  • Patent number: 6375383
Abstract: An attachment device for arresting a machine member having a substantially cylindrical bore on a cylindrical shaft includes first and second sleeve members adapted to be positioned in a space between the outer surface of the shaft and the inner surface of the bore in the machine member. The two sleeve members have mating, cooperating taper surfaces in the form of a plurality of saw-tooth-shaped axially tapering sections that face one another. At least one of the sleeve members is movable for displacement relative to the other sleeve member to change the radial size of at least one of the sleeve members. The end edge of the first sleeve member projects axially beyond an adjacent end edge of the second sleeve member for receiving an external pushing force causing the first element to be displaced relative to the second element to cause the relative displacement of the sleeve members. The opposite end edge of the second sleeve members engages a stop that may be formed on the machine member.

  • Patent number: 6361309
Abstract: An injection molding tool for producing a cage for a linear bearing in which several rolling elements are positioned in the cage in the direction of its longitudinal extent in the assembled state includes two tool halves each provided with protrusions. The protrusions extend into the cavity of the tool during the injection molding process and form a portion of a receiver pocket for receiving a rolling element. To make the injection molding process simple and economical, the protrusions are fixedly connected with the tool halves, with the protrusions being are shaped in such a way that, when acting together, they form holding elements for retaining the rolling elements in the receiver pockets in the cage when the injection molding tool is closed. The holding elements are thus integrated into the basic geometry of the cage.

  • Patent number: 6357324
Abstract: A number of annular or short tubular elements are obtained from an elongate tube having a length calculated as a multiple of the length of the elements. A tube is automatically transferred into a chuck of a twin-spindle lathe to turn the inner bore of an end portion of the tube. The end portion is then cut off the tube, thereby obtaining an annular element. The element is automatically reversed and fitted to a mandrel for turning its outer surface and its end where the cutting was performed. The so finished or partly-finished element is then automatically delivered to an outfeed conveyor. Such a sequence is repeated cyclically until the last portion of the tube is processed, leaving no waste tips of the tube. A numerically controlled lathe for performing the process is also disclosed.
