  • Patent number: 4650398
Abstract: A bearing unit for a rotating component, such as a toothed gear or guide pulley, with an integrated pump consists of a housing with a pump chamber defined therein, a pump rotor installed in the pump chamber, a support pin having an end supported in the housing, and a bearing ring rotatably mounted on the support pin. The bearing unit is mountable on a support surface of an associated machine element, such as an engine block by means of a flange on the housing. The pump rotor and the rotating component are securely mounted on the outer surface of the bearing ring in mutual abutting relationship. The pump rotor is disposed between the housing flange and a web portion of the rotating component. The rim portion of the rotating component circumscribes the pump rotor. A sliding sealing ring is provided between the housing or housing ring and the rotating component.

  • Patent number: 4647231
Abstract: A multiple-row tapered rolling bearing in an O-arrangement has an outer ring, a pair of abutting inner rings, and tapered rolling bodies arranged therebetween. The inner rings are axially secured together by a clamping ring which form-locks with annular grooves formed in the inner rings. A bore is provided in the outer ring which is adopted to allow a separating tool to be passed therethrough. The separating tool has a cutting edge which is impressed on the clamping ring during relative rotation of the outer and inner rings, thereby severing the clamping ring for disassembling the bearing.

  • Patent number: 4647230
Abstract: A spring ring is arranged in an annular gap of a pair of outer bearing rings in an arrangement for fastening a rolling bearing in the bore of a housing. A groove is provided in the housing for receiving the spring ring. A holding ring is mounted on the outer surface of the bearing outer ring, the holding ring having a collar aligned to hold the spring ring within the annular gap during the disassembled condition of the bearing. The holding ring has an axial surface adapted to engage the end of the housing during assembly, to enable the holding ring to be forced axially along the outer surface of the bearing outer ring. The holding ring futher has an end away from the spring ring adapted to form a seal with the bearing inner ring.

  • Patent number: 4643594
Abstract: A sealed rolling bearing in which the seal consists of a sealing lip and a sealing projection connected to a sealing body. When the sealing body is seated in a groove formed in the outer ring, the sealing lip abuts a side surface of a groove formed in the inner ring with prestress. The sealing lip and sealing projection abut under the influence of the prestress to form a conical, outwardly directed centrifugal surface for ejecting moisture and dirt through a gap seal formed between the sealing projection and a shoulder of the bearing inner ring.

  • Patent number: 4511188
Abstract: A ball bearing for lengthwise and rotational movement on a shaft has circumferentially distributed endless rows of balls. It consists of an outer sleeve with an axially extending cylindrical race in its bore for the loaded balls of each row and a sleeve-shaped cage rotatably arranged in the bore of the outer sleeve. The cage has axially extending races for the loaded and unloaded balls and these guides are interconnected in pairs by semi-circular shaped radially outwardly open turnaround races. An axially extending return recess for the unloaded balls of each row is machined between each pair of cylindrical races, either in the cylindrical bore of the outer sleeve or on the cylindrical shaft. In order to avoid contact wear of the balls in the turnaround races upon turning movement of the shaft, the cage is held at its two ends by an end ring having an outer section radially covering the turnaround guides of the cage.
