Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device (1) that is provided with a function of identifying the position of a subject to be detected (finger) in an image display region (12b) of a liquid crystal panel (10) by emitting light to the image display region (12b) and by detecting light reflected by the subject to be detected (finger). The liquid crystal display device is provided with a backlight (30) and a front light-emitting unit (40), which radiate light to the image display region (12b). The backlight (30) is disposed on the side of the liquid crystal panel (10) opposite to the image display surface (10a), and emits light to the image display region (12b) from the rear side of the liquid crystal panel (10). The front light-emitting unit (40) is disposed outside of the image display region (12b), and emits light to the image display region (12b) without having the liquid crystal panel (10) therebetween.
Abstract: In a display device with optical sensors, a recognition processing portion (22) performs recognition processing on a scan picture generated by optical sensors (2), and calculates a position. A mode control portion (24) determines whether or not the mode is standby so that the recognition processing portion (22) is stopped from operating. At the time of transition to the standby mode, decimated image memory (25) stores a decimated image with a decreased number of pixels. The mode control portion (24) performs pixel-by-pixel comparison between the stored decimated image and a decimated image supplied anew, and exits the standby mode when the number of pixels whose difference in pixel values is greater than or equal to a first threshold is greater than or equal to a second threshold.

The at least one light-transmitting cover includes a lens portion disposed astride the boundary for refracting a portion of light going out from the display region toward the frame region; and a viewer-side surface of the lens portion is a curved surface, and a rear-side surface of the lens portion is also a curved surface.
Abstract: A complex apparatus (image processing apparatus) requests the transmission of an identification number from a security box (data processing apparatus). The security box transmits the stored own identification number to the complex apparatus. When no response is received within a predetermined time after the request of transmission of the identification number, or alternatively when the identification number transmitted from the security box differs from the identification number of a security box stored in advance, the complex apparatus displays a warning screen indicating that the appropriate security box has been removed, on the displaying section of the operation panel, and then turns ON a notifying lamp.
Abstract: The number of pixels in an identified pixel region is counted, a feature point of the pixel region is extracted and the number of the feature points is counted when the number of the pixels counted has been determined to be equal to or higher than a first threshold value, whether the counted number of the feature points is equal to or lower than a second threshold value is determined, features is calculated based on the feature point extracted from the pixel region when the number of the feature points has been determined to be above the second threshold value, and the first threshold value is changed when the number of the feature points has been determined to be equal to or lower than the second threshold value. Image similarity determination process can be stably performed without any degradation in determination accuracy.

This makes it possible to efficiently execute the program in synchronization with reproduction of AV data or the like.
Abstract: An ejection device in which a multi-nozzle mechanism including failure nozzles ejects droplets such that variation in amounts of droplets (spacers) is prevented and droplets are disposed on spacer regions of a substrate. An ejection device includes a multi-nozzle mechanism including a pair of nozzle row units prepared by equally dividing a nozzle row including a plurality of nozzles ejecting a spacer dispersion liquid, a moving mechanism relatively moving the multi-nozzle mechanism and a substrate in the longitudinal direction and the align direction of spacer regions, and a control mechanism controlling the nozzles and the moving mechanism. When one nozzle row unit includes a failure nozzle, the control mechanism gives a command to the failure nozzle not to eject the liquid and a command to a corresponding nozzle of the other unit to halve cycles of forward and backward paths.

Abstract: When a base station apparatus and a mobile station apparatus communicate with each other using a wider frequency band consists of multiple carrier components, efficient communication is achieved without increasing control information (control signal) notified from the base station apparatus to the mobile station apparatus. The base station apparatus and the mobile station apparatus communicate with each other such that each of multiple uplink carrier components corresponds to each of multiple downlink carrier components or multiple downlink carrier component groups including multiple downlink carrier components.
Abstract: Due to NACK-to-ACK misinterpretations in base stations, packets are lost, and there may be gaps in a re-ordering buffer of a base station. According to the present invention, when the receiver decodes—possibly after some retransmissions—a first data packet without an error, which first data packet is sent along with an indicator indicating that the first data packet is a new data packet, after the receiver has sent a negative confirmation message (NACK) with respect to a second data packet, the receiver sends a Revert (REV) message to the transmitter. The REV message informs the base station that the first data packet was decoded error-free, and that the second data packet is still missing on the receiving side so that the base station may re-send this second data packet.
