Abstract: There is described a brake shoe for a ring type brake which means it has a cylindrical brake ring secured to a member to be braked. The brake shoe comprises a part-cylindrical, preferably sheet metal support plate having on one face a brake lining and on the opposite face an elongate rib extending generally between opposed edges of the support plate and having a substantially flat bearing surface. Preferably the rib is stamped in the sheet metal support plate and receives a complementary portion of the brake lining material therein. The rib may be disposed cordally of the support plate or parallel to the generatrices thereof. Two such ribs may be provided on a support plate parallel to each other though spaced at different distances from median plane thereof. The contact areas of the substantially flat bearing surface with the piston of the hydraulic unit associated therewith are preferably dissymmetrical about one or both of the median planes of the brake shoe.
Abstract: The assembly of an enclosure containing a fluid, and a capsule comprising a casing which contains a heat-sensitive element, the capsule being mounted in a wall of the enclosure through a mounting arrangement comprising a metal part forming one end of the casing and engaging the heat-sensitive element, a seat formed in the wall and having a bottom provided with an opening which opens into the interior of the enclosure, a lateral orifice which opens to the outside, and an inner surface having an annular zone between the opening and the orifice, and means for inserting and holding the capsule inside the seat to seal the opening by urging the metal part towards the annular zone with the possible interposition of a seal.
Abstract: A safety belt device with a winder/unwinder, especially for an automobile. This device comprises a continuous belt strap, one end of which is fixed to an anchorage point on the vehicle structure and the other end of which is connected to a strap winder/unwinder. The structure of the vehicle is equipped with an attachment means with which the said strap is adapted to cooperate by sliding to provide, under the condition of use of the device, a subabdominal portion and a cross-belt portion which come from the said winder/unwinder. The said anchorage point includes a buckle component which is customary for safety belts and is adapted to be activated directly or indirectly so as to provide separation of the strap end which is fixed to the anchorage point from the structure of the vehicle, this occurring without touching the stop.
Abstract: The invention relates to friction discs of the progressive engagement type, especially for clutches of heavy automobile vehicles, the disc comprising two annular friction linings extending respectively on both sides of and in contact with a cut-out corrugated support, each lining being fixed individually by continuous glueing zones on this support, along parts of the corrugations of the support which are in contact with the lining. The surface area of the glueing zones should be between 5 and 35%, and preferably about 10% of the surface area of the lining. In a modification, each lining is fixed on the support, not only by the glueing zones but also by at least one rivet per zone arranged at right angles to each glueing zone. The riveting operation is preferably carried out after glueing and before the adhesive is polymerized or set.
Abstract: The invention relates to an operating control device for an automobile engine assembly unit comprising successively a clutch and a gear-box equipped with an inertia brake, the control comprising a pressure plate carried on a declutching stop and adapted, by an axial displacement of the clutch in the direction of action, to apply a friction disc against a reaction surface on the casing of the gear-box, the disc being keyed for rotation with the input shaft of the gear-box while remaining axially slidable on this shaft; the control device further comprises a unidirectional axial coupling device located between the declutching stop and the pressure plate, this unidirectional coupling permitting an axial sliding movement of the pressure plate only in the direction opposite to the direction of action, and retaining members intended to engage the pressure plate when the declutching stop moves in the direction opposite to its direction of action.
Abstract: A deflector for heat exchanger tube is provided which enhances exchange of heat between the various portions of the liquid flowing in the tube. It comprises a tail piece offset laterally relatively to the body of said deflector which prevents it from being swept away by the liquid, said tail piece being adapted to come into abutment with the edge of the tube.

The exchanger is connected to the outside circuit by connectors passing through the wall of the container of the cooling liquid. These connectors are formed in two parts, one of which projects externally, said parts being so shaped that when assembled they jointly form an annular cavity which surrounds the edge of the opening formed in the container wall; the volume of said cavity diminishes gradually when said two parts are joined together whereby to confine and tighten a flexible seal placed within said cavity.

The connecting means comprise flat, relatively thin claws which extend from the front face of the cover through openings in the diaphragm and which are provided at the end of their axial portion with a wing portion which is bent over to retain the supporting washer; the entire supporting washer is disposed radially outside the diameter on which the axially extending portion of the claws lie.

Abstract: A disc brake for installation on heavy automotive vehicles, comprises at least two rotating discs fixed to each other and spaced apart axially and rigidly fixed on the brake rotor, and a stirrup fixed on the brake stator. The stirrup comprises two external portions between which the discs are disposed, and at least one intermediate portion between the discs. The stirrup portions have pairs of opposed coaxial cylinders to apply friction linings against the discs between them. The cylinders of the intermediate stirrup portion open in opposite axial directions and are staggered circumferentially and are blind and have a depth close to the thickness of the intermediate portion. The portions of the stirrup member are detachably interconnected and extend over an angular sector of about 180.degree. at the top of the brake.

Abstract: An assembly for a diaphragm clutch comprises a clutch cover, a diaphragm, connecting means pivotally connecting the diaphragm to the cover, and a supporting washer interposed between the connecting means and the diaphragm. The connecting means comprises a head element which abuts the front face of the cover, and claws which extend through openings in the cover and the diaphragm and which have turned-over ends which engage the supporting washer. Abstract: Radiator for an air-conditioning system of an automobile.The stack of fins for the heating of the circulating air is traversed by tubes in which circulates hot water. The fins are rectangular and their small edges are folded according to an obtuse angle. A band of foam material surrounds the stack along the edges of the folds and along the end fins. The band comprises holes which are traversed by the tubes protruding from the end fins.The band is wider than the small edge of the fins and the parts of the band projecting from the stack of fins contribute to the tightness of the mounting of the radiator on the conduit provided for the air to be conditioned.
