    Abstract: An optimization method for UAV-based wireless information and energy transmission includes following steps: S1: reporting, by a wireless device, an energy state of the wireless device to a UAV; S2: detecting, by the UAV, a channel state between the UAV and the wireless device; and S3: selecting, by the UAV, an optimal action based on estimated revenue maximization according to an electric quantity of the UAV, an electric quantity of the wireless device, and the channel state. The use of the wireless device can reduce wiring costs, beautify the space, and ensure a smaller size and a lower power. By applying the UAV to information and energy transmission for the wireless devices, the data transmission rate and the energy conversion efficiency of networks are improved.

An exemplary system includes a communication interface configured to receive a video signal from a camera. The video signal includes a sequence of image frames. The system further includes at least one processor coupled to the communication interface. The at least one processor detects one or more vehicles and one or more road identifiers in the image frames, transforms a perspective of each image frame from a camera view to a top view, determines a trajectory of each detected vehicle in the transformed image frames, identifies an accident based on the determined trajectory of each vehicle, and determines a type of the accident and a fault of each vehicle involved in the accident.

    Abstract: A VCSEL array comprises series-connected VCSEL sub-arrays formed on a single chip. The VCSEL sub-arrays each comprises VCSEL emitters fabricated on a semi-insulating layer. A common cathode contact of a VCSEL sub-array is electrically connected to a common anode contact of a neighboring VCSEL sub-array. To reduce leakage, the bandgap energy level of the semi-insulating layer is higher than the photon energy of the output beam. In one embodiment, the semi-insulating layer is grown on a conductive layer. A common cathode contact of the last VCSEL sub-array in a series is electrically connected to the conductive layer. In another embodiment, multiple wire-bonding areas are electrically connected to common anode contacts of multiple VCSEL sub-arrays respectively. The wire-bonding areas provide different input impedance options for a VCSEL array.
