  • Patent number: 9431813
Abstract: A system and method for providing redundant wired pipe-in-pipe telemetry is described. The redundant wired pip-in-pipe telemetry system includes an outer pipe and an inner pipe disposed within the outer pipe. Within the outer pipe, two or more conductive elements may be provided as well as a wired path controller that may selectably switch between available conductive paths. The wired path controller may identify conductive paths with good electrical characteristics and select those paths for transmission. If a conductive path develops a fault, the wired path controller may select one of the alternative redundant conductive paths for transmission to avoid the fault. The wireless controller may further transmit information about the location of faults to a drill operator at the surface.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for detecting, diagnosing and/or prognosing a malignant adrenocortical tumor. Also disclosed are methods of treating a malignant adrenocortical tumor, such as ACC. In some examples, the method of diagnosing and/or prognosing includes obtaining a sample comprising genomic DNA from a subject at risk of acquiring or suspected to have an adrenocortical tumor; isolating genomic DNA from the sample; and measuring the level of one or more methylated genomic CpG dinucleotide sequences in one or more of the adrenocortical genomic targets in the sample, wherein an increase in the level of methylation of the one or more genomic CpG dinucleotide sequences in the sample compared to a control indicates a malignant adrenocortical tumor.

  • Patent number: 9426973
Abstract: A method for reducing drift of sprayed droplets includes storing a fluid to be sprayed in a reservoir carried by a vehicle, and providing a metered flow of the first fluid to a spray nozzle, from where the fluid is injected into an atmosphere as sprayed droplets. A drift of the sprayed droplets is reduced by causing the sprayed droplets to absorb moisture from the atmosphere after they are sprayed from the spray nozzle, such that a mass of each of the sprayed droplets increases sufficiently to reduce a drift of the respective sprayed droplet in the wind.

  • Patent number: 9430701
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for detecting a human in an image, and a corresponding activity. The image is captured, wherein the image comprises a plurality of pixels having gray scale information and a depth information. The image is segmented into a plurality of segments based upon the depth information. A connected component analysis is performed on a segment in order to segregate the one or more objects into noisy objects and candidate objects, the noisy objects are eliminated from the segment. A plurality of features are extracted from the candidate objects, and are evaluated using a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) model in order to determine the candidate objects as one of the human or non-human. The corresponding activity associated with the human is detected based on a depth value associated with each pixel corresponding to the candidate object in the image.

  • Patent number: 9429011
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of testing liquids at a test pressure. A first fluid is placed in a first chamber of a test system. The first fluid is brought to the test pressure. A volume is calculated of a second fluid to inject into the first chamber from a second chamber of the test system via a first portion connecting the first chamber and the second chamber. The first portion includes a fluid interface between the first fluid and the second fluid located in the first portion. The volume of the second fluid is injected into the first chamber, displacing an equivalent volume of fluid into a third chamber of the test system via a second portion connecting the first chamber and the third chamber in fluid communication with each other. The volume of the second fluid in the first chamber is mixed with a remaining volume of the first fluid in the first chamber to create a combination fluid. The combination fluid is tested.
