Abstract: Disclosed here includes a method for purifying a biologic composition, comprising diafiltering the biologic composition into a composition comprising phosphate buffered saline (PBS) to obtain a purified composition. The method disclosed here can be particularly useful for removing one or more impurities from the biologic composition, such as bis(2-hydroxyethyl)amino-tris(hydroxymethyl)methane (Bis-tris).

Abstract: Compositions and methods for detecting presence of an emerging influenza virus in a sample, such as a biological sample obtained from a subject or an environmental sample, are disclosed. In some embodiments, the compositions and methods can be used to quickly identify particular subtypes of influenza virus (such as a pandemic and/or emerging influenza virus subtype). Probes and primers are provided herein that permit the rapid detection and/or discrimination of pandemic influenza virus subtype nucleic acids in a sample. Devices (such as arrays) and kits for detection and/or discrimination of influenza virus subtype nucleic acids are also provided.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for using haptic vibration for inter-device communication. In one implementation, a system for inter-device communication using haptic vibration may include at least one force gauge configured to measure displacements caused by an external device in contact with the at least one force gauge; at least one memory storing instructions; and at least one processor configured to execute the instructions to: receive an identifier associated with a user; retrieve a pattern associated with the received identifier; receive, from the at least one force gauge, one or more measurements over a period of time; assess a degree of difference between the received one or more measurements and the retrieved pattern; and, when the degree of difference is below a threshold, authenticate the user.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for designing webpage and, more particularly, to systems and methods for designing artifacts associated with a webpage in a web development environment. In one embodiment, a system for designing artifacts associated with a webpage is provided. The system may identify a style pattern based on an HTML pattern of the webpage and one or more boundary conditions. The system may also determine one or more editing operations to be performed on the artifacts based on one or more style specifications. The system may further perform the one or more determined editing operations on the artifacts based a value associated with one or more of the artifacts, the style pattern, and the boundary conditions, and render design of the artifacts based on the performance of the editing operations.

Abstract: A power converter for heat tracing applications is disclosed. The power converter includes a controller configured to control an input switching stage. The power converter also includes an output filter, the output filter electrically coupled to the input switching stage. Further, the power converter includes a passive cooling element, the passive cooling element coupled to the power converter. The controller is configured to select a peak voltage and set a power converter output voltage based on at least one of the peak voltage and a power converter input voltage. The passive cooling element is configured to decrease a temperature of the power converter and to obviate the need for cooling with moving parts, making the system viable for hazardous areas in addition to non-hazardous areas. The input switching stage includes a plurality of transistors. The power converter output voltage and the power converter input voltage are both alternating current.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for training a model using machine learning. An exemplary method may include providing, by the model in a training session, an action to an environment to receive feedback from the environment. The method may also include generating, by a behavior simulator, a plurality of predicted outcomes from the environment resulting from the action. The method may further include training the model, using at least a subset of the predicted outcomes, to generate a set of candidate models. The method may include receiving actual feedback from the environment and determining whether the actual feedback matches one of the predicted outcomes in the subset. Responsive to the determination that the actual feedback matches one of the predicted outcomes in the subset, the method may include using, in a new training session, the candidate model in the set corresponding to the matched predicted outcome.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to multi-sensor data, and more particularly to summarizing multi-sensor data. In one embodiment, the method includes computing plurality of histograms from sensor data associated with a plurality of sensors. The respective histograms of each sensor are clustered into a first plurality of sensor-clusters, and a first set of rules is extracted therefrom. First set of rules defines patterns of histograms of a set of sensors occurring frequently over a time-period. Two or more sensor-clusters from amongst the first plurality of sensor-clusters are merged selectively to obtain a second plurality of sensor-clusters. Second set of rules are extracted from the second plurality of sensor-clusters, and a set of correlated sensors are identified therefrom based on the second set of rules. Third set of rules are extracted from the set of correlated sensors, the third set of rules summarizes the multi-sensor data to represent prominent co-occurring sensor behaviors.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing analysis on data collected at a point of sale is disclosed. The data from the point of sale is collected using voice recognition technique implemented on a mobile communication device. In order to enable this, a limited vocabulary word recognition technique is implemented using a set of libraries storing speech utterances in a memory storage unit present of the mobile communication device. Dynamic updating of module parameters associated with the stored speech utterances is enabled by a speech refinement unit of the mobile communication device. The device further enables local as well as regional data collation and analysis.
