Abstract: A machine element such as a bearing, has a shaft with a spherical end. The spherical end is formed by a metal ball, such as a ball bearing, the ball being held in a hollow metal cylindrical casing. The casing has an inner diameter substantially equal to the outer diameter of the shaft, and is rigidly fit, for example, by press fitting, over the end of the shaft.
Abstract: A linear motion ball bearing including an outer sleeve, a cylindrical ball-retaining cage within the sleeve, with continuous raceways defined between the sleeve and cage, and a plurality of balls in these raceways; the sleeve including, as part of each raceway, an axial return race defined by a slot. The cage has a corresponding and generally adjacent axial race, the cage, in an assembled bearing, being rotated about its central axis and displaced relative to the sleeve, so that balls in the axial race are engaged and retained by an edge of the slot.
Abstract: A longitudinally movable bushing has a continuous raceway for endlessly circulating rolling elements, such as balls. The raceway has a portion for loaded balls, wherein the balls are externally exposed to engage a loading surface, and an unloaded portion joined at its ends to the loaded portion. The ends of the loaded raceway portion gradually widen, the widened portions having the same depth as the remainder of the portions.
Abstract: A roller bearing for longitudinally movable machine elements, in which rollers run in and out of a load zone between entry and return paths, has at least one component that defines therein running-in and/or running-out areas which are made elastically yielding by slits which extend parallel to the path below the surface of the running-in and running-out areas.

Abstract: A clutch release thrust bearing has an inner rotor disk with an axially extending portion, and a cup-shaped outer disk with an axially extending portion aligned with the axially extending portion of the inner rotor disk. A layer of plastic material is provided on one of the axially extending portions in order to minimize friction between these two members in the event of axial or radial displacement therebetween.
Abstract: A clutch throw-out device has a thrust bearing and a pressure plate. A radially extending flange on one of the bearing rings of the thrust bearing is coupled to the pressure plate, to inhibit relative rotation therebetween. The coupling includes projections on one of the flange or pressure plate extending into corresponding recesses of the other member at the coupling. The recesses are adequately large to permit radial movement, and elastic damping means are provided at least between the recesses and projections.
Abstract: A siding collar is provided for a fork-activated coupling clutch release bearing, including a collar body with a cast-in wear-resistant disc formed on a radial flange. A plurality of contact zones on one side of the disc contact the fork. On the bearing side of the disc the nonrotating bearing ring contacts the disc, the disc having a plurality of guide zones running essentially axially along the edge, with means for securing this bearing ring to the collar having guide zones for holding this bearing ring on the sliding collar against rotation on the sliding collar.
Abstract: Apparatus for mounting an open end spinning turbine positioned adjacent the front end of a drive shaft includes a bearing block which has a pair of spaced walls traversed by the drive shaft. Rollers are provided between the spaced walls forming a V-groove support for the drive shaft. The rear end of the shaft extends outwardly of the rear wall of the bearing block and has an annular T-slot formed therein. A bushing is mounted in the wall for journalling of the shaft, and a guide member extends within the T-slot for establishing the axial location of the shaft within the supporting rollers.
Abstract: Stopping means for an open-end spinning turbine comprises a lever pivotable beneath the shaft of the turbine and the drive belt for the shaft. The lever moves toward the belt and the shaft to sequentially lift the belt off the shaft and lift the shaft from its support rollers.
Abstract: An open end spinning machine in which each spinning unit is housed in a bipartite housing, each part of the housing having cooperating contact and counter-contact surfaces for forming a sealed housing.
