Abstract: A multiple sensor fiber optic sensing system. A method of sensing distributed temperature and at least another property in a well includes the steps of: interconnecting an optical switch to an optical fiber which extends along a wellbore in the well; operating the optical switch to optically connect the optical fiber to an interferometric measurement system; and operating the optical switch to optically connect the optical fiber to a distributed temperature measurement system. Another method includes the steps of: installing an optical fiber along a wellbore in the well, the optical fiber being a first distributed temperature sensor, the installing step including providing a substantial length of the optical fiber proximate a second sensor which senses the well property; and calibrating the second sensor using a temperature sensed by the first sensor in the substantial length of the optical fiber.

Abstract: A functional design creation tool generates a functional design diagram for visual presentation on a display. The functional design creation tool extracts content from a processed requirements specification including one or more processed requirement statements. The functional design creation tool applies one or more glossaries and a set of heuristic rules to the extracted content. Functional design diagram components may be generated by the functional design creation tool based on the application of the glossaries and set of heuristic rules. The functional design tool may generate a functional design diagram based on the functional design diagram components. The functional design diagram may be transmitted to a display.

Abstract: A split stream oilfield pumping system is provided which utilizes recycled high Reid vapor pressure production fluids. The oilfield system is made up of two separate fluid streams: a first recycled fluid stream and a second new fluid stream. The recycled fluid stream is enclosed to reduce or eliminate vaporization of the recycled fluid, which typically will have a Reid vapor pressure >14 kPa. Wellbore treatment additives are added to the new fluid stream, and the resultant treatment fluid is mixed with the recycled fluid in a common manifold to provide a final wellbore treatment fluid to be delivered to the wellhead.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method represents a list of informational items using a bit array. The method converts an informational item to a cryptographic value using a cryptographic algorithm and extracts a plurality of n-bit samples from the cryptographic value. The n-bit samples includes at least a first field and a second field. The first field identifies a group of bits of the bit array and the second field identifies one or more individual bits within the group of bits. The individual bits are set to a pre-determined value according to the first field identifying the group of bits and the second field identifying the individual bits within the group of bits.

Other embodiments of the present invention provide a candidate renege prediction method in accordance with embodiments of the present invention. An still other embodiments of the present invention provide a psychometric analysis tool for predicting the renege rate.

Abstract: An example funds facilitation system that facilitates transactions between a payer and payee includes a promotion processing system that facilitates the provision of promotions to account holders on the funds facilitation system. The party offering the promotion may be a merchant/payee that also has an account with the funds facilitation system. The promotion processing system applies promotion rules based on the identity of the merchant/payee and upon conditions placed on the promotion that identify a payer or a group of payers to receive the promotion. A user interface is provided for generating promotion rules and monitoring promotions. A user interface is also provided that displays unused promotion and gift codes and links to merchant/payee websites associated with the unused codes. The funds facilitation system can also provide authorization for purchases based on a condition, such as the age of the payer.

After that, the ECCS pump is carried into the pit can, and an installation of the ECCS pump is completed by fixing the carried ECCS pump through the respective foundation bolts of which bottom sides are embedded.

Abstract: A central management authority for a system, such as a power utility system, is disclosed. The central management authority communicates with a plurality of meter data management systems and with a plurality of headend systems, the meter data management systems generating commands and the headend systems communicating with one or more meters (such as one or more smart meters). The central management authority includes a gateway layer and a core layer. The gateway layer includes a plurality of input connector routines to communicate with each of the plurality of source systems and a plurality of output connector routines to communicate with each of the plurality of target systems. The core layer includes a plurality of core adapters, with the core adapters performing a one-to-one translation of communications from the plurality of meter data management systems generating commands to the plurality of the head end systems.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for forming and operating communication networks that support the needs of an enterprise. These systems and methods include: establishing a plurality enterprise network nodes overlaid on one or more common carrier networks; establishing independence between the enterprise network and the common carrier networks; designing services provided by the enterprise network to be consistent with the current modes of operation of the common carrier networks and employing existing services of the common carrier networks to transport enterprise data; employing redundancy in communications among enterprise network nodes and in the storage of enterprise data. Compared to current enterprise networks, a network based on these methods and systems is easier to implement, is less expensive, and could be deployed more quickly. This network is not limited by the coverage and services provided by any particular carrier.

Abstract: An apparatus for loading a topside onto a jacket is provided. The apparatus may include: a projecting structure extending beyond a deck of a marine vessel wherein the projecting structure configured to support the topside and the projecting structure is dimensioned sufficiently long enough to allow the marine vessel to approach a submerged jacket and position the topside above the submerged jacket without having the marine vessel contact the jacket; and a support configured to support the topside above the projecting structure. A method for one of installing and removing a topside from a jacket may be provided. The method may include: positioning sponsons attached to a marine vessel around a jacket; supporting at least part of the weight of the topside on the sponsons; and one of attaching and detaching the topside and jacket.

Abstract: A cloud services monitoring system (CSMS) helps a consumer of cloud computing resources determine the state of the cloud computing resources available to the consumer. The CSMS is particularly effective for cloud models where the consumer of the cloud computing resources is not the same as the provider of the cloud resource. The CSMS also provides mechanisms for adjusting operations actions to preserve service guarantees for the consumer. In that regard, the CSMS dynamically adjusts operations actions in response to the state of the cloud, rather than executing fixed pre-determined operations actions that are not tailored to the monitored conditions.

Abstract: An integrated content production environment includes a connected services framework providing connectivity to a set of applications that produce content for the media industry. Users in their roles use the integrated environment to perform setting up, ingesting, logging, selecting, editing, reviewing, playout, distributing, and archiving activities. Notifications are dynamically triggered to users when their action is requested. The notifications may be instant messages, e-mails, voice mails, etc. Throughout the production of content, actions by both users the applications are tracked and stored in a log file for processing. The action data in the log file may include payload data from messages. When one or more applications or when one or more users of the environment have excess capacity, that capacity can be leveraged. External users can purchase or bid on the excess capacity and can then access the environment through available web services.

A foot plate assembly is removably positioned proximate a free end of the support deck, the foot plate assembly receiving a patient's feet when a patient is positioned on the segmented patient support surface thereby enabling the patient to slide the segmented patient support surface relative to the support deck.

Abstract: An end-to-end automated management system facilitates generation of advertisement proposals, and purchase orders, over one or many media outlets and stations. Once an advertisement proposal is purchased and inserted into a traffic management and billing system, near-real-time performance feedback about the advertisements can be obtained from media consumers through a media presentation application presenting the advertisement, via a social media service, or the like. The consumer feedback and other performance factors, which can be received concurrently with airing of an advertisement, can be considered in determining whether a particular advertisement or an advertising proposal as a whole, is effective in meeting purchaser requirements. Advertisement copy can be changed according to the proposal parameters, without purchaser intervention, to provide near-real-time responsiveness to consumer feedback.

Abstract: In one aspect, a computing apparatus is configured to represent offer rules based on requirements for the detection of predefined types of events and actions scheduled to be performed in response to the detection of each occurrence of the events. The events are independent from each other in processing and are linked via prerequisite conditions to formulate the requirements of an offer campaign. The computing apparatus is configured to allow a user to register a plurality of different accounts; and a transaction in a first account of the user can be used to satisfy the prerequisite conditions for the detection of a subsequent event in the offer rules corresponding to a subsequent transaction in a second account different from the first account. Thus, the user can use any of the registered accounts to generate the events anticipated by different stages of the offer rules and thus trigger the respective actions.
