    Abstract: A process for producing a chassis for vehicles, which includes the steps of fabricating a single frame element of aluminum alloy, the frame element having an upper beam, a lower beam and a web portion connecting between the two beams, removing some of the web portion to a desired length, pulling the upper beam and lower beam of the web vacant portion in opposite directions so that the web vacant portion becomes an expanded opening, bending the frame element in accordance with the size and shape of the body of a vehicle to be placed on the chassis, and welding the terminating ends of the frame element to form an endless frame.

    Abstract: A method for producing corrosion resistance heat exchangers having a plurality of aluminum tubular elements and fin members, the method comprising immersing the tubular elements in a bath with passing an electric current so that the surfaces thereof are covered with zinc layers of 0.3 .mu.m or more in thickness; combining the zinc plated tubular elements with fin members covered with a brazing sheet so that a core is provisionally formed; painting the provisional core with a non-corrosive flux; and placing the provisional core in a furnace to braze the fin members to the tubular elements, and also to enable the zinc layers to diffuse over the surfaces of the tubular elements.

In this alloy, primary Si crystals 40 to 80 microns in particle size occupy at least 60% of the area occupied by all the primary Si crystals in the aluminum matrix, and eutectic Si crystals up to 10 microns in particle size occupy at least 60% of the area occupied by all the eutectic Si crystals in the matrix. The primary and eutectic Si crystals are uniformly dispersed throughout the matrix. A process for preparing the extruded aluminum alloy is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A process for treating the surface of aluminum foil for use as an electrode of electrolytic capacitors to increase the surface area of the foil to the greatest possible extent includes the three steps of pre-etching treatment, intermediate nitric acid treatment and post-etching treatment. The pre-etching treatment is conducted electrolytically in an aqueous solution of chromic acid and at least one of chromic acid and chromates. The intermediate nitric acid treatment is carried out by immersing the pre-etched foil in an aqueous solution of nitric acid to remove a chromate film formed by the pre-etching from the foil surface, especially from the interior of the resulting pits. The post-etching treatment is conducted electrolytically in an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, or hydrochloric acid and an oxidizing acid.
