Abstract: A method for managing a public transport system comprises receiving information indicating a change of status of a component of a public transport system; identifying a commuter who is affected by the change of status; generating an alternative travel advisory for the commuter based on the change of status; and transmitting the alternative travel advisory to the commuter. In some embodiments the change of status includes a delay in an expected time of arrival of a public transport vehicle; identifying the commuter includes locating the commuter in the vehicle; and the alternative travel advisory includes a message advising the commuter to leave the vehicle. In some embodiments, locating the commuter in the vehicle is based on comparing a location of the commuter with a location of the vehicle. In some embodiments, the method further comprises receiving from the commuter information indicating that the commuter has boarded the vehicle.

Abstract: Methods and compositions for the generation of a peroxyacetic acid sanitizer in proximity to the point-of-use are disclosed. These methods comprise introducing a hydrogen peroxide-acetyl precursor solution to water, mixing, and then adding an aqueous source of a alkali metal or earth alkali metal hydroxide. Triacetin is a preferred acetyl precursor and is converted rapidly and with a high conversion rate into peracetic acid. These methods produce solutions with a high level of peracetic acid. Methods for preparing the hydrogen peroxide-acetyl precursor solution are also provided. Also disclosed are solid compositions comprising a liquid acetyl precursor, a water-soluble source of hydrogen peroxide, and a water-soluble source of alkalinity. The solid composition is a freely-flowable solid that is used as a bleaching agent and a stain remover for the treatment of articles such as fabrics, dentures, textile garments, and equipment used in the food and beverage industry.

Abstract: Surface calibration of a resistivity logging tool is accomplished using a variety of methods in which separate external loop transmitters and receivers are utilized for calibration.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a novel and useful fluid-tight, metal-to-metal, annular seal which can be repeatedly cycled in a high temperature, high pressure environment. More specifically, the invention provides a metal-to-metal, annular, seal on a radially expandable sliding sleeve which moves longitudinally from a reduced ID section of a bore to an enlarged section of the bore. The seal is disengaged at the enlarged bore section resulting in rapid fluid flow and pressure equalization which would destroy many traditional elastomer seals.
Abstract: Embodiments described herein include a method comprising: providing a treatment fluid comprising an aqueous base fluid, a viscosifier-scale inhibitor agent, and a breaker, wherein the viscosifier-scale inhibitor agent comprises a polysaccharide gelling agent grafted with a chelating moiety; introducing the treatment fluid into a subterranean formation, wherein the polysaccharide gelling agent increases the viscosity of the treatment fluid and the chelating moiety remains inert; breaking treatment fluid with the breaker so as to reduce the viscosity of the treatment fluid and chemically release the chelating moiety from the polysaccharide gelling agent; and inhibiting scale within the subterranean formation using the chelating moiety.
Abstract: Ceramic inks formulated for additive formation of proppants are provided, as well as methods of manufacturing such ink and ink systems including such ink. The proppant formed can contain a proppant core, a proppant shell, a proppant outer coating or any combination thereof. Additive methods for forming proppants are also provided. The ceramic ink can be applied drop-wise, linearly, in a planar fashion, or any combination thereof to form proppants. Additive fabricators configured to produce proppant are further provided, as are systems including the same and software for running the same.
Abstract: Systems and methods may comprise RFID data acquisition technology which may be embedded in a fob or tag for use in completing financial transactions. This fob may a self-contained device which includes a transponder and which may be contained on any portable form factor. For instance, the tag may be housed in a wearable transaction instrument, such as an activity tracker. The tag is configured to be used in concert with an RFID reader device.

Abstract: Systems including wellbore tubing having an anchor assembly, an upper control line connector coupled to the anchor assembly, a first housing, and a first connector. The first connector provides a first angular mating face that faces tangentially with respect to the first housing, an upper control line operatively coupled to the first housing, and first communication media that extend through the first housing to the first angular mating face. A completion assembly within a wellbore has a completion receptacle to receive the anchor assembly, a lower control line connector coupled to the completion receptacle and a second housing and a second connector. The second connector provides a second angular mating face that faces tangentially with respect to the second housing, and a lower control line operatively coupled to the second housing and one or more second communication media that extend through the second housing to the second angular mating face.
Abstract: In situ density and compressibility of a fluid sample are determined for a fluid sample collected downhole. The density and compressibility of the fluid sampled is determined by measuring a distance to a piston contained within the sample chamber using an external magnetic field sensor that senses a magnetic field emanating from a magnet provided on the piston internal to the sample chamber. The testing is performed quickly and at the surface in a noninvasive fashion (e.g., without opening the sample chamber).

Each azimuthal antenna array includes a plurality of antenna coils arranged circumferentially about the central axis and comprising an azimuthal array of z-coils or an azimuthal array of separated x-coils and separated y-coils. The separated x-coils are oriented in a first direction with respect to the central axis, the separated y-coils are oriented in a second direction with respect to the central axis, and the z-coils are oriented in a third direction with respect to the central axis. The second direction is orthogonal to the first direction, and the third direction is orthogonal to both the first and second directions.
Abstract: A cement composition and method for well treatment employing the cement composition that is effective at achieving zonal isolation, controlling gas migration, preventing corrosive conditions and sustaining wellbore integrity during drilling or construction of boreholes in such subterranean formations. The cement composition includes spent cracking catalyst from oil cracking processes.
Abstract: A method includes introducing a pipe inspection tool into a first pipe positioned within a wellbore and further positioned within at least a second pipe. The pipe inspection tool includes an electromagnetic sensor having a coil antenna that includes a coil winding extending axially along at least a portion of the electromagnetic sensor. An excitation signal is transmitted between a first terminal and a second terminal of the coil antenna. A first response signal is measured between a third terminal and a fourth terminal of the coil antenna, wherein at least one of the third and fourth terminals is different from the first and second terminals. The first response signal is then processed to determine a characteristic of the first pipe.
