  • Patent number: 7381415
Abstract: A first subject of the present invention is a composite powder having antibacterial and antifungal effect, in which a base powder, zinc oxide and/or zinc basic carbonate, and alkali metal salt are combined. In the composite powder, it is preferable that the base powder is an adsorbing site for adsorbing a specified enzyme, and a site in which zinc oxide and/or zinc basic carbonate and alkali metal salt are combined is an acting site having enzyme inhibiting or activating property. In the composite powder, it is preferable that the zeta-potential of an adsorbing site at pH to be used is a negative value, and the zeta-potential of an adsorbing site at pH 7.5 is ?10 mV or lower. A second subject of the present invention is a cosmetic composition comprising the aforementioned composite powder. The composite powder can be also used as a skin roughening improving agent, a sensitive skin caring agent or a pimpled skin caring agent.

  • Publication number: 20080107472
Abstract: The outer face of a distal end part having a discharge opening 1c at the distal end of an applicator 100 is a sloped face 1a, so that skin or another surface to be coated can be coated favorably, and when a moving body 6 advances as far as it can, an elastic body 9 provided to the distal end of the moving body 6 hits a sloped face 1b that is the inner face of the distal end part having the discharge opening 1c at the distal end of the applicator 100, and elastically deforms along said sloped face 1b, and an application material L that could not be pushed out with a conventional piston and would remain in a substantially hoof-shaped (sloped cylindrical) space (a space including the sloped face 1b within the applicator distal end) can be completely pushed out by the elastic body 9, leaving almost none behind, so that all of it can be consumed.

  • Publication number: 20070253989
Abstract: The present invention provides a modified powder that is obtainable by coating the surface of a base powder with a hydrophobizing agent and a cationic surfactant. In the modified powder described above, it is preferable that the amount of coated hydrophobizing agent and the amount of coated cationic surfactant are 3 to 90% by mass and 0.5 to 10% by mass, respectively, relative to the self weight of the base powder. In the modified powder described above, it is preferable that the mass ratio of the coated hydrophobizing agent and the coated cationic surfactant is from 1:1 to 9:1. In addition, the present invention provides a cosmetic composition comprising the above modified powder wherein the modified powder and the base powder have an ultraviolet scattering effect. In the cosmetic composition described above, it is preferable that the blended amount of the modified powder is from 0.5 to 100% by mass.

  • Publication number: 20070207098
Abstract: The present invention provides an antioxidant and a whitening agent having high safety, and a external preparation for skin using the same. The antioxidant and whitening agent comprise, as an effective component, one or more extracts from Basidiomycetes selected from the group consisting of Pleurotus abalonus, Pholiota squarrosa, Onnia orientalis, Astraeus hygrometricus and Pleurotus nebrodensis. These extracts have a free radical capturing ability and are useful for suppressing skin oxidation and for preventing and improving skin aging. In addition, the extracts have a tyrosinase activity inhibiting action and can suppress the melanin generation. Since the fruit bodies of these Basidiomycetes have been used for edible purpose and have high safety, they can be used preferably for an external preparation for skin.
