Abstract: Multimodal biometric profiling may include receiving a cover image and a biometric template for a person. An indication of a security requirement related to biometric profiling for the person may be received. A threshold value may be determined based on the indicated security requirement. The threshold value may be used to limit a number of biometric template bits of the biometric template that are embedded in a predetermined bit position of a cover image pixel of the cover image based on cover image intensity associated with the predetermined bit position.
Abstract: An example cooling system for a mold assembly includes a quench plate that defines one or more discharge ports and one or more recuperation ports. A fluid is circulated from the one or more discharge ports to the one or more recuperation ports to cool the mold assembly. A blocking ring is positioned on the quench plate and defines a central aperture for receiving a bottom of the mold assembly. An insulation enclosure having an interior for receiving the mold assembly is positioned on the blocking ring. The blocking ring prevents vapor generated by the fluid contacting the bottom of the mold assembly from migrating into the interior of the insulation enclosure.

Abstract: A sand control screen assembly includes a base pipe defining one or more flow ports that provide fluid communication into an interior of the base pipe. A sand screen is arranged about an exterior of the base pipe and thereby defines a production annulus between the exterior of the base pipe and the sand screen. A prepack porous media is positioned in and fills the production annulus. A flow collector is positioned within at least one of the one or more flow ports and provides a retainer and a mass of porous media positioned within the retainer.
Abstract: A computer implemented system for providing robust communication links to unmanned aerial vehicles is envisaged. It comprises a plurality of nodes which communicate with each other and with an unmanned aerial vehicle to allow exchange of data. A 3D signal coverage model is created which determines signal coverage provided by the plurality of nodes. A navigator present in the system navigates the unmanned aerial vehicle to follow a stored flight path based on this 3D model. Waypoints present in the path of the unmanned aerial vehicle are then identified and suitable waypoints are selected from where sensed pre-stored data is collected. A suitable node is then selected based on the stored 3D signal coverage model, location of the unmanned aerial vehicle and the nodes, and the signal strength of the nodes and the collected data is transmitted to the suitable node through the unmanned aerial vehicle to provide robust communication.
Abstract: A system and method provide rewards or loyalty incentives to card member customers. The system includes an enrolled card member customer database, an enrolled merchant database, a participating merchant offer database and a registered card processor. The enrolled card member customer database includes transaction accounts of card member customers enrolled in a loyalty incentive program. The enrolled merchant database includes a list of merchants participating in the loyalty incentive program. The participating merchant offer database includes loyalty incentive offers from participating merchants. The registered card processor receives a record for charge for a purchase made with an enrolled merchant by an enrolled card member customer and uses the record of charge to determine whether the purchase qualifies for a rebate credit in accordance with a discount offer from the enrolled merchant.

Abstract: Computer-implemented systems and methods are provided for assessing non-native speech proficiency. a non-native speech sample is processed to identify a plurality of vowel sound boundaries in the non-native speech sample. Portions of the non-native speech sample are analyzed within the vowel sound boundaries to extract vowel characteristics associated with a first vowel sound and a second vowel sound represented in the non-native speech sample. The vowel characteristics are processed to identify a first vowel pronunciation metric for the first vowel sound and a second vowel pronunciation metric for the second vowel sound, and the first vowel pronunciation metric and the second vowel pronunciation metric are processed to determine whether the non-native speech sample exhibits a distinction in pronunciation of the first vowel sound and the second vowel sound.
Abstract: A drilling shaft abutting apparatus is disclosed herein. The apparatus includes a plate having an arcuate edge. The arcuate edge is configured to at least partially encircle a drilling shaft. The apparatus also includes a first blade mounted on the plate for pivoting movement between a first retracted position and a first fully-pivoted position. The first blade passes across the arcuate edge during movement between the first retracted position and the first fully-pivoted position. The first blade prevents items from falling down a hole at least partially occupied by the drilling shaft. The apparatus includes at least one actuator operable to selectively urge the first blade to at least one of the first retracted position and the first fully-pivoted position.
