  • Patent number: 10966032
Abstract: An input signal is provided with a low microphone noise in a hearing apparatus. The microphone noise in the input signal of the hearing apparatus is reduced, by the input signal being filtered by a Wiener filter, if a noise power determined at the input signal is smaller than a predetermined limit value. The Wiener filter is however deactivated, if the noise power is greater than the limit value or equal to the limit value.

  • Patent number: 10959028
Abstract: A hearing device has an acceleration sensor that is positioned on the head of a hearing device wearer in the intended worn state, is configured for measurement in two mutually orthogonal measurement axes and is operated by virtue of at least one main feature related to an acceleration directed tangentially in relation to the head being derived from an acceleration signal of the acceleration sensor. The at least one main feature is used to ascertain a presence of a yaw movement of the head by taking into consideration at least one prescribed criterion, derivable from the acceleration signal itself, beyond the presence of an acceleration value of the tangentially directed acceleration that is indicative of a movement.

  • Patent number: 10924871
Abstract: A method for the identification of a receiver belonging to one of a plurality of receiver types in a hearing aid system includes supplying an electrical input signal to the receiver for sound output. The input signal is a primary signal, and a secondary signal that depends on the input signal is generated on the basis of the sound output. The secondary signal is captured by a sensor which generates an electrical sensor signal depending on the secondary signal. A phase measurement is furthermore carried out by determining a phase difference between the input signal and the sensor signal. The receiver is then identified by assigning the receiver to one of the plurality of receiver types on the basis of the phase difference. A corresponding hearing aid system and an receiver set are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10904679
Abstract: A method for enhancing a signal directionality in a hearing instrument wherein first and second signals are generated by first and second input transducers that are spaced apart from one another. A first directional signal is derived from the first input signal and the second input signal by applying a second-to-first relative transfer function with respect to a first target angle to the second input signal. The second-to-first relative transfer function is a relative transfer function from the second input transducer to the first input transducer with respect to the first target angle. Similarly, a second directional signal is derived from the second input signal and the first input signal by applying a first-to-second relative transfer function with respect to a second target angle to the first input signal. An angle-enhanced signal is derived from the first directional signal and the second directional signal.

  • Patent number: 10880655
Abstract: A method for operating a hearing apparatus system with at least one hearing apparatus uses a first sensor of the hearing apparatus to capture a first measured variable characteristic of an actual wearing situation. If the first measured variable and/or a variation over time derived therefrom satisfies at least one prescribed first criterion, it is inferred that the hearing apparatus has had a tumble. If the tumble is detected to have taken place, at least one further measured variable and/or a variation over time derived therefrom is captured, and the at least one further measured variable is used to ascertain whether the hearing apparatus is arranged on the head of a hearing device wearer after the tumble.

  • Patent number: 10873817
Abstract: In a method that reduces the occurrence of acoustic feedback in a hearing device, a first wearing situation is created that determines a positioning of the hearing device relative to the wearer. For the first wearing situation, a first usage situation is created being a body movement of the wearer of the hearing device and/or a relative position of an external object relative to the body of the wearer. A first number of frequency-resolved curves of a feedback tendency of the hearing device are determined for the first use situation. A first criticality measure is ascertained based on the frequency-resolved curve for the first use situation that contains information on a frequency range that is critical with respect to an occurrence of acoustic feedback and a corresponding relative probability of acoustic feedback, and a target is established for adapting a hearing device parameter based on the first criticality measure.

  • Patent number: 10856089
Abstract: A method operates a hearing aid where the hearing aid generates an input signal from acoustic signals from the environment. The hearing aid has a signal processor which is configured to modify the input signal and thereby generate an output signal. The signal processor has an automatic gain control for modifying the input signal, and has a compressor that can be operated with a compression scheme. The environment is divided into a plurality of directions of which one is selected by a direction determination unit as a relevant direction. The input signal is modified in a direction-dependent manner by the compressor being operated with a compression scheme, which is set dependent on the relevant direction, so that acoustic signals from the relevant direction are emphasized compared to acoustic signals from other directions.

  • Patent number: 10841715
Abstract: A method adapts a hearing device. The hearing apparatus has a signal processing unit for processing an electrical input signal into an electrical output signal and a receiver for outputting an acoustic output signal based on the electrical output signal. Furthermore, the hearing apparatus has an individual sound transmission element with a frequency-dependent individual amplification profile for transmitting the acoustic output signal. The individual amplification profile is determined on the basis of a reference transfer function. The measured individual amplification profile is subsequently compared with a reference amplification profile of a reference sound transmission element, and the reference transfer function is adapted based on a difference between the individual amplification profile and the reference amplification profile.

  • Patent number: 10805743
Abstract: A connector for a hearing instrument, in particular a receiver-in-canal behind-the-ear hearing aid, is small and visually inconspicuous. The connector should be as invisible as possible on the hearing instrument as it is worn, and the connector allows a microphone arrangement favorable for directionality and sound pick-up. The connector is disposed on an earpiece tube, which defines a longitudinal direction at the connector. The connector is connected by insertion into a connector receptacle of a hearing instrument transversely to the longitudinal direction. The hearing instrument has a laterally arranged connector receptacle, into which a connector is inserted transversely to the longitudinal direction. Because of the transverse insertion, the connector can be arranged laterally on the housing and because of the lateral placement, the front end face of the housing is smaller and the housing is overall flatter.
