    Abstract: A rolling bearing arrangement for supporting a journal of a work roll has two cylindrical rolling bearings for carrying radial loads and an inclined rolling bearing for carrying axial loads arranged between the cylindrical rolling bearings. The rows of rolling bodies of the inclined rolling bearing have radially inwardly directed lines of load transmission and are displaceable on at least one of the respective raceways in both directions transverse to the rolling direction. The end surfaces of the inner ring of the inclined rolling bearing are slidably displaceable in a substantially radial direction on the opposing end surfaces of the inner rings of the cylindrical rolling bearings. The radial play between the inner ring of the inclined rolling bearing and the journal is greater than the radial play between the inner rings of the cylindrical rolling bearings and the journal.

    Abstract: An axial joint arrangement with integrated seal is provided with three successively arranged bearing rings, the upper and lower bearing rings having spherical guiding surfaces which oppose corresponding spherical surfaces of the middle bearing ring. The guiding surface of the lower bearing ring serves to center and guide the middle bearing ring and the guiding surface of the upper bearing ring serves to transmit operating loads to the middle bearing ring. A first sealing disk is attached to the middle bearing ring. One face of the first sealing disk abuts a first sealing surface and the other face abuts an intermediate disk. The intermediate disk is sealingly connected by a bellows to a second sealing disk, which is in turn connected to a second sealing surface.

    Abstract: A sealed bearing arrangement for the ring rollers of a cold rolling mill is provided with a rolling bearing mounted on a journal of a rolling shaft and seated in the bore of a chock, and a pair of housing covers fastened to said chock on respective sides of said rolling bearing. Each of the housing covers has a bore in which a pair of sliding rings and a pair of O-ring seals are arranged. The sliding rings of each pair have mutually abutting end surfaces and respective outer conical circumferential surfaces which are resiliently supported by the respective separate O-ring seals. The O-ring seals in turn are supported by a conical bore surface formed on the corresponding housing cover and by a conical inner surface of a washer seated adjacent the inner ring of the bearing respectively. At least one shim ring is inserted between the side surface of a ring of the rolling bearing and a supporting shoulder surface of one of the housing covers or washers.

Each spring 14 has two coaxial sections of turns which spiral in opposite directions so that the springs 14 press the vanes 12 against the bore 6 of the housing 1 without tilting. These sections of turns are each designed with an adjacent support end 21 on the outer or inner section and a bail section, which is arranged between the inner and outer end of the sections of turns, connecting the inner and outer ends of these sections of turns rigidly together, and which projects radially beyond the sections of turns.

    Abstract: A bearing bushing is provided with a sealing ring having a conical bore surface on the side remote from the side at which a shaft is inserted. The rim of the bearing bushing is provided with a concial surface which cooperates with the conical surface of the sealing ring during insertion of the shaft so as to restrain the sealing ring in a manner that prevents it from being forced out of the bearing bushing. Alternatively, a restraining ring having a circumferential projection with a conical surface can be arranged to prevent unseating of the sealing ring when the shaft is inserted from the sealing ring side of the bearing bushing. A shaft being inserted exerts axial force on the sealing ring, causing the inner portion of the sealing ring to expand radially as the conical surface of the sealing ring slidingly ascends the conical surface of the bushing rim or restraining ring, thereby allowing easy insertion of the shaft.

The sleeve material plastically flows into the interstitial spaces between the tooth surfaces of the machine element and the journal, thereby securing the machine element against rotation relative to the journal.
