked state. The keyboard retainer comprises at least one base member pivotally coupled to the first and second retaining portions and included a top surface extending along a top surface plane, and an opposing bottom surface. The at least one base member comprises one or more securing members extending from the bottom surface of the first base, and one or more retainers extending above the top surface plane of the first and each retainer comprising a retaining member extending away from the first base.

Abstract: A centralized gateway server receives a first user request, configured to operate with a first development platform, indicating a first operation to be performed on behalf of a first user. The centralized gateway server generates a first service request for performing the first operation, and transmits the first service request to a server associated with a service, to cause the server to perform the first operation on behalf of the first user. The centralized gateway server also receives a second user request indicating a second operation. The second user request is configured to operate with a second development platform different from the first development platform. The centralized gateway server generates a second service request for performing the second operation, and transmits the second service request to the server to cause the server to perform the second operation.

Abstract: A secure element device for use in a connected device includes a first interface configured to enable communication with a communication module and a second interface configured to enable communication with an action module of the connected device. A processor coupled to the first interface and the second interface, executes a first set of computer-readable instructions, stored in a memory of the secure element device, to authenticate, via the first interface, the connected device on the communication network. The processor also executes a second set of computer-readable instructions, stored in the memory, to perform one or both of (i) obtaining, via the second interface, data from the action module, the data to be transmitted over the communication network and (ii) controlling, via the second interface, the action module to cause the action module to perform one or more operations based on an instruction received over the communication network.

Abstract: A sexual assault evidence collection kit that may be used by the victim or other non-professionals. The kit may be simplified compared to kits for professional use, and may be usable with no specialized training. Victims may therefore be able to collect evidence themselves after an assault, instead of searching for a facility with personnel trained in forensic evidence collection, and enduring a long, intrusive examination. Embodiments may include a package (for example a clear bag) and the following components inside the package: gloves, swabs, swab containers, water, evidence collection bags, evidence bag sealing tape, evidence collection tape, a permanent marker, and instructions on how to identify, collect, seal, document, and store evidence.

The merchandise security device may include a lock mechanism operably engaged with a shape memory material configured to receive electrical power for locking and unlocking the lock mechanism. Abstract: A recoil security apparatus comprises a body extending along a body axis and comprising an inner surface. The inner surface defines a plurality of surface features and surrounds a shaft extending along the body axis. A first holder is supported by the body and a second holder supported by the body. A securing member comprises an outer surface and is configured to traverse the shaft and engage the plurality of surface features. The securing member connects to the first holder at a first end and to the second holder at a second end. Rotation of the securing member in a first direction causes one of the first holder and the second holder to move in a direction away from the body. Alternatively, rotation of the securing member in a second direction causes one of the first holder and the second holder to move in a direction toward the body.

Abstract: A security apparatus for securing a portable electronic device comprises a support and a guide positioned within the support and defining a plurality of surface features. At least two holders are partially positioned between the guide and the support and define a plurality of complimentary surface features. A lock assembly is configured move between an unlocked state and a locked state. In an unlocked state, the at least two holders are enabled to move in a first direction that is away from the support and in an opposing second direction to move the at least two holders towards the support. In a locked state, the lock assembly moves the guide to clamp the at least two holders between the guide and the support to engage the surface features of the guide with those of the holders and inhibit movement of the at least two holders in the first direction.

Abstract: A merchandise security device is provided. The merchandise security device may include a housing operably coupled with a cable. The cable is configured to be extended and retracted relative to the housing and to at least partially surround an item of merchandise. The merchandise security device may also include at least one sensor operably engaged with the housing and configured to detect unauthorized movement of the housing relative to the item of merchandise. Abstract: A security apparatus for securing a piece of sports equipment includes a housing and an extension having a first end that extends from the housing and a second end this is positioned within the housing. A lock assembly includes a barrel having a first end and a second end. A lock body is positioned within the housing and is operatively coupled to the barrel. When the lock assembly is in the locked state, the first end of the extension member engages a first portion of the piece of sports equipment, the lock body engages the second end of the extension member to inhibit axial movement of the extension member to secure the first portion of the piece of sports equipment against the extension member, and the lock body extends from the housing to engage a second portion of the piece of sports equipment.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to security systems for securing an item of merchandise from theft or unauthorized removal. For example, the security system may include a sensor configured to be coupled to the item of merchandise, wherein the sensor includes an electrical connector. The security system also includes a base configured to removably support the sensor thereon, wherein the base includes an electronics module having a connector. In one example, a modular sweep detector includes a housing configured to engage a pusher of a pusher device and a sensor configured to engage a biasing member of the pusher device. The sensor is configured to detect movement of the pusher for determining if a predetermined number of items of merchandise have been removed from the pusher device.
