  • Patent number: 4159620
Abstract: The yarn-piecing and cleaning system comprises an auxiliary carriage which is separate and distinct from the robot carriage but travels on the same track as this latter, is connected thereto by means of at least one compressed-air duct and contains a compressed-air generating set. Thus the design function of the auxiliary carriage is to supply air directly at the necessary pressure and also serves as a spinning waste reservoir while the robot carriage performs yarn-piecing and cleaning operations as a transfer and control unit.

  • Patent number: 4018062
Abstract: A coupling for joining two co-axial shafts, for both rotation and in the axial direction, comprising a male part integral with one of said shafts, a set of teeth for rotatably driving on said male part, a female part on the other of said shafts, a conjugate set of teeth on said female part, said one part being engaged in said other part with a certain amount of radial play which allows the axis of the set of teeth of the male part the function of pivoting slightly with respect to the axis of the set of teeth of the female part, and means for axial interconnection of the two shafts, said means comprising a ball carried by the end of said one shaft adjacent said male part, two cups axially connected to said other shaft, and having conjugate surfaces between in which said ball is closely held, means mounting said cups in such a manner that said cups are slightly displaceable in the radial direction relative to said other shaft, the two sets of teeth having profiles which permit the axes of the two shafts to pivo

  • Patent number: 3988881
Abstract: The invention relates to devices for supplying fibers to a unit for spinning loose or free fibers. Such a device according to the invention comprises a feeding device including means for holding back a sliver of fibers and a fiber-separating device disposed in a hollow enclosure and constituted by a rotary drum, the surface of which is made up by elements of narrow fiber-separating ridges which each extend in a circumferential direction in a plane perpendicular to the drum axis over only a part of the drum periphery; two of said elements successive in the axial direction are angularly staggered while narrow and deep grooves separate in the axial direction at least a part of said ridge elements from one another; the invention is generally applicable to feeding devices of spinning units of free or loosened fibers of all kinds.

  • Patent number: 3955603
Abstract: A textile machine incorporates a crank and a connecting rod which carries a mass of such value and so positioned that the moment of inertia of the connecting rod about the axis of the crank pin introduces inertial variations which are opposed to and of absolute values at least equal to the inertial variations due to the combined sley and weft inserter mechanisms as well as their controls. The invention is especially applicable to the regularization of the running of looms with stiff weft inserters.
