Patent number: 7733105Abstract: In a voltage clamp circuit, a normally-on type field-effect transistor having a negative threshold voltage has a drain connected to an input node, a source connected to an output node and grounded via a resistance element, and a gate supplied with an output voltage of a variable direct-current power supply. When a voltage at the output node becomes higher than a clamping voltage because of voltage drop of the resistance element, the field-effect transistor is tuned off. Accordingly, the output voltage is limited to be at most the clamping voltage. Thus, a response speed is higher than those of conventional voltage clamp circuits using diodes or the like.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2008Date of Patent: June 8, 2010Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Yoshiaki Nozaki, Hiroshi Kawamura, John Kevin Twynam, Masatomo Hasegawa

Display apparatus for displaying text or images and outputting sounds based on text code information
Patent number: 7728826Abstract: In a display apparatus, a text code input section outputs externally-supplied text code information to a font conversion section and a voice synthesizer section. The font conversion section converts the input text code into a corresponding font, and transmits the font to a display drive section via a video signal input section, and the display drive section causes a display section to display the font. Meanwhile, the voice synthesizer section converts the input text code into corresponding voice data, and transmits the voice data to a voice device where the voice data is outputted. With this structure, superior convenience is ensured for a display apparatus which serves only as an individual displaying apparatus and relies on an external device (server) for the major functions of the system.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2004Date of Patent: June 1, 2010Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kazuhiko Miyata -

Patent number: 7728251Abstract: In a plasma processing apparatus, electromagnetic waves are radiated from slots of waveguides into a processing chamber via dielectric windows that are supported on beams, thereby generating a plasma. A substrate, which is an object of processing, is processed by the generated plasma. Dielectric plates are attached to those surfaces of the beams, which are opposed to the processing chamber. The thickness of each dielectric plate is set at ½ or more of the intra-dielectric wavelength of the electromagnetic waves. Using the plasma processing apparatus, a large-area processing can uniformly be performed.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2005Date of Patent: June 1, 2010Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Tetsuya Ide, Atsushi Sasaki, Kazufumi Azuma, Yukihiko Nakata
