Abstract: A downhole tool system includes a tool housing, a chassis located within the tool housing, and an electronics assembly positioned on the chassis within the tool housing. The electronics assembly includes a heat sink comprising an inner surface and an outer surface. The outer surface includes a tapered portion and in is contact with the tool housing. The electronics assembly further includes one or more electronic components mounted onto the heat sink, in which at least a portion of the electronic components is in contact with the inner surface of the heat sink.

Abstract: An e-vapor device may include a cartridge configured to hold a vapor precursor therein. The e-vapor device may additionally include a dispensing body including a ratchet assembly and configured to receive a vaporizer to interact with the ratchet assembly. The vaporizer is configured to access the vapor precursor in the cartridge via a coupling action and to heat the vapor precursor to generate a vapor. The ratchet assembly is configured to undergo a mechanical incrementation with each coupling action to facilitate a simultaneous removal of the cartridge with the vaporizer coupled thereto after a designated number of coupling actions. Accordingly, the overuse of the vaporizer and the adverse sensory effects associated therewith can be reduced or prevented.

Abstract: Systems, devices, apparatuses, and methods for providing tokenization as a service are provided. Embodiments of the invention involve decoupling “tokenization service” from other services offered by a merchant service provider, and offering the tokenization service as a stand alone service. In accordance with an embodiment, a merchant service provider can receive payment data associated with a transaction between a consumer and a first entity. The merchant service provider can generate a payment token that represents the payment data and transmit a copy of the payment token to the first entity. The first entity can then transmit the payment token and order information to a second entity specified in the transaction. The merchant service provider can subsequently receive a request to complete the transaction from the second entity. The request can include the copy of the payment token from the second entity.

Abstract: Systems and methods for assessing geometric fractures parameters in a subsurface formation are disclosed. A first pressure signal and a second pressure signal in a first (observation) wellbore in the subsurface formation may be assessed using a pressure sensor in direct fluid communication with a fluid in the first wellbore. The fluid in the first wellbore may be in direct fluid communication with at least a first fracture in the subsurface formation. The first pressure signal may include a pressure change that is induced by a second fracture being formed from a second (stimulation) wellbore in the subsurface formation. The second pressure signal may include a pressure change that is induced by a third fracture being formed from the second wellbore. One or more geometric parameters of the second and third fractures may be assessed using the first pressure signal and the second pressure signal.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for implementing an educational dialog system. An initial task model is accessed that identifies a plurality of dialog states associated with a task, a language model configured to identify a response meaning associated with a received response, and a language understanding model configured to select a next dialog state based on the identified response meaning. The task is provided to a plurality of persons for training. The task model is updated by revising the language model and the language understanding model based on responses received to prompts of the provided task, and the updated task is provided to a student for development of speaking capabilities.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing a cash advance service associated with a payment account of a user. An exemplary method may include providing, to a device of the user, instructions to display an application interface, the application interface receiving user requests to enable and disable the cash advance service. The method may also include receiving, through the application interface, a request to enable the cash advance service. The method may further include associating a transaction rule with the payment account, the transaction rule defining a condition upon which approval of a cash advance transaction is permitted. The method may further include receiving a cash advance transaction authorization request associated with the payment account. The method may further include approving the cash advance transaction authorization request when the condition is met and declining the cash advance transaction authorization request when the condition is not met.

Abstract: A method of treating a subterranean formation includes introducing a well cementing composition into a wellbore, the cementing composition comprising: a pumpable slurry of cement and at least one of hydrophobic material, a superhydrophobic material, and combinations; and allowing at least a portion of the cementing composition to cure. A composition includes a pumpable slurry of wellbore cement and at least one of hydrophobic material, a superhydrophobic material, and combinations thereof.

Abstract: Aspects described herein may relate to the determination of data that is indicative of a greater range of speech properties than input text data. The determined data may be used as input to one or more speech processing tasks, such as model training, model validation, model testing, or classification. For example, after a model is trained based on the determined data, the model's performance may exhibit more resilience to a wider range of speech properties. The determined data may include one or more modified versions of the input text data. The one or more modified versions may be associated with the one or more speakers or accents and/or may be associated with one or more levels of semantic similarity in relation to the input text data. The one or more modified versions may be determined based on one or more machine learning algorithms.

Abstract: A barrel is provided having open proximal end and a closed distal end, and at least one groove in an interior wall thereof. The groove(s) define a length extending a distance from the open end of the barrel toward the distal end of the barrel and defining a substantially constant depth and width along the length thereof. A piston is in sealing engagement with the interior wall of the barrel. The groove(s) permits fluid to bypass the piston when positioned along the groove(s). Abstract: A user device may capture a plurality of preview images that each include image data. The user device may process, in substantially real-time, a preview image to identify an object in the preview image, including determining an outline of the object. The user device may create a mask that hides a portion of the image data associated with an area outside of the outline of the object in one or more of the preview images. Based on determining that a parameter associated with glare of the object in the preview images does not satisfy a threshold, the user device may provide, in substantially real-time, feedback to a user, including an instruction to the user to perform an action with respect to the user device or to the object, and, based on determining that the parameter satisfies the threshold, the user device may automatically capture an image of the object.

Abstract: A method of establishing fluid communication between wellbores can include forming a flow path from one wellbore to another wellbore, a flow area of the flow path increasing in a direction from the first wellbore toward the second wellbore. An explosive assembly for use in a well can include an explosive device having multiple explosive charges, the explosive charges producing longitudinal shock waves that collide with each other and result in a laterally directed shock wave, and a shield that focuses the laterally directed shock wave into a predetermined angular range of less than 360 degrees. A method of establishing fluid communication between wellbores can include forming a flow path from one wellbore to another wellbore, the flow path intersecting an uncased portion of the second wellbore.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide systems, methods, and techniques for managing merchandising cards. A merchandising card may be, for example, a gift card, loyalty card, or the like. Consistent disclosed embodiments, a system for managing merchandising cards may include one or more memory devices storing instructions and one or more processors configured to acquire, from a device over a network, a plurality of locations associated with the device, the device locations being acquired at different instances in time within a predetermined period of time. Additionally, the processor may be configured to calculate a merchant confidence rating for a merchant using the device locations. Further, the one or more processors may be configured to, based on the merchant confidence rating, determine that the merchant matches a merchant that is associated with merchandising card, and send a reminder a user of the device.

Abstract: A formation evaluation system reduces inversion matrixes used to determine formation properties, thereby increasing the memory management and processing efficiency of the evaluation system. NMR data is acquired from a wellbore and expressed mathematically by the system as a least squares solution to a linear system. The least squares solution is approximated using a numerical decomposition method and the evaluation system determines a formation property using the approximated least squares solution. Thereafter, a downhole operation may be planned, analyzed or conducted using the determined formation property.

Abstract: An example embodiment includes a remotely controlled pipeline section internal repair device. In some embodiments, the repair apparatus comprises elastomer seal rings that expand between an apparatus internal metal sleeve and the inner diameter of the pipe. The mechanical pressure exerted by the elastomer rings is such that the apparatus contains the internal fluid, as well as prevents ingress of external fluid when the pipeline is submerged.

Abstract: Some embodiments set forth probability based caching, whereby a probability value determines in part whether content identified by an incoming request should be cached or not. Some embodiments further set forth probability based eviction, whereby a probability value determines in part whether cached content should be evicted from the cache. Selection of the content for possible eviction can be based on recency and/or frequency of the content being requested. The probability values can be configured manually or automatically. Automatic configuration involves using a function to compute the probability values. In such scenarios, the probability values can be computed as a function of any of fairness, cost, content size, and content type as some examples.

Abstract: The technology disclosed provides a joint for connecting carrier units together so as to dissipate and absorb axial forces experienced by the carrier units. The joint may be comprised of a joint housing and an elastomeric insert. The housing may be comprised of a body portion and a head portion and the head portion may include an annular flange in which the elastomeric insert is configured to be secured. The elastomeric joint is capable of absorbing and dissipating horizontal, rotational, and vertical forces experienced by the carrier units in non-linear travel along a track.
