Patent number: 12607424Abstract: An assembly for holding a bolt of a firearm in an open position is disclosed. The assembly comprises a bolt catch pivotable about a first axis toward and away from a catching position. In the catching position, a portion of the bolt catch is within a path of travel of the bolt. A follower transfer adapter is pivotable about a second axis. The follower transfer adapter includes an engagement portion that is configured to engage a follower of a magazine. Optionally, the follower transfer adapter includes an overhang lip that extends transversely to the longitudinal axis of the firearm and into a path of travel of the follower to define the engagement portion. The engagement portion is positioned between the second axis and the bolt catch along the longitudinal axis of the firearm. A linkage transfers rotational movement of the follower transfer adapter to rotation of the bolt catch.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2024Date of Patent: April 21, 2026Assignee: Smith & Wesson Inc.Inventor: Simon M. Patent number: 12535285Abstract: A firearm accessory and an end cap useful with the firearm assembly. The firearm assembly handles exhaust gas expelled with a round fired from a firearm and includes a fitting, a sleeve, a fluid pressure dissipation structure, and an end cap assembly located at a distal end of the fluid dissipation structure. The sleeve defines an internal volume that at least partially receives the fluid dissipation structure. The end cap assembly and the fluid dissipation structure at least partially define one or more distal chambers in communication with the internal volume. The end cap assembly defines an angled port.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 2024Date of Patent: January 27, 2026Assignee: Smith & Wesson Inc.Inventor: Joe DeJessa

Patent number: 12504242Abstract: A lower receiver includes a polymer main body having an outer surface and defining an interior. The interior of the polymer main body defines a first socket. A grip attachment body is receivable, along a first axis, into the first socket of the interior of the polymer main body. The grip attachment body includes a first threaded insert that is configured to receive a fastener for securing a grip to the lower receiver.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2024Date of Patent: December 23, 2025Assignee: Smith & Wesson Inc.Inventor: Simon M. Patent number: 12313361Abstract: A mount assembly for attaching a firearm accessory to a muzzle of a firearm that promotes a more secure connection. The mounting assembly includes a front collar and a rear collar that are operable to clamp the mount assembly onto the muzzle. A detent ring mounted on the front collar yieldably biased by a spring against the rear collar to resist relative rotation of the front and rear collars. The mounting assembly is constructed so that the spring force applied by the spring does not continually increase as the front and rear collars move to clamp onto the muzzle. Detent springs used to yieldably hold the front and rear collars against relative rotation can be weaker than the main spring, which further reduces unwanted forces working against clamping of the mount assembly onto the muzzle. The mount assembly is also constructed to inhibit carbon lock.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2023Date of Patent: May 27, 2025Assignee: Smith & Wesson Inc.Inventor: Joseph DeJessa

Patent number: 12313359Abstract: A suppressor baffle and a suppressor for a firearm. The suppressor includes a firearm attachment portion, a sleeve portion, and a baffle assembly with a plurality of baffles. At least one of the baffles includes a tubular body with a proximal exterior surface. The proximal exterior surface has a plurality of spaced-apart annular ridges. A first annular ridge includes a first annular compression surface and a first annular expansion surface, and a second annular ridge includes a second annular compression surface. The ridges are shaped and arranged to define a convex first expansion corner between the first annular compression surface and the first annular expansion surface, and a concave first compression corner between the first annular expansion surface and the second annular compression surface. Gas flowing along the proximal exterior surface expands at the first expansion corner and compresses at the first compression corner to dissipate energy in the gas.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2022Date of Patent: May 27, 2025Assignee: Smith & Wesson Inc.Inventor: Joe DeJessa

Patent number: 12292255Abstract: A stock has a buttstock. The buttstock includes an adjustable comb. The comb is connected to a body of the buttstock via a rod extending into the body of the buttstock and movable along a first axis. The position of the rod and comb is locked and unlocked by a latch. The buttstock includes an adjustable recoil pad. The recoil pad is connected to the body via a threaded rod mated with a nut embedded within an end of the body. The threaded rod and recoil pad move a direction along a longitudinal axis of the body depending on the rotation of the nut.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2023Date of Patent: May 6, 2025Assignee: Smith & Wesson Inc.Inventor: Zachary Kusnierz
