Abstract: A piezoelectric bimorph element two piezoelectric elements to produce an electromotive force by imparting a stress to respective piezoelectric elements. The piezoelectric bimorph element is arranged in an oscillator such that the piezoelectric bimorph element is deformed in the electromotive force generating direction. An electrode having a predetermined area connected with a good electric conductor which is connected to conduct a current generated from the piezoelectric bimorph element is arranged at a patting part interlocked with the oscillator to oscillate. An electrode of opposite pole is connected with the piezoelectric bimorph element through the good electric conductor and arranged at a handle to be coupled with the oscillator, and a rectifier for rectifying an AC electromotive force generated by oscillating the oscillator is arranged to connect the good electric conductors which are connected with both electrodes.
Abstract: The present invention provides an antioxidant and a whitening agent having high safety, and a external preparation for skin using the same. The antioxidant and whitening agent comprise, as an effective component, one or more extracts from Basidiomycetes selected from the group consisting of Pleurotus abalonus, Pholiota squarrosa, Onnia orientalis, Astraeus hygrometricus and Pleurotus nebrodensis. These extracts have a free radical capturing ability and are useful for suppressing skin oxidation and for preventing and improving skin aging. In addition, the extracts have a tyrosinase activity inhibiting action and can suppress the melanin generation. Since the fruit bodies of these Basidiomycetes have been used for edible purpose and have high safety, they can be used preferably for an external preparation for skin.

The sedative effect-imparting agent according to the present invention provides excellent sedative effect immediately, since it consists of dimethoxybenzene that provides excellent sedative effect with good fragrance-releasing property.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a laminated member with an recorded information code, having a high reading accuracy, which do not detract from product design and which do not require a special reading apparatus. A laminated member 10 of the present invention comprises a transparent material layer 12 on which an information code is recorded, and a reflection-reduction layer 14 provided at the opposite side from a side where the information code is observed. The transparent layer 12 comprises low-reflectance portions 18 and high-reflectance portions 16 having a higher reflectance than the low-reflectance portions 18. The information code is recorded as a distributed pattern of the high-reflectance portions 16. The reflection-reduction layer 14 reduces reflected light advancing to the transparent material layer 12.
Abstract: The present invention provides a microgel having a mean particle size of 0.1-1,000 ?m, the microgel being produced from a gel which is formed by use of a hydrophilic compound capable of forming a gel. An external composition containing the microgel provides an excellent sensation during use; i.e., the composition provides neither sticky sensation during use nor frictional sensation. Furthermore, even when a large amount of a pharmaceutical ingredient, such as a whitening ingredient, or a salt is incorporated into the composition, the viscosity of the composition is not lowered, and the composition exhibits excellent viscosity increasing property. In addition, the composition exhibits long-term stability, without inviting separation of water.
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a water-in-oil type emulsion sunscreen cosmetic which can achieve excellent UV protection capability and have excellent effects in the prevention and inhibition stability of smell change with the passage of time. The water-in-oil type emulsion sunscreen cosmetic in the present invention is characterized by comprising 0.2 to 10% by mass (a) octocrylene, 0.2 to 30% by mass (b) hydrophobized titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide, 0.02 to 8% by mass (c) phenylbenzimidazole sulfonate, (d) a neutralizer for the above-mentioned component (c), and further, if desired, 0.01 to 20% by mass (e) silicone surfactant.

Abstract: The method for producing a disintegratable zinc oxide powder of the present invention is characterized by comprising: neutralizing an aqueous solution containing a water-soluble zinc salt and a carboxylic acid or an aqueous solution containing a water-soluble zinc carboxylate with an alkali carbonate to produce precipitate; and firing the precipitate to obtain zinc oxide powder. As a water-soluble zinc salt, zinc chloride or zinc acetate is preferably used. As an acid, acetic acid is preferably used. As an alkali carbonate, sodium carbonate is preferably used. The disintegratable zinc oxide powder has the morphology in which the primary particles of zinc oxide are aggregated to form secondary particles, and these secondary particles are further aggregated to form the zinc oxide powder. The powder can achieve excellent UV protection capability, excellent transparency, and excellent feeling in use through its disintegration. Also, it has good usability and good handling properties.
Abstract: A classifying method according to an eye form considers the eye form feature as an important factor, to provide an eye cosmetic treatment method for appropriately and quickly making up the eye so that the eye balances and looks large and attractive according to the type categorized by the classifying method. A makeup tool is devised by integrating an eye form feature analyzing method with a form shaping method by markup. An eye form classifying method uses as indexes, three forms, namely, the eye frame form showing the shape of the eye contour, the eye form showing the three-dimensional shape of the eye, and the angle form of the inner corner and outer edge, the eye forms are classified. The eye forms are classified by comparing the eye form with the eye form of a reference balanced eye.
Abstract: The present invention provides an external composition for skin that has excellent effects in improving elasticity and alleviating wrinkles while moisturizing the skin, has good spreadability on the skin, and has no stickiness. The external composition for skin of the present invention is characterized by comprising: (A) an acrylic polymer comprising the following monomers (a1), (a2), and (a3) as constituent monomers: (a1) acrylic acid or methacrylic acid; (a2) an alkyl acrylate or alkyl methacrylate; and (a3) an ester between acrylic acid or methacrylic acid and polyoxyethylene alkyl ether; and (B) a cross-linked polyamino acid or its salt. In the external composition for skin of the present invention, it is preferable that (A) is 0.01 to 10.0 weight % as a polymer, and (B) is 0.0001 to 5.0 weight % as a polymer.
Abstract: The objective of this invention is to provide an oil-based cleansing composition which retains high performance capability for cleansing, is free from the occurrence of cloudiness in the appearance and does not cause the reduction of the performance capability for massaging, even when water is interfused therein, and further is reduced in the irritation to an eye and is of good safety. An oil-based cleansing composition of this invention is characterized in that comprising (A) a nonionic surfactant having a HLB of 6 to 14, and (B) an oil component, and said oil-based cleansing composition satisfies the following conditions (1) and (2): (1) the amount of water in the composition is less than 5% by mass, and (2) a micellar aqueous solution phase or a bicontinuous microemulsion phase is formed when said oil-based cleansing composition and water are mixed in the ratio of 4:6.

Abstract: Stick-shaped solid cosmetic 10 comprises a wax with a melting point of 45° C. or higher and liquid oil, wherein the hardness of top portion 16 is 0.07 N to 0.38 N and the hardness of boundary portion 20, which is a border between a retained portion in inner holder 12 and a portion outside of the inner holder 12, is 0.03 N to 0.31 N higher than the hardness of the top portion, and wherein the hardness gradually increases from the top portion 16 to the boundary portion 20. Thus, the stick-shaped solid cosmetic 10 has smooth spreadability and excellent product strength.
