Abstract: Provided is a ratchet buckle for helmets wherein an engagement/releasing member having an engagement part is assembled to the buckle, via a pin, between the base member and operating member, and therefore when the operating member is pulled up and rotated in the counterclockwise direction, the front end of the operating member contacts the front end of the engagement/releasing member and the engagement with the tab of the ratchet is released by rotation of the engagement part of the engagement/releasing member, and because the engagement is released by pulling up the operating member by at least twice the conventional pull-up distance, the helmet will not come off from the head as a result of a wrong or inadvertent lever operation and thus safety can be ensured, while the thickness of the ratchet buckle can be kept small.

  • Publication number: 20130106791
Abstract: There is a conventional input device wherein a blind operation is easy because a touch panel type operation unit and a display unit are separately arranged at locations distant from each other, but such a conventional input device requires a camera for photographing a user's hand on the operation unit, and image processing for converting the photographed image of the hand and combining the image on the display unit, and thus, simplification of the processing method has been desired. Further, reducing the number of components used for such a device has been desired.

  • Publication number: 20130081199
Abstract: A chin guard support mechanism includes first and second fixed-side members, and a moving-side member fixed to the chin guard. When the chin guard pivots forward from a down position in a rising direction, an annular following surface provided on the moving-side member pivots forward while following an annular followed surface provided on the second fixed-side member to make the chin guard rise while moving forward. It is possible to provide a helmet that allows the chin guard support mechanism capable of relatively excellently raising/lowering the chin guard to have a simple structure, allows to operate the chin guard support mechanism smoothly, obviates the necessity of making the structure in a region including an end of the chin guard including the chin guard support mechanism and a vicinity thereof bulky, and obviates the necessity of making the widthwise size of the helmet large.

  • Patent number: 8239970
Abstract: In a helmet according to this invention, a recess-projection fitting mechanism to attach a blockish inside pad on a head protecting cap portion side includes a male hook or female hook on the blockish inside pad side, and a female hook or male hook on the head protecting cap portion. When pulling the inside pad outward from inside the head protecting cap portion at least partly, a recess-projection fitting disengaging slant surface causes one hook to relatively levitate from the other hook, thus relatively disengaging the male hook from the female hook. This invention can provide the helmet which, when worn by a head of a helmet wearer, can be removed with a comparatively small force, and the detaching operation of which can be performed easily and reliably with a comparatively simple arrangement.

  • Patent number: 8087099
Abstract: A cap-like head backing cover includes a plurality of types of cover components. The plurality of types of cover components include cover main body portions, and connecting means capable of separably connecting and combining the cover main body portions of one of the cover components to and with the cover main body portions of another at least one of the cover components. The cover main body portions of the plurality of types of cover components are connected to and combined with each other by the connecting means, to form the cap-like head backing cover which includes the plurality of types of cover components and is independent. With the helmet having this arrangement, even when a helmet wearer whose head shape is different from that of an average human head is to wear the helmet, the helmet can be matched to the head of the helmet wearer substantially optimally. The helmet size can be not only partially decreased but also partially increased.

  • Patent number: 8069499
Abstract: A helmet shield attaching mechanism with which when raising a shield, the shield and/or an anti-fogging auxiliary shield will not catch on a window opening rim member for a head protecting body, in spite that the operation of raising the shield in a fully-closed state is comparatively simple and that the mechanism has a comparatively simple structure. The helmet shield attaching mechanism includes a stationary base member fixing to the head protecting body, a movable base member attaching to the stationary base member so as to be movable forward and backward with respect to the stationary base member, and the shield which is pivotally supported by the movable base member. When a substantially upward force acts on the shield which is in a fully-closed state, at least one cam follower provided to the shield or stationary base member relatively follows at least one cam surface formed on the stationary base member or shield, to move the shield forward substantially to the front side.

  • Patent number: 7805775
Abstract: A neck cover (51) includes a flexible cover member (53) and a to-be-attached portion (52) which serves to attach the flexible cover member (53) to a head protecting body (3) of a full-face-type helmet (1). The flexible cover member (53) comprises a substantially plate-like flexible cushion member (56) and a flexible support member (57) which supports the flexible cushion member (56). The flexible cover member (53) is mainly made of a substantially plate-like foamed synthetic resin, a permeability of which measured by using a Frajour type method based on JIS L 1096 falls within a range of 0.1 to 10 cc/cm2·sec (preferably 0.2 to 5 cc/cm2·sec and more preferably 0.3 to 2 cc/cm2·sec). Therefore, a sound which is generated by a traveling wind as it is caught in a ventilator, stabilizer, or the like is effectively prevented from being heard as loud noise to a helmet wearer.
