Abstract: A flame measuring device, in particular for use in a regulating device for a burner, includes an ionization electrode which is arranged in a flame region of the burner. An ac voltage is applied to the ionization electrode whereby a dc voltage component is superimposed on an ionization current that flows through a resistor connected to the ionization electrode. The flame region influences the ac voltage and the dc voltage at a blocking capacitor unequally, and allows an ac voltage component to be separated from the dc voltage component by way of a first means. The separated ac voltage component can be compared to a separated-off dc voltage component by way of a second means in order to produce a pulse width-modulated signal.
Abstract: The invention makes it possible to execute the pre-control and the fine interpolation in the drive (A) in the fast drive clock (tDR) with a slower path pre-setting in the clock (tNC) of the NC. For this purpose, in each NC clock (tNC) a setpoint speed value (nNC*) and the P gain (kP) of the NC position controller (L_NC) and the desired axle speed (nNC) and the average axle speed (nNCMW) during the last NC position controller clock are transferred from the NC to the drive. From this information, polynomial segments of the third degree are in each case generated on the drive side, valid for the duration of an NC position controller clock (tNC). They are constructed in such a way that the speed at the polynomial transitions is constant. A variable component of the position polynomial is determined as the fine position component xF, with which the setpoint position values are finely interpolated in the drive.

Abstract: A method of diverting flow with a valve through a first filter and a second filter to purify exhaust gas with at least one of the filters and to regenerate at least one of the filters with the exhaust gas. Positioning the valve in a first operative position purifies the exhaust gas with the first filter and regenerates the second filter with the exhaust gas. Positioning the valve in a second operative position that is different that the first operative position purifies the exhaust gas with the second filter and regenerates the first filter with the exhaust gas. The method can be achieved by a valve for an exhaust system that including a body and a flow inhibitor. The body defines a volume and has a first inlet, a second inlet, a recirculation chamber, and an outlet chamber in fluid communication with the volume.

Abstract: An anesthetic vaporizer has a receiving part devised for connection to a collar-equipped bottle, the receiving part having a locking device for locking/unlocking the bottle. Improved connection is achieved by providing the receiving part with a tubular section with a tube wall and an internal cavity, with a through opening arranged in the tube wall enabling the bottle's collar to move past the opening when the bottle is attached to the receiving part. The opening extends down at an angle to the center line of the tubular section, and the locking device has a resilient locking element partially arranged in the opening.
Abstract: Several methods of setting the armature lift of a modular fuel injector are disclosed. The methods include the use of a crush ring or a lift sleeve that is inserted into the valve body during assembly of the modular fuel injector. The methods further include the technique of adjusting the relative axial position of the valve body relative to a non-magnetic shell body. The methods additionally include the adjustment of the pole piece relative to the non-magnetic shell prior to both parts being affixed together. The method also includes axial adjustment of the lift sleeve after the insertion of the lift sleeve into the valve body. The modular fuel injector comprises a valve group subassembly and a coil group subassembly.

Abstract: A method and system for decoding information that is output by an information source and transmitted in coded fashion via a transmission channel affected by interference, wherein the influence of statistical information, which is applied along side the transmitted information via the information source, on the decoding is modified as a function of the reliable of the decoding.
Abstract: Methods and systems for electronically scanning within a three dimensional volume while minimizing the number of system channels and associated cables connecting a two-dimensional array of elements to an ultrasound system are provided. An array of semiconductor or micro-machined switches electronically interconnect various elements of the two-dimensional array. Elements associated with a substantially same time delay are connected together as a macro element, reducing the number of independent elements to be connected to beamforming or system channels. To beam form in the desired direction, the macro elements are configured as a phased array or along substantially straight lines in at least two dimensions (i.e. along the face of the two-dimensional transducer). Such macro elements allow transmission and reception along beams that are at an angle other than normal to the two-dimensional transducer array.

Abstract: A method for protecting an item of software, wherein at least one challenge means is associated with said protected item of software, and at least one response means accesses one private keying material. The challenge means has no access to said private keying material. The response means proves to the challenge means that the response means has access to the private keying material using an asymmetric probabilistic proof, e.g., zero knowledge proof. The challenge means validates this proof using the public keying material that corresponds to the response means' private keying material.
Abstract: Systems for dialing an emergency telephone number from a teleworking client according to the invention include apparatus that implement the steps of detecting at a teleworking client when an emergency number is dialed, disconnecting the teleworking client from the PBX/MLTS, connecting the teleworking client to the PSTN, and dialing an associated stored number. Though the invention is described with reference to a teleworking client, it may also be applied to any other dialup network connection.

Abstract: A shaped part (30) for forming a guide ring (21) for a gas turbine (1) is, on the one hand, to be produced with particularly little outlay and, on the other hand, is to be designed so that it can be cooled particularly effectively with steam as the coolant. For this purpose, according to the invention the shaped part (30) comprises a base plate (34) which, together with an associated metal guide plate (38, 44, 52), forms a flow passage (36) for a coolant which, in cross section, extends substantially over its entire width, with respect to the axial direction (x) of the guide ring (20, 21).

The length-changing actuator includes first and second ends. The closure member is movable between a first configuration permitting fuel injection and a second configuration preventing fuel injection. And the compensator assembly axially positions the actuator with respect to the body in response to temperature variation. Abstract: The invention proposes a method and an apparatus for the radio transmission of user data, arranged in data words of a defined length, in time-division multiplex frames having active time slots in which data are transmitted and inactive time slots in which no data are transmitted. The user data are stored temporarily in a memory at a first data rate, and are read out from the memory and converted into the time-division multiplex frames at a second, greater data rate. During the time period from the beginning of an active time slot to the beginning of the subsequent active time slot, n (n=a whole number ≧1) data words of the user data are thereby respectively stored. By synchronizing the storing and the reading out of the user data, these data can be transmitted with the smallest possible delay in an arbitrarily selected time slot of the time-division multiplex frame.

Abstract: A gas turbine with axially mutually displaceable guide parts that compensates for differing amounts of thermal expansion, comprising guide parts which can be displaced with respect to one another in the axial direction and enclose a funnel-like gas duct from outside. In order to optimize a rotor blade tip gap, at least one of the funnel-like guide parts under control by means of a motor can be displaced. As a result of the axial displacement, because of the funnel-like shape of the guide parts, the width of the rotor blade tip gap is changed.

It is checked whether there is present an item of information concerning the availability of the terminal apparatus via the mobile radiotelephone network and, if so, the call coming into the wireless communication device is forwarded to the terminal apparatus in the mobile radiotelephone network, if a delivery is not possible in the wireless communication device.
