Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, system and methods for controlling borehole pressure in a MPD system to compensate for heave effects on a drilling rig are provided. The systems and method described herein involve calculating and implementing set points for two or more MPD system components in real time. These MPD components that are controlled via the dynamic set points may include a choke, a backpressure pump (BPP), a rig pump diverter (RPD), a continuous circulation device, one or more mud pumps, a pressure relief system, or some combination thereof. By calculating and providing these set points in real-time during various well and drilling operations, non-productive time, well control events, and costs to remedy issues resulting from improper pressure levels within the borehole may be mitigated or avoided.

Abstract: A fluid is received into a sample tube. A processor causes an energy to be applied to the sample tube to induce vibration in the sample tube at a resonant frequency of the sample tube containing the fluid. The processor stops the supply of energy to the sample tube. The processor monitors an amplitude of the vibration of the sample tube as the amplitude of the vibrations diminish over a period of time. The processor uses the monitored amplitude to calculate an RF of the sample tube containing the fluid. The processor uses the calculated RF to calculate the viscosity of the fluid.
Abstract: A downhole system and method is disclosed for sealing an inflow control device installed in a subterranean formation along a length of production tubing adjacent a productive zone of the subterranean formation. The system includes a truss structure radially expandable between a contracted configuration and an expanded configuration and a sealing structure disposed radially external to the truss structure. The truss structure and the sealing structure are set in their expanded configurations so that the sealing structure is put into engagement with the inflow control device so as to restrict the flow of fluids from the subterranean formation into the production tubing at the location of the inflow control device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to apparatus, methods, and applications for treating wastewater, and more particularly to biological processes for removing pollutants from wastewater. This invention further relates to apparatus and methods for growing microbes on-site at a wastewater treatment facility, and for economically inoculating sufficient microbes to solve various treatment problems rapidly.
Abstract: A gravel pack system includes a service tool used to maintain a pressure of the wellbore below a hydraulic packer at the same pressure of workstring tubing above the hydraulic packer, prior to and during setting the hydraulic packer. The service tool includes a washpipe disposed at a lower portion of the service tool, a crossover port in a wall of the service tool that enables fluid to flow between workstring tubing and a space between the service tool and a completion string. The service tool also includes a valve disposed in the wall of the service tool that directs fluid from the space between the service tool and the completion string into the service tool and toward the washpipe when the valve is open, the valve being closeable in response to compression of the service tool.

Abstract: Methods and systems consistent with the present invention provide a barcode image. A client is operable to create a request for a barcode image and send the request to a server. The request comprises data to be converted to a barcode. The server is operable to receive the request from the client via a network, generate a barcode image from the data, and encode the barcode image. Thereafter, the server provides the encoded image to the client.
Abstract: A method for managing a live stream of waste stream fluids in which a controller of an applicator unit accesses data indicative of a first concentration of at least one contaminant in a volume of waste stream fluids loaded in the applicator unit, and a contaminant capacity profile indicative of an amount of the at least one contaminant to be applied in the land area. At least a portion of the volume of waste stream fluids loaded in the applicator unit is applied on at least a portion of a land area based on the first concentration of the at least one contaminant in the volume of waste stream fluids and the contaminant capacity profile. The controller generates an updated contaminant capacity profile based at least in part on the volume of waste stream fluids applied on the land area and the first concentration of the at least one contaminant in the volume of waste stream fluids applied to the land area.

Abstract: A reservoir assembly for an electronic vaping device includes a reservoir configured to store a pre-vapor formulation, a tube including a first end and a second end, and a sleeve at least partially surrounding the second end of the tube. The first end of the tube extends into the reservoir. The second end of the tube protrudes from the reservoir. The tube includes a hole in a sidewall of the tube at the second end. The sleeve is formed of a wicking material. The sleeve is in fluid communication with the hole in the sidewall of the tube.
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include systems and methods to generate electrical power in a downhole environment. In one embodiment, the system includes a thermoelectric generator operable to convert a temperature gradient across a section of the thermoelectric generator into electrical energy and deployed in a wellbore. The system also includes a pressure control device positioned proximate the thermoelectric generator and having a fluid flow path for a fluid flowing through the pressure control device and across the thermoelectric generator such that an absolute pressure of the fluid decreases when the fluid flow out of the pressure control device and across the thermoelectric generator. A temperature of the fluid changes as the fluid flows out of the thermoelectric generator and across the thermoelectric generator due to a change in the absolute pressure of the fluid. The temperature gradient across the thermoelectric generator is due to change in the temperature of the fluid.

Abstract: Method and system for improving the speed and accuracy of determining formation properties using multiple logging data are disclosed. Logging data relating to the formation of interest is obtained and used as an input. High frequency noise is then removed from the logging data and bed-boundary determination is performed using the logging data. An adaptive low pass filter is applied to the logging data and the logging data is inverted. The inverted logging data is then visually interpreted.
