Abstract: As opposed to using one type of technology from the beginning of a transaction to the end of a transaction at the point of sale, embodiments of the present invention are related to useful techniques for conducting mixed mode transactions. A mixed mode transaction combines at least two modes of communication used in transaction processing. A transaction may start by initiating the transaction using a first communication mode between a first device and a second device. The first device may be a consumer's mobile device, and the device may be a merchant access device or point of sale terminal. To continue the transaction, a second mode of communication may be initiated. The first and second communications modes may be a physical interaction-based mode, a contact or contactless chip mode, a Bluetooth mode, a WiFi mode, an infrared (IR) mode, or any other suitable communication mode.

Abstract: A computer-mediated reality system electronically communicates computer-mediated presentation information for a product to a purchaser device. The computer-mediated reality system electronically receives a selection of the product. The computer-mediated reality system automatically places a product code for the product in an electronic shopping cart. The computer-mediated reality system electronically communicates computer-mediated offer information for a contractor service to the purchaser device. The computer-mediated reality system electronically receives a selection of the contractor service. The computer-mediated reality system automatically places a service code for the contractor service in the electronic shopping cart, the service code electronically received from a mapping computer system, the service code automatically derived by the mapping computing system programmed to map the product with the contractor service.

Abstract: Methods of preventing a disease resulting from a dengue virus (DENV) infection in a human subject, comprising administering to the human subject a compound of Formula (I), or pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of Formula (I); a compound of Formula (I) can be first administered to an asymptomatic human subject followed by subsequent doses administered at least once daily. The methods of the invention can be used to prevent a disease resulting from primary and secondary DENV 1-4 viral infections.

In some embodiments, the container includes an outer surface that encloses a cavity; a first face internal to the container; a second face internal to the container; a third face internal to the container; a fourth face internal to the container; an integrated handle including a first aperture disposed in the first face internal to the container and a second aperture disposed in the second face internal to the container and proximate to the first aperture; and an internal support disposed in the cavity, wherein the internal support traverses the cavity of the container to form a handle cavity by extending from the first face internal to the container to one or more faces internal to the container, wherein the internal support includes a handle cavity flap, a first binder flap, and a second binder flap.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described for matching contributor skills to required skills in source code programming projects in order to provide more agility for the project team. For example, to provide more agility, the methods and system track contributor skills and assign contributors to contributions based on one or more of a plurality of skills of a contributor not corresponding to a skill required for the project. The methods and system may nonetheless maintain workflow velocity in the source code programming projects.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed that generally relate to content delivery techniques in audio-visual systems. In an audio-visual system, a method of using sensors to incrementally present content elements on a display includes presenting a first content element on the display, receiving first data from a sensor, the first data associated with a first distance. An increment coefficient is identified, and a portion size is determined by reducing the first distance by the increment coefficient. Finally, an unseen portion of a second content element is incrementally added to the display, and a presented portion of the first content element is incrementally removed from the display, the size of the portions added and removed being equal to the determined portion size.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus according to various aspects of the present invention may operate in conjunction with a microgrid capable of connecting to a main electrical grid supplying electrical power at a frequency (or other characteristic, such as voltage). A sensor may provide a signal to a control system, wherein the signal corresponds to the frequency (or other characteristic) of the electrical power from the main electrical grid. The control system may compare the frequency (or other characteristic) of the electrical power from the main electrical grid to a first threshold, and automatically provide power from the microgrid to the main electrical grid if the frequency (or other characteristic) of the electrical power from the main electrical grid crosses the first threshold.

Abstract: A melt-blown fabric for pouching smokeless tobacco or a smokeless tobacco substitute can include melt-blown polymer fibers. The fabric can have a basis weight of less than 10 gsm and a tensile strength of at least 4 mJ in at least one predetermined direction. Method of making the fabric can include melt-blowing a polymeric material against a support surface and bonding the fibers or arranging them in a predetermined orientation. Pouched smokeless tobacco or tobacco substitute products including the fabrics provided herein can provide desirable flavor and tactile experience.

Abstract: Techniques to improve storage of information, including encoding of multimedia data on physical pages. Some techniques include logic configured to encode multimedia data pursuant to a colorspace scheme and on a piece of paper. The logic may further be configured to generate one or more colorspaces associated with the multimedia data, perform colorspace conversions based on the generated colorspaces, and encode the multimedia data pursuant to the colorspace conversions. The logic may be further configured to apply one or both of an ultraviolet layer and an infrared layer to the physical page, e.g. paper, in order to further enhance security and provide an additional vehicle for storing and encoding data on the physical page, e.g. paper. The logic may further be configured to provide a scanning device with the ability to scan and decode the encoded data one the sheet of paper. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for generating electromagnetic waves such as terahertz waves. The apparatus may comprise a finger structure having a plurality of conductive lines, wherein at least two of the plurality of conductive lines is separated by photosensitive material, a plurality of detectors, and a capacitor having a plurality of conductive lines separated by a dielectric material. Light from a laser incident on the photosensitive material causes free carriers in the photosensitive material to move to a conduction band and be accelerated by a voltage across the conductive lines of the finger structure applied by the capacitor to produce the terahertz waves.

Abstract: Methods and systems for personalized trust recommendation based on a dynamic trust model. In an example embodiment, a trust framework can be derived from a set of use-case specific factors. Invasive data and non-invasive data can be collected from a user (or a group of users) based on activity data and profile data associated with the user. A dynamic trust profile can be created (or learned) based on the invasive data and the non-invasive data collected from the user. A recommended level of trustworthiness can be then provided to the user respect to a particular situation and/or entity (e.g. other users) within the trust framework based on the dynamic trust profile of the user and which is personalized for the user.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a payment card. The payment card may have a first face and a second face opposite the first. Additionally, the payment card may comprise a first smart chip, the first smart chip having contacts that are electronically accessible from the first face of the card. The payment card may further comprise a first antenna coupled to the first smart chip, the first antenna providing near-field contactless access to the first smart chip and a second smart chip, the second smart chip having contacts that are electronically accessible from the second face of the card. Additionally, the payment card may comprise a second antenna coupled to the second smart chip, the second antenna providing near-field contactless access to the second smart chip and an RF block that electronically isolates the first antenna and the second antenna from each other.

Abstract: A method and system of using a vehicle mounted camera device to authenticate a user during an interaction is disclosed. The method includes receiving interaction data regarding an interaction between a user operating a communication device and an access device, the user being near other candidate users. The method then includes determining one or more match indicators, the match indicators generated by comparing different sample biometric templates of the user with different enrolled biometric templates. At least one of the different biometric sample templates may be an image-based biometric template and at least one may be a voice print biometric template. Then the method includes identifying the user based on at least the match indicator associated with the voice print biometric template. The method then includes, if the match indicators are positive match indicators, initiating a process on behalf of the user.

Abstract: Provided is a computer-implemented method for performing analysis of transaction data. The method may include receiving streaming data, wherein the streaming data comprises a plurality of data identifiers and transaction data associated with each transaction of a plurality of transactions, wherein each data identifier is associated with transaction data associated with a transaction so that the transaction data associated with each transaction is separated by a data identifier, filtering the streaming data using at least one predetermined data identifier value to provide filtered transaction data, determining whether the filtered transaction data corresponds to at least one predetermined transaction parameter, and asynchronously storing the filtered transaction data associated with the at least one transaction in at least one data structure. A system and computer program product are also disclosed.

Similarly, in response to determining that the sufficient historical information/data is not available for a second weekday, determining an estimated pick-up/delivery time for the first serviceable point and for the second weekday based on the first historical information/data.

Abstract: Multiple different non-financial loyalty currencies held by different issuers are used by a consumer as financial tender for a transaction with a merchant. Each issuer pays to a primary issuer the financial currency value of the non-financial loyalty currencies being held in return for a corresponding reduction of the balance of non-financial loyalty currency. For each reduced balance, the primary issuer adds an equivalent primary loyalty currency to a primary loyalty account for the consumer. The primary issuer pays the merchant for the transaction in financial currency and makes an equivalent reduction in the balance of the primary loyalty currency. The financial value of each loyalty currency may be dependent upon its use in a transaction with a competitor of a merchant supplying loyalty currency to the consumer.

Abstract: A first user device may receive, from a second user device, a request to communicatively couple to the first user device, and may establish a communication session with the second user device after receiving the request. The first user device may identify, after establishing the communication session, an inappropriate activity of the second user device relating to the communication session, and perform a set of actions based on identifying the inappropriate activity. The set of actions may include causing the communication session to be restricted, and providing, to a trust platform, a score for the second user device. The score may permit the trust platform to derive a composite score, indicative of a level of trustworthiness of the second user device, that enables other user devices, associated with the trust platform, to determine whether to grant access requests submitted by the second user device.
