Abstract: Systems and methods for assisting individuals, such as to provide assistance with respect to detainees at an inmate facility, are provided. Embodiments facilitate booking, bonding, and release with respect to an inmate facility by providing assistance to a detainee communicating with service providers and friends and family. Assistance may include prequalifying a detainee for services, collecting information useful to the service provider, and providing collected information to the service provider. Assistance may include collecting information useful to the friend or family member and providing collected information to the friend or family member. Embodiments communicate with banking systems to allow a detainee or friends and family to employ various payment techniques in posting bail or in making payment to a service provider. Additional functionality, such as call accounting/logging, call recording, and message delivery, automated response, may be provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods for video visitation and calling using Rich Communication Services (RCS) are described. In some embodiments, a method may include: receiving a text message, via a native RCS client of a non-resident device operated by a non-resident of a correctional facility, indicating that a scheduled video visitation session with a resident of the correctional facility is available to be established; and establishing the scheduled video visitation session between the resident and the non-resident, at least in part, via the native RCS client.

Abstract: Embodiments of intelligent facility devices for use in controlled facility environments are described. In various embodiments, the intelligent facility devices provide limited or controlled access to data networks for inmates of a controlled facility. An embodiment of a method may include receiving a request for access to a network from a user interface device. The method may also include determining an authorized duration of network access for the user interface device. Additionally, the method may include establishing a temporary network access session between the user interface device and the network for the authorized duration of network access.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to communication systems and methods that allow a resident of a controlled environment facility to report a past, on-going or threatened crime, such as a rape. The resident is able to make the report using a facility communications system without alerting other residents of the controlled environment facility that the crime has been reported.

Abstract: Controlled-environment facility commissary goods ordering and distribution systems and methods employ controlled-environment facility resident communication and/or media devices disposed in the controlled-environment facility, which may accept an order from a resident of the controlled-environment facility for one or more commissary items and transmit the order to a controlled-environment facility vending machine disposed in the controlled-environment facility. The controlled-environment facility vending machine includes a vending mechanism configured to selectively vend selected items and a vending controller. The vending controller may accept or retrieve the order, verify the presence of the resident at the vending machine, and cause the vending mechanism to dispense item(s) in the order, to the resident.

Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods for triggering of incident report record generating in a controlled facility are described. The incidents may involve acts of sexual misconduct. An embodiment of a system includes one or more communication devices in electronic communication with a crime reporting server. The system may also include a crime reporting server coupled to the one or more communication devices. The crime reporting server may be configured to receive information concerning an inmate in a controlled facility over a facility communications system that is related to an act of sexual misconduct, automatically trigger an event in response to receiving the information, and generate a record comprising at least a portion of the information related to the act of sexual misconduct in a data storage device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for collaborative gaming are described herein. In some embodiments, a system comprises a computer system. The computer system comprises at least one processor and a memory coupled to the at least one processor. The memory stores program instructions are executable by the at least one processor to cause the computer system to perform tasks. The tasks include enabling a first user, via a first gaming device, to initiate a gaming session of a gaming application using an account of the first user, enabling a second user, via a second gaming device distinct from the first gaming device, to join the initiated gaming session; and enabling the second user, via the second gaming device, to engage in game-play in the initiated gaming session on behalf of the first user. The second user engages in the game-play using the account of the first user.

Also, consumer credit and/or debit card information the resident may use in purchase of the goods is stored and provided to the retailer in payment for resident-purchased goods. A spending limit for a particular credit or debit card may be maintained and enforced against such storefront purchases. This retailer may be an online retailer, or the subset of goods offered by the retailer may be a subset of goods offered online by a retailer and the retailer's existing packing and shipping channels may be employed.

Abstract: Systems and methods relate to detection of a possible event based on data indicative of one or more physiological indicator(s). In an example embodiment, data indicative of multiple physiological indicators of a person is received using an analytics module operating on at least one processor. The data is transmitted from a wearable device worn by the person. Changes in at least two of the multiple physiological indicators are detected from the data using the analytics module. An occurrence of a possible event is determined based on the changes in the at least two of the multiple physiological indicators using the analytics module. The determining of the occurrence of the possible event comprises correlating the changes in the at least two of the multiple physiological indicators to pre-defined combinations of changes in corresponding physiological indicators. An alert is transmitted using the analytics module when the occurrence of the possible event is determined.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling access to controlled-environment facility visitations enable and accept requests for visitations with residents of the controlled-environment facility and enable and accept scheduling of visitations with residents of the controlled-environment facility. A matrix barcode is assigned to each scheduled visitation in accordance with such systems and methods, and the resultingly assigned matrix barcode is provided to at least a non-resident taking part in a respective scheduled visitation, and in some implementations, to the resident. The controlled-environment facility communications management system, and/or the like, accesses a line information database and determines, based on the contents of the line information database, whether the telephone number is an Internet Protocol (IP) telephone number. The controlled-environment facility communications management system, and/or the like, takes action with respect to the electronic communication in response to identification of the telephone number as an IP telephone number.

Abstract: Proactive multiple controlled-environment facility investigative data aggregation and analysis systems and methods employ controlled-environment facility communications management systems, each associated with at least one controlled-environment facility, and a centralized investigative data aggregation and analysis system. The communications management systems each capture data related to communications associated with each resident of each facility and provide financial data related to resident accounts. The centralized investigative data aggregation and analysis system receives the captured data and/or financial data and identifies suspicious activity based on voice biometric analysis, communication analysis, location of calls, the financial data, and/or the like.

Abstract: The present embodiments describe methods and systems for intercepting unauthorized communications in a controlled-environment facility. Unauthorized communications may originate from contraband cell phones, for example. In an embodiment, attempted communications from the contraband communication device are intercepted by the facility communication systems. The attempted communication may or may not be connected or completed, depending upon facility rules, policies, and regulations.

Abstract: Methods and systems provide a controlled-environment facility communication system that provides regulated communication sessions between residents and non-residents. Via a supervisory system, a bypass may be authorized for exempting the communication session from various regulated aspects of sessions regulated by the communication system. For instance, a communication may be exempt from monitoring based on assertions that the communication is privileged. The communications system receives a request for a communication session with a non-resident at a first telephone number. If a communication session is authorized by a bypass authorization, the communication session is hosted, while exempt from the regulations specified by the bypass authorization. A monitoring system tracks the hosted bypass communication session by determining whether telephone numbers other than the first telephone number have been joined to the communication session.

Abstract: Systems and methods, which can provide for an indication of a privileged communication, are provided. A method, according to an embodiment, uses at least one processor of a communication server device. Addressee information of one or more addressee(s) of a communication, sender information of a sender of the communication, or a combination thereof is received. The sender information, the addressee information, or a combination thereof is compared to registered user information maintained in a database. The registered user information corresponds to registered users to or from whom privileged communications may be sent or received. An indication that the communication is privileged is provided when the sender information, the addressee information, or the combination thereof corresponds to respective registered user information maintained in the database.

Abstract: A visitation system provides visitation sessions between a resident of a controlled-environment facility and a nonresident, where the nonresident utilizes a personal wireless devices that connects to a wireless access point that may be accessible from a designated visitation area of the facility. A connection request from a personal wireless device of a nonresident is evaluated to determine the personal wireless device is authorized to interface with the visitation system, and whether the nonresident is authorized to communicate with the resident. If authorized, a visitation session between the resident and the nonresident is initiated with the nonresident participating via the personal wireless device. The visitation system may respond to a visitation session request from a registered personal wireless device by sending an access code to the personal wireless device.
