Abstract: An example master telephone set constituting a telephone control system includes a status setting unit, a status discrimination unit, an incoming-call detection unit, a notification unit, and a master-set control unit for controlling the operations of the respective units. When, in a state in which the incoming-call detection unit has detected a new incoming call signal from any other line, the status discrimination unit discriminates that one line is in a call holding status, the master-set control unit controls the notification unit so that the pertinent incoming call is notified by, at least, tone information. On the other hand, when the status discrimination unit discriminates, in the same state, that one line is in an on-call status, the master-set control unit controls the notification unit so that the pertinent incoming call is notified by, at least, visible information.

  • Patent number: 7747206
Abstract: A fixing apparatus includes: a fixing roller and a pressure roller which transport a recording paper while sandwiching the recording paper P therebetween so that an unfixed toner image formed on the recording paper is fixed thereon under heat and pressure; two support rollers; an endless belt which is set over the support rollers and comes into contact with a surface of the fixing roller; and heater lamps which are provided respectively inside the support rollers. A fixing apparatus satisfies a relationship indicated by (C2+C3)/C1?2 where C1 is a heat capacity of each of the heater lamps, C2 is a heat capacity of each of the support rollers, and C3 is a heat capacity of the endless belt in each of areas where the endless belt is in contact with the support rollers. This realizes an external belt heat fixing apparatus which suppresses (a) heat damage to the endless belt and the surface of the fixing member and (b) unevenness of an image.

  • Publication number: 20100162028
Abstract: The invention provides, in one aspect, a virtual processor that includes one or more virtual processing units. These virtual processing units execute on one or more processors, and each virtual processing unit executes one or more processes or threads (collectively, “threads”). While the threads may be constrained to executing throughout their respective lifetimes on the same virtual processing units, they need not be. An event delivery mechanism associates events with respective threads and notifies those threads when the events occur, regardless of which virtual processing unit and/or processor the threads happen to be executing on at the time. The invention provides, in other aspects, virtual and/or digital data processors with improved dataflow-based synchronization. A process or thread (collectively, again, “thread”) executing within such processor can execute a memory instruction (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20100157576
Abstract: In a backlight apparatus, laminated optical sheets are housed in a tray such that a wall portion thereof surrounds their circumferences so that the optical sheets receive light from fluorescent lights. Tips of one corner portion A of optical sheets preferably have a shape in which the tips are trimmed by line segments extending between two edges defining the corner portions. At the wall portion of the tray, an opposing surface is formed along the line segments of the corner portions so as to correspond to the shape of the corner portions having tips trimmed off. The opposing surface restrains the line segments.

  • Publication number: 20100157344
Abstract: A method for minimizing re-imaging procedures for an imaging device is disclosed. A first set of imaging instructions for a hard copy of a document is received at an imaging device. The hard copy of the document is scanned in accordance with the first set of imaging instructions to create image data. The image data is retained in memory at an identified location until a purging event occurs. A second set of imaging instructions is received at the imaging device. It is then determined whether the hard copy of the document has been removed from the processing path of the imaging device since the scanning occurred using at least one sensor. If the hard copy of the document has not been removed, imaging output is produced in accordance with the second set of instructions using the image data without rescanning a hard copy of the document.
