Abstract: An optically controlled, multi-transmitter magnetic resonance imaging system for multi-nuclear, high field applications is disclosed. In one embodiment, the MRI system may include a dual-tuned radio-frequency (RF), on-coil power amplifier for amplifying RF power signals at two or more frequencies for the multi-nuclear excitations for use in a dual-tuned coil MRI device or a nested coil MRI device. In one particular implementation, the dual-tuned amplifier of the MRI system may receive optical carrier signals through the broadband optical interface to control the on-coil amplifiers. A variable effective inductor circuit for use in tuning the dual-tuned amplifier is also disclosed. The variable effective inductor circuit includes a gallium nitride (eGaN) field effect transistor (FET) device connected to an inductor.

  • Publication number: 20230247269
Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) receives a media broadcast including media items and embedded watermarks. A watermark detection module included in the RF receiver operates in a low-power state, during which the watermark detection module does not attempt to detect the embedded watermarks. The watermark detection circuitry is activated, thereby transitioning from the low-power state to an active state, in response to receiving an attention marker. during the active state the watermark detection circuitry attempts to detect the embedded watermarks in the media broadcast, and continues to do so until an indication that watermark detection is to be discontinued is received. In response to receiving the indication that the watermark detection is to be discontinued, the watermark detection module is again placed in the low-power state.

Abstract: A sensor apparatus may include a channel structure configured to couple with an external element and a fluid conduit, such that the channel structure may receive a fluid, at least partially drawn through the external element from an ambient environment, and direct the fluid through the fluid conduit. A sensor may generate sensor data indicating a flow rate of the fluid through the fluid conduit based on monitoring a variation in a pressure at a location in hydrodynamic contact with the fluid conduit and in relation to an ambient pressure of the ambient environment. The sensor apparatus may enable generation of improved topography information associated with flows of fluid drawn from the external element based on measuring a local pressure at the location in hydrodynamic contact with the fluid conduit and determining the ambient pressure based on monitoring the local pressure over time.

Abstract: Mosquito species cause severe and debilitating illnesses. Despite significant advances in clinical medicine, no specific drugs or vaccines are available for diagnosis, treatment, and management of majority of mosquito-borne illnesses. A method and system for evaluating and reducing the degree of mosquito attractiveness of an individual is provided. The methodology involves computation of a metric based on analysis of the host’s skin microbial profile and is thus expected to estimate individualized attractiveness profiles. A specific set of bacterial species contributing to skin attractiveness for mosquitoes have been identified and relative abundances of the bacterial species in the identified set have been custom engineered to generate novel features. These features have been utilized for computing an index referred to as a ‘Mosquito Attractiveness Quotient (MAQ)’ that quantifies or measures the degree of mosquito-attractiveness of individual.
