Abstract: A model-based method for assessing acoustic signal quality in a heart monitoring device. The personal heart sound interval distribution of a person being actively monitored is compared with a modeled global heart sound interval distribution shared by most human beings after which processing action is taken consistent with the quality assessment. The error in the best fit between the personal interval distribution and the global interval distribution is presumed to be caused predominantly by noise, allowing the quality of the fit to serve as a proxy for the level of noise in the acoustic signal and used in making processing decisions.

Abstract: A display device uses a plurality of monitors to constitute a single image, achieves high contrast and, suppresses variations in luminance among the monitors. Each monitor is provided with an image analysis portion that finds a first feature quantity in a video display region corresponding to a region of an LED backlight, and a gradation control portion that determines a first luminance level for the corresponding LEDs region and calculates a luminance stretch quantity for stretching the first luminance levels uniformly. A microcomputer selects a minimum luminance stretch quantity from among the monitors and outputs the selected minimum luminance stretch quantity to the monitors. The gradation control portion for each monitor stretches the first luminance levels uniformly to determine a second luminance level on the basis of the minimum luminance stretch quantity acquired from the microcomputer.
Abstract: Provided is an image processing device. A first color space converting unit converts image data in an RGB colorimetric system, which has a color gamut wider than a color gamut of a liquid crystal panel into image data in an XYZ colorimetric system. A three-dimensional nonlinear color gamut converting unit performs conversion on tristimulus values of the XYZ signal. At this time, the image data is classified into four colors and converted respectively such that the first color is displayed in a color accurate to the inputted data, the second color is displayed such that saturation of the second color is increased, the third color is displayed using a color gamut of a predetermined range out of the color gamut of the liquid crystal panel, and the fourth color is displayed in a color corresponding to a boundary of the color gamut of the liquid crystal panel.
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) for reporting information is described. The UE includes a processor and instructions stored in memory that is in electronic communication with the processor. The UE selects a reference cell having a reference uplink-downlink (UL-DL) configuration. The UE also selects a first uplink subframe from the reference cell. The UE further selects a first subframe set from a first cell having a first UL-DL configuration. The first UL-DL configuration is different than the reference UL-DL configuration. The UE additionally determines a first set of associations between the first subframe set and the first uplink subframe. The UE further aggregates information corresponding to the reference cell and information corresponding to the first cell based on the first set of associations to produce aggregated information. The UE also reports the aggregated information on an uplink reporting cell.

Abstract: The present invention relates to antibodies that differentially recognize multi-dimensional conformations of A?-derived diffusible ligands, also known as ADDLs. The antibodies of the invention can distinguish between Alzheimer's Disease and control human brain extracts and are useful in methods of detecting ADDLs and diagnosing Alzheimer's Disease. The present antibodies also block binding of ADDLs to neurons, assembly of ADDLS, and tau phosphorylation and are there useful in methods for the preventing and treating diseases associated with soluble oligomers of amyloid ? 1-42.
