Abstract: A well screen inflow control device with check valve flow controls. A well screen assembly includes a filter portion and a flow control device which varies a resistance to flow of fluid in response to a change in velocity of the fluid. Another well screen assembly includes a filter portion and a flow resistance device which decreases a resistance to flow of fluid in response to a predetermined stimulus applied from a remote location. Yet another well screen assembly includes a filter portion and a valve including an actuator having a piston which displaces in response to a pressure differential to thereby selectively permit and prevent flow of fluid through the valve.
Abstract: Fluid flow influencer devices in chambers subsequent to vortex assemblies are described. A flow-affecting device can move from a first position to a second position based on a flow path of fluid flowing from the vortex assembly to the chamber. The flow path may depend on an amount of rotation of the fluid from the vortex assembly. The flow-affecting device in the first position can substantially allow fluid to flow through a chamber exit opening. The flow-affecting device in the second position can substantially restrict fluid from flowing through the chamber exit opening.
Abstract: An approach for enabling users to generate an interpolated view of content based on footage captured by multiple cameras is described. An interpolation platform receives a plurality of images from a plurality of video cameras providing overlapping fields of view. A camera angle that is different from angles provided by the plurality of cameras is selected. The interpolation platform then generates an interpolated image corresponding to the selected camera angle using a portion or all of the plurality of images from the plurality of cameras.

Abstract: A barge system for hydraulic spreading of aquatic capping material is provided. The barge system includes a barge, a piping system, a spreader, a system for moving the barge and a controller. The barge has a deck extending between a front end and a rear end and two opposing sides. The piping system is mounted on the deck and used for the transmission of capping material slurry that includes a capping material. The piping system has a first end and a second end. A source of capping material slurry is connected to the first end and fed through the piping system to the spreader. The spreader has an inlet end in communication with the second end of the piping system and a discharge end. The spreader evenly distributes the capping material slurry from the end of the barge. The controller positions the barge based on the flow rate and density of the slurry. The barge system is used to deposit a predetermined thickness of the capping material on the bottom of the body of water.
Abstract: New styles of hepatitis C virus (HCV), referred to as HCV-3 and HCV-4, have been identified and sequenced. Antigenic regions of HCV-2, HCV-3 and HCV-4 polypeptides have been identified. Immunoassays for HCV and antibodies thereto are described, which allow more complete screening of blood samples for HCV, and allow HCV genotyping.

Abstract: A therapeutic environmental light and image system and related methods are provided. A controller controls a lighting system and one or more images displayed on a display monitor to create a virtual window in a patient recovery room that simulates characteristics of a real window. Optionally, circadian full-spectrum light cycling is delivered via a prescriptively-selected circadian light cycle, which may or may not be configured based on the images provided on the display monitor. Additionally, ultraviolet light from an ultraviolet light source may be dosed to the patient to favorably impact biologic functions and other health aspects of the patient, to facilitate patient recovery.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of corrosion resistant alloys in fluid ends to prolong the life of a well service pump. One embodiment of the present invention provides a method of providing a fluid end that has a corrosion resistant alloy having a fatigue limit greater than or equal to the tensile stress on the fluid end at maximum working pressure in the fluid end for an aqueous-based fluid; installing the fluid end in a well service pump; and pumping the aqueous-based fluid through the fluid end.

Abstract: An approach for finding cost effective network connections while maintaining physical layer diversity is described. A logical segment within a path between a start node and an end node of a network is determined. A plurality of physical connections of the logical segment is then determined, wherein each of the physical connections is associated with a cost value, selecting one of the physical connections of the logical segment based on the cost values. A determination is made of another logical segment between the start node and the end node to include another physical connection, wherein the another logical segment is diverse physically with respect to the logical segment.
Abstract: Various embodiments include apparatus and methods of providing a sensor, in a transducer subassembly, having a backing (1) coupled to a housing (7) without bonding the sensor to the housing such that the sensor is effectively mechanically decoupled from the housing except for longitudinal waves traveling through the front face of the transducer subassembly. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

The storage unit may be included in a storage unit system that may include one or several storage units and a central control unit. The central control unit may communicate with the one or several storage units, and may receive status and availability updates from the one or several storage units.
Abstract: A banking system is controlled responsive to data read from data bearing records. The banking system includes an automated banking machine. The machine is operable to carry out a financial transaction for a person responsive to a determination that the person is an authorized user of the machine based on correspondence between identifying data read by a reader of the machine and data store information. The machine includes a check acceptor that is operative to receive checks from authorized machine users. The check acceptor is operable to continuously move a received check along its transport path while simultaneously rotationally orienting the check into alignment with the transport path. A check determined not to have at least one property of an acceptable check is returned to the machine user. Acceptable checks are processed and stored in the machine.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a contrast medium composition (formulation) comprising a highly concentrated contrast agent for use in an imaging method. The contrast medium composition according to the present invention, which comprises iodine working as a contrast agent in a higher concentration than the concentration used before, shows higher contrast enhancement effect in both of arterial phase and portal phase when used for liver CT than a composition comprising the contrast medium in a concentration used before. Accordingly, images having excellent resolution and discrimination can be obtained.

Abstract: Present embodiments are directed to a server computer. The server computer establishes a first channel of communication to receive payment device data in a first format (e.g., chip type) and establishes a second channel to receive the payment device data in a second format (e.g., legacy type). The server computer receives an authorization request message in the second format from a merchant and generates a new authorization request message in the first format. The server computer then forwards the new authorization request to the issuer for approval.
