Abstract: A system supports creation and modification of a flexible and comprehensive organization structure model able to support provision of clinical care, patient tracking, billing and administration via a user friendly display interface. A method maintains organization related information for use in supporting organization operation. The method involves establishing a profile comprising information identifying an encompassing organization structure including information identifying a plurality of constituent organizations. The profile incorporates attributes for constituent individual organizations including, a constituent organization type identifier, and a user determinable role identifier. The role identifier indicates a role of a constituent organization in the encompassing organization structure. The method also involves employing the profile in providing a user with information concerning a constituent organization in response to user command.

Abstract: A medical information system processes information from multiple sources suitable for access by healthcare personnel for use in clinical (e.g., critical) care delivery. The system includes a communication interface for receiving information from patient monitoring devices and for bidirectionally communicating with a hospital information database containing patient records. The system also includes a data processor using the communication interface for acquiring patient record information from the hospital information database and for acquiring information from patient monitoring devices. The data processor updates the acquired patient record information based on the acquired information from the patient monitoring devices and communicates updated patient record information to the hospital information database, A display processor initiates display of the updated patient record information to a user.

Abstract: A system and method for ordering healthcare services wherein a list of selectable orders for medical services for a given patient is dynamically generated based on medical information of the patient (e.g., the patient's condition or set of conditions) and presented to a user (e.g., a physician). In one aspect, a system for ordering patient specific healthcare services comprises a user interface that enables a user to input a medical condition of a patient and to select desired medical services from a list of orderable medical services presented to the user; a services database comprising a plurality of predetermined medical services that are each associated with a medical condition; and an engine for compiling the list of orderable medical services from one or more predetermined medical services in the services database that are associated with the input medical conditions of the patient.

Abstract: The present inventions comprise a system and method for assigning an identifier to at least one of a plurality of displayable task schedules associated with a corresponding plurality of different entities, the identifier representing a task requiring action by an entity. The method involves initiating generation of at least one display image in response to user command. The display image or images support the identification of an event and an associated parameter as well as the designation of a predetermined process associated with the identified event. The display image or images also support user indication of the parameter to be provided to the predetermined process in response to occurrence of the event.

Abstract: A communication system and data format extracts required object data from a database and updates the database with amended or new object data and associated data relationships following optional modification of the object data by an external system. A communication data format is used for communicating data between applications for storage and retrieval. The data format includes a data field for conveying a data item and a plurality of attributes associated with the data field. The plurality of attributes include a data type identifier for use in determining an executable procedure to be used in processing the data item, and at least one other attribute used in determining particular operations to be applied in processing the data item by the executable procedure.

Abstract: In an embodiment of the present inventions, a work flow process may be generated by decomposing functions of a clinical information system into discrete tasks including an individual task associated with a first pre-configured executable procedure for implementing the individual task and associating a user selectable image element with the pre-configured first executable procedure used in implementing the individual task. In a currently envisioned embodiment, integratable work flow processes according to the present invention may be provided to a vertical application system. Abstract: A system consolidates records of services from multiple customer accounts, encounters, cases or visits into one account to facilitate comprehensive billing and reimbursement compatible with selected contract (e.g., Medicare health plan) rules for disparate services provided to a customer. A method determines payment for provision of multiple different services based on predetermined reimbursement rules. The method involves receiving a record identifying a service provided to a specific entity and automatically creating a reimbursement record. The reimbursement record groups an item identifying the provided service together with an item identifying an other service provided to the specific entity based on predetermined service record allocation rules. A reimbursement amount for the identified provided service and the other service provided to the specific entity is calculated based on a reimbursement contract.

Abstract: A user friendly interface system enables a user to incorporate, in an executable application, custom decision logic in the form of an expression involving a high-level script language. A system supports use of user customizable expressions by a plurality of different executable applications. The system involves a database for associating a particular application of the plurality of different executable applications with a particular data item of a plurality of selectable data items available for incorporation in a user entered expression. The database is also employed in excluding use by the particular application of another data item of the plurality of selectable data items. An interface processor receives a user entered expression and incorporates the particular data item in the user entered expression to provide a resultant expression for use by the particular application.

The user interface system facilitates selection of a plurality of items from a display of hierarchically organized items. The user interface system includes a user interface image generator for providing data representing a displayable image showing a hierarchical organization of user selectable icons visually identifying whether the selectable icons are currently selected. The hierarchical organization of icons links a parent icon representing a first group of data items with multiple child icons representing corresponding data items of the first group and an individual one of the child icons links to a second group of grandchild icons representing a corresponding second group of data items.

Abstract: The present invention allows developers of user installable software interfaces to generate end user installation procedures and documentation for the interface through a software solution. The method of the present invention reads interface configuration data present within a description of the interface and creates an installation guide that reflects that interface as it then exists. Guide creation may occur in real-time. In a preferred embodiment, the method of the present invention for automated generation of installation instructions for an interface comprises deriving installation related information from configuration data associated with the interface; retrieving template installation instruction information from a persistent data store; and incorporating the derived installation related information into the template installation information to form an installation instruction data file that may be formatted in numerous ways.

Abstract: A system and a method for monitoring computer application and resource utilization are presented. In one embodiment, a list of different users associated with different entities or customers of a shared computer is maintained. A second list of different applications invoked by one or more of the different users is also maintained. A third list including different programs employed by the different applications invoked by the different users, including a weighting factor for each program is also maintained. These records are then used to identify operation usage and/or cost characteristics of the different applications by particular users associated with different entities of the shared computer, in response to an event.

Further, a catalog system maintains and processes a catalog of product information supporting commercial transactions and includes a bidirectional communication processor supporting communication with a remote application.

Abstract: A system dynamically maps (and translates) codes and identifier values of any type to corresponding codes and identifiers of other entities. A method for determining a specific identifier code for an object associated with a plurality of identifier codes by a corresponding plurality of entities involves receiving a first message including at least a first identifier code identifying an object. The first identifier code is extracted from the received first message and a second message is generated incorporating the extracted first identifier code. The second message is used for initiating a search of an identifier code database mapping an identifier code associated with a first entity to a corresponding identifier code associated with a second entity. A second identifier code corresponding to the first identifier code is received in response to communicating the second message for initiating a search of the identifier code database.
