The driving method includes steps of: determining whether an image to be displayed is a static image; performing hierarchical segmentation on the static image if a determination result is yes; regulating an output brightness proportional coefficient of each pixel based on a hierarchical segmentation result; and outputting brightness of each pixel according to a corresponding output brightness proportional coefficient. The driving method can significantly reduce generation of a residual image when a static image is displayed.
