Patent number: 9723414Abstract: A method performs signal processing in a binaural hearing device that has first and second hearing aids with first and second microphones producing first and second signals and with first and second sound generators. The first and second signals ascertain a direction of a main sound source. A deviation in the direction from a frontal direction prompts the hearing aid that is closer to the main sound source to be defined as the local hearing aid and the hearing aid that is more remote from the main sound source to be a remote hearing aid. The local hearing aid, in one frequency band, filters the first signal using an angle-dependent first filter factor, and thus produces a first filtered signal. The first signal, the second signal and/or the direction of the main sound source is used for determining an adaptation coefficient, a first adapted signal and a local directional characteristic.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2016Date of Patent: August 1, 2017Assignee: Sivantos Pte. Patent number: 9654886Abstract: A connector-based link is suited to various signals and media for connecting a tube with a hearing instrument, which ensures a reliable mechanical hold, good connection and high tightness and in the process is easy to handle. This is achieved by a connector for a hearing instrument system including a housing which contains a number of connections, and a tube which contains a number of lines, which is embodied to detachably connect a number of lines of the tube to a number of connections of the housing, wherein the connections of the connector contain different spatial orientations. The fact that the connections each have a different spatial orientation brings about a mutual decoupling. As a result, the demands on dimensional stability of the various connections are advantageously reduced since the different connections are not closed in a shared, identical end position.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2013Date of Patent: May 16, 2017Assignee: Sivantos Pte. Patent number: 9521494Abstract: An antenna system is provided for hearing instruments to be worn in the auditory canal. A hearing instrument has a data transmission system improved in respect of transmission bandwidth with no increase or only an insignificant increase in space and energy requirement. The antenna system has an antenna with a preferred send and receive spatial direction, and a hearing instrument component which emits noise radiation predominantly in a noise radiation spatial direction. The antenna and the hearing instrument component are disposed so that the send and receive spatial direction and the noise radiation spatial direction are oriented transverse to one another such that a coupling-in of noise radiation into the antenna is reduced. The reduction of the noise couplings into the antenna make possible a higher send and receive bandwidth, with the installation volume and energy requirement remaining the same. The hearing instrument component is a receiver.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2014Date of Patent: December 13, 2016Assignee: Sivantos Pte. Ltd.Inventor: Peter Nikles

Patent number: 9439007Abstract: A hearing instrument uses an MID (Molded Interconnect Device) to replace a complexly folded and expensive flexible PCB (Printed Circuit Board) inside hearing aids and enables the use of complex MID frames in hearing instruments. An additional routing building block is provided for the very complex routing around active electronic components, e.g. chips or ASICs and small passive electronic components. It includes a small, preferably rigid mini PCB provided for the complex routing. A large Flex-PCB is therefore replaced by a combination of an MID circuit frame and a mini PCB. The mini PCB enables complex routing of conducting paths and thus helps to increase integration while the MID circuit frame provides for a mechanical structure that enables and alleviates placing and connecting components such as microphones or receivers at respective mounting positions, e.g. at openings of a hearing aid housing.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2015Date of Patent: September 6, 2016Assignee: Sivantos Pte. Patent number: 9420386Abstract: The aim 1s to make operation of hearing device apparatuses more convenient. A method is proposed for operating a hearing device apparatus by a user by presenting a first acoustic signal by the hearing device apparatus as originating from a first virtual position and by presenting a second acoustic signal by the hearing device apparatus as originating from a second virtual position. In this connection the first acoustic signal represents a first adjustment option of the hearing device apparatus and the second acoustic signal a second adjustment option. The body part of the user is moved toward the first or second virtual position and a position or movement of the body part of the user is detected. Finally the detected position or movement of the body part is automatically allocated to the first or second virtual position, whereby the adjustment option corresponding to the allocated virtual position is chosen.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2013Date of Patent: August 16, 2016Assignee: Sivantos Pte.
