Abstract: A light emitting diode substrate assembly has a metal substrate, a circuit board, multiple chip strings, an annular wall and an encapsulant. The circuit board is mounted on the top surface of the substrate and has multiple through holes and multiple current conducting lines. The chip strings are mounted on the substrate and respectively in the through hole in the circuit board. Each chip string has at least one light emitting diode chip connected electrically to two corresponding current conducting lines on the circuit board with bonding wires. Accordingly, the heat generating during the operation of the chips can be efficiently dissipated from the substrate.

Abstract: A hinge assembly has a pintle, a stationary leaf, a rotating leaf, a rotating pressing disk, a stationary pressing disk, a biasing assembly and a fastener. The rotating pressing disk is mounted rotatably around the pintle, is attached non-rotatably to the rotating leaf and has a track face, an inner track and an outer track. The stationary pressing disk is mounted securely around the pintle and has a protrusion face, an inner protrusion and an outer protrusion. The inner and outer protrusions respectively contact slidably with the inner and outer track on the rotating pressing disk. With the arrangement of the inner and outer tracks on the rotating pressing disk and the inner and outer protrusions on the stationary pressing disk, the resistance provided by the hinge assembly is variable.

  • Publication number: 20110088219
Abstract: A hinge assembly has a pintle, a torque assembly and a resistance assembly. The pintle has a head formed on the pintle. The torque assembly is mounted on the pintle at a first side of the head to provide a force to automatically open the cover relative to the body to a first angle. The resistance assembly is mounted on the pintle at a second side of the head to provide a frictional force to hold the cover at a second angle relative to the body when the cover is closed relative to the body. Accordingly, the cover can be pivoted open relative to the body automatically with the torque provided by the torque assembly.

  • Patent number: 7922133
Abstract: A flat panel display (FPD) support has a supporting bracket, a connecting assembly pivotally connected to the supporting bracket and a pulling assembly mounted between the supporting bracket and the connecting assembly. The connecting assembly is attached to an FPD to allow the supporting bracket to hold the FPD on a plane. The pulling assembly pulls the supporting bracket toward the panel bracket and a weight of the FPD allows the FPD and the supporting bracket leaning to each other to stay in a specific angle. Therefore, a visual angle of the FPD relative to a plane is easily adjusted by the supporting assembly. The FPD with the FPD support is light, simple and portable and is conveniently packaged for sale or transportation and does not occupy a large area when in use.

Abstract: A transverse-positioning hinge has a seat, at least one elastic ball, a shaft and a fastening washer. The elastic ball is mounted in the seat. The shaft is mounted through the seat and has at least one positioning detent selectively engaging the elastic ball. The fastening washer is attached to the end of the shaft. Adjusting the tightness for attaching the fastening washer changes the deformation of the elastic ball, and then the resilient force provided by the elastic ball is also adjusted. Therefore, the positioning force provided by the elastic ball is adjustable without changing the elastic ball.

Abstract: A lamp has multiple arms and multiple hinges mounted between two adjacent arms. The hinge has a stationary leaf, multiple pivot assemblies being mounted in the stationary leaf and multiple brackets being respectively connected to the pivot assemblies and two corresponding brackets are attached to each arm. Each pivot assembly has a shaft and a locking nut being mounted on the shaft and selectively engaging a locking hole of each bracket. Since the locking nuts selectively engage the locking holes of the brackets, an angle between the adjacent arms can be adjusted and fixed. Further, two adjacent arms do not influence each other's position, which is convenient for adjusting.

  • Publication number: 20110047748
Abstract: A hinge is mounted in an electronic device with a cover and a base. The hinge has a first pivoting assembly, a second pivoting assembly and a resilient unit. The first pivoting assembly has a resilient plug. The resilient plug is mounted between the second pivoting assembly and the resilient unit to provide friction and to keep the second pivoting assembly from departing from the first pivoting assembly. The friction is adjusted by changing the resilience of the resilient plug or the resilient unit, or by changing the thickness of the resilient plug. Therefore, preciseness of the size of other component is less required to reduce the manufacturing cost.

Abstract: A portable electronic device with an inverted-type hinge has a cover connected to a stationary bracket, a side shell connected to a tilting assembly, a cover connected to an inverting assembly and a sliding assembly being eccentric to a tilting shaft. With cooperation between the inverting assembly and the tilting assembly, the cover may be inverted to reveal a display that leans against the base. Therefore, the user easily touches the display without pivoting the cover. Furthermore, the sliding assembly lifts the cover while the cover is opened relative to the base to prevent the cover from impacting the base.

  • Patent number: 7861377
Abstract: An abrasion-enhanced hinge has a pintle, a washer assembly and a stationary leaf. The pintle is connected securely to a cover of an electronic device. The washer assembly has multiple stationary washers and multiple rotating washers. The stationary and rotating washers are mounted interlacedly around the pintle. The stationary washers are connected securely to each other. The rotating washers are connected securely to the pintle. The stationary leaf is connected securely to a base of the electronic device and is connected securely to the nearest stationary washer. When the cover is pivoted to the base, the pintle is rotated relative to the stationary leaf. Thus, the rotating washers are rotated relative to the stationary washers. Because the stationary and rotating washers are mounted interlacedly, the rotations between the stationary and rotating washers provide a lot of abrasions. Therefore, the hinge provides enhanced abrasion.

Abstract: A variable friction hinge is mounted between a cover and a base of an electronic device and has a pintle, a stationary leaf and a washer assembly. The pintle is connected to the cover. The stationary leaf is connected to the base and has an activating panel with an activating edge. The washer assembly has a movable washer, an abrasion washer and a biasing member. The movable washer selectively abuts the activating edge of the activating panel and has an elongated hole slidably mounted securely around the pintle. The movable and the abrasion washers have teeth corresponding to and selectively engaging each other, causing less friction when engaged and more friction when disengaged. When rotated the movable washer selectively disengages the teeth causing the hinge to have greater friction when being rotated one way than the other.
