The indicia may be a vehicle identification number and the reflective surface may be a windshield of a vehicle. The image processing system may receive an initial image of the indicia positioned behind a reflective surface and process the initial image to produce a resulting image. In processing the initial image, the image processing system may identify an interest region of the initial image, where the interest region identifies a portion of the initial image affected by glare caused by the reflective surface, texturize the interest region to account for the glare, and remove a defocusing effect from the initial image to account for blur, reflection, or both, caused by the reflective surface. Then, the image processing system may extract data, such as the vehicle identification number, from the resulting image.

A method of making soluble fiber lozenges provided herein includes forming a molten mixture of at least 40 weight percent soluble fiber, one or more additives, and less than 15 weight percent water while maintaining a mixture temperature of less than 200° C. and portioning the molten mixture into a plurality of soluble fiber lozenges. In some cases, the ingredients can be mixed to form the molten mixture in an extruder.

    Abstract: A system and method for classifying the phonocardiogram (PCG) signal quality has been described. The system is configured to identify the quality of the PCG signal recording and accepting only diagnosable quality recordings for further cardiac analysis. The system includes the derivation of plurality features of the PCG signal from the training dataset. The extracted features are preprocessed and are then ranked using mRMR algorithm. Based on the ranking the irrelevant and redundant features are rejected if their mRMR strength is less. A training model is generated using the relevant set of features. The PCG signal of the person under test is captured using a digital stethoscope and a smartphone. The PCG signal is preprocessed and only the relevant set of features are extracted. And finally the PCG signal is classified into diagnosable or non-diagnosable using the relevant set of features and a random forest classifier.
