Abstract: When a handwritten image is input using a handwriting input device while an image based on any general data stored in a storage unit is being displayed on a display unit, the input/output apparatus displays a handwritten image in addition to the displayed image, and creates handwritten data including data specifying information specifying general data which is a basis for the displayed image. The input/output apparatus terminates the display of the handwritten image when the display of the image superposed by the handwritten image is terminated, and displays the image based on the data specified by the data specifying information included in the handwritten data when the handwritten image is displayed. This allows the association between the displayed image and the handwritten image to be saved and to easily be reproduced.

Abstract: The present invention provides an image data generating method in which a combined image is not distorted at the boundary area between a left eye image and a right eye image even when the combined image has been compressed with lossy compression among three-dimensional image data generating methods in which a combined image is generated by combining a left eye image and a right eye image. The three-dimensional image data generating method includes a combined image generating step (SA2 or SA3) in which the combined image including a buffer region between the left eye image and the right eye image is generated while the left eye image and the right eye image are arranged, and an image date compressing step (SA4) in which the picture signal of the combined image generated in the combined image generating step (SA2 or SA3) is compressed with lossy compression.

Abstract: A multi-dimensional energy control system is provided with an energy management software application that organizes the consumption of energy by a device as an n-dimensional energy space, where n is an integer greater than 2, and each axis in the energy space represents an energy consumption characteristic. The energy management application generates instructions for a device in response to calculating a compromise operating point in the energy space. A user interface (UI) connected to the energy management application has a display to receive a graphical representation of the energy space and compromise operating point, and an input to receive user commands for moving the represented compromise operating point in the represented energy space. The energy management application calculates the compromise operating point in the energy space to match the displayed compromise operating point.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes display panels included in each of an operation unit 130 and a display unit 136, and a control unit causing the two display panels to successively make transitions to a power save mode if a prescribed time period has passed without any operation to the operation unit 130. If priority is given to the operation, the control unit first causes the display panel of display unit 136 to make a transition to the power save mode, and thereafter causes the display panel of the operation unit 130 to the power save mode. If the priority is given to the display, the control unit causes the display panel of operation unit 130 to make a transition to the power save mode, and thereafter causes the display panel of display unit 136 to make a transition to the power save mode. Thus, wasteful power consumption by the two display panels can be reduced.
