Abstract: A cable detection system for detecting an end of a cable having a plurality of exposed different sections includes an illumination device and a camera. The illumination device emits an illuminating light to the end of the cable. The illumination device simultaneously emits a parallel light and a diffuse light to the end of the cable. The camera captures an image of the end of the cable. The parallel light sharpens a boundary between the different sections of the cable in the image, and the diffuse light clarifies a surface of the different sections in the image.

Abstract: A cartridge for an electronic vaping device includes an outer housing extending in a longitudinal direction and a reservoir configured to contain a pre-vapor formulation. The reservoir is in the outer housing. The cartridge also includes at least two transfer pads at a reservoir end, and a wick in contact with the transfer pads. The transfer pads include a plurality of fibers. Each of the plurality of fibers is substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction.

Abstract: A method and system for secure remote digital interactions through the use of biometric templates is disclosed. In one example, the method includes an interaction that prompts the use of obtaining a first biometric template and comparing it to a second biometric template to determine if they match. The match process is performed on a portable device.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides approaches for reducing tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) in tobacco. Some of these approaches include genetically engineering tobacco plants to increase one or more antioxidants, increase oxygen radicle absorbance capacity (ORAC), increase phenylalanine, or reduce nitrite. Also provided are methods and compositions for producing modified tobacco plants and tobacco products therefrom comprising reduced TSNAs.

Abstract: In applications such as adaptive learning of physics-based and data-driven models associated with industrial plants, the models are corrected periodically by taking into consideration the dynamic changes occurring in plant conditions and related data. However, accuracy of adaptive learning depends on accuracy of ground truth data being used as reference data. The disclosure herein generally relates to data preprocessing, and, more particularly, to a method and system for ground truth profile correction and instance selection. The system performs a ground truth profile correction for ground truth profiles having a Profile Deviation Index (PDI) value exceeding a threshold of distortion, to reduce the PDI value, and in turn reduce the distortion in the ground truth profiles. Further, the system performs a data instance selection to identify and remove outliers, and the data that remains after the data instance selection may be then used for applications such as model generation or retuning.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to system and method for determining explainability of machine predicted decisions. Typical explainable AI (XAI) solutions are limited by type of data processed, such as structured, semi-structured and unstructured text. In addition, due to limited automation of the process of explainability, typical systems are cumbersome and time-consuming. The system and method provide an end to end solution for automating the determination of explainability of machine predicted decisions. The XAI process output an absolute relevance score indicative of relevance of the features associated with the prediction which is indicative of percentage relevance/contribution of individual feature. The system further computes relative relevance score of the features by adding up all the features and calculating how much each individual feature is contributing to the total score. The relative relevance scores are utilized for determining explainability of decisions of the prediction.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for generating and displaying virtual number information using augmented reality technology. Interaction with virtual number information may be provided via an augmented reality display in relation to a payment object that is detected within a real-time view of an augmented reality application. Exemplary operations of the augmented reality application include providing a real-time view via the mobile device, processing a payment object shown via the real-time view, generating a virtual number based on processing of the payment object, and utilizing the generated virtual number.

Abstract: Methods are disclosed for fabricating a three-dimensional engineered blood retinal barrier (BRB) comprising a choroid and retinal pigment epithelial cells. The methods include the use of bioprinting. Also disclosed is a three-dimensional engineered BRB, and its use. Methods are also disclosed for using the three-dimensional engineered BRB, such as for the treatment of retinal degeneration in a subject or screening. A three-dimensional printing insert that is adapted for bioprinting on a culture substrate sheet that is securely retained within and exposed through a printing frame is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method may include detecting a keylogger based at least in part on an increase in power drawn by an input device, detecting the keylogger based at least in part on a driver of the input device, detecting the keylogger based at least in part on a duration of time that a signal generated by the input device takes to transmit to a computing device, or any combination thereof. The method may also include, in response to detecting the keylogger, generating an alert to indicate a presence of the keylogger.

Abstract: A method for designing a tool string for use in a wellbore includes receiving a merit function, and determining, with a computing system and based on the merit function, a tool string design for a tool string. The merit function comprises one or more defined objectives for performing a process in a wellbore. The tool string design comprises an indication of one or more tools used to form a tool string for performing the process in the wellbore, and the tool string design satisfies the merit function.

Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure include processors configured to perform steps to receive a tag data from a contactless communication tag, execute an applet associated with the contactless communication tag, and receive document data associated with an applet-linked document, including a document identifier, a document content data, a document recipient identifier, and a document sender identifier. The processors are configured to further generate an account link linking the document data to a user account associated with the document sender, generate a document entry in the user account based on the account link, generate a webpage from the applet to record the document data such that the document data is accessible upon subsequent reception of the contactless radio signal data, and display the document data and a current status of the applet-linked document on a display of the computing device associated with the contactless reader.

Abstract: A system may include a first computing device that receives identification data and an identifying parameter associate with a user and requests a second computing device to authenticate the user based on the identification data. The second computing system may query a first database for a first portion of authentication data based on the identifying parameter and then determine that a second portion of the authentication data exists based on the first portion of the authentication data. The first portion of the authentication data may include a pointer that identifies a second database that includes the second portion of authentication data such that the second computing device may retrieve it. The first and second portions of the authentication data may then be combined to form a combined authentication data to then be compared with the identification data, and the results of the comparison are sent to the first computing system.

Abstract: A drilling system for drilling a borehole. The drilling system includes a drilling fluid pump operable to circulate fluid through the borehole and a fluid analysis system to analyze returned fluid from the borehole. The fluid analysis system includes a sensor system, a recirculation system, and a control system in electronic communication with the drilling fluid pump and the recirculation system. The sensor system is operable to measure one or more properties of the returned fluid. The recirculation system includes a pump and controllable valves and is operable to control flow of the returned fluid through the fluid analysis system.

Abstract: Various embodiments described herein relate to a call management system that aims to provide a more efficient, secure, and dynamic technique for authenticating a user based on a location of the user. A server of the call management system receives a phone call from a user device. The server transfers the phone call to an analyst device. When the analyst device accepts the phone call, the server starts an electronic communication session between the user device and the analyst device. The server then determines a current location of the user. The server further determines a question for authentication of the user based on the current location. The server transmits the question to the analyst device. The analyst device transmits the question to the user device via the server. In response to an answer received from the user device, the server authenticates the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enhancing customer service are disclosed. The system can perform operations including detecting individuals and performing facial recognition on the individuals using visitor profiles stored by a local database. The operations can further include determining known visitors and unknown visitors among the individuals. The operations can further include generating new visitor profiles for the unknown visitors, obtaining identity information for the unknown visitors, and associating the identity information of the unknown visitors with the new visitor profiles. The operations can further include accessing identify information of the known visitors, obtaining personalized information for the known visitors from a central database, and providing the personalized information to the known visitors.

Abstract: Technology for placing a user on-hold can include sending a push notification to a user device after the call has been placed on-hold. A link in the push notification can request authentication credentials from the user. When the authentication credentials have been received and verified, a chat window can be launched via an application on the user device. The intent of the call can be determined based at least in part by information received via the chat window. The authentication information and the intent of the call can be transferred to a representative answering the call.
