Also, the measuring system may include a diagnostic tool coupled the sensor to receive a plurality of measurements of the oscillation or vibration of the belt, wherein the diagnostic tool may determine a tension of the belt based at least in part on an average of the plurality of measurements of the oscillation or vibration of the belt.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a toner container. The toner container includes an opening/closing portion and an operation portion. The image forming apparatus includes a drive transmission portion and a detection portion. When the lever of the operation portion is swingingly operated, the operation driving force of the operation is transmitted to the opening/closing portion via a first rotation portion and a second rotation portion. This allows a shutter cylinder to move from a closing position to an opening position. In addition, when the second rotation portion is rotated, a detected bar of the detection portion moves from a second position to a first position. The detection portion detects that a toner discharge outlet is opened, by detecting that the detected bar has moved to the first position.

Abstract: A downhole bypass tool that includes an inlet for receiving fluid into a housing of the bypass tool is described herein. The bypass tool also includes a flow directing apparatus disposed in the housing for directing fluid to flow into an operational flow path of a vibratory tool. The vibratory tool is at least partially disposed within the hosing of the bypass tool. The flow directing apparatus operates to selectively bypass the operational flow path of the vibratory tool such that the fluid bypasses the operational flow path of the vibratory tool and flows out of an outlet of the bypass tool.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: an apparatus body, a paper feed cassette, a feed section, an operation control section, a paper passage detection sensor, a cassette attachment-detachment detection sensor, a paper presence-absence detection sensor, a sensor failure determination section, and an alarm control section. The paper passage detection sensor detects whether or not paper has passed through a position. The cassette attachment-detachment detection sensor detects attachment or detachment of the paper feed cassette. The paper presence-absence detection sensor detects paper absence when the paper feed cassette is withdrawn from the apparatus body. The sensor failure determination section determines that the paper presence-absence detection sensor is in failure. The alarm control section, when passage of the paper is not detected before passage of a predefined time period, alarms that the feeding of the paper has failed.

Abstract: A paper-feeding device, during a paper leading edge detection interval that includes an expected point in time of arrival of a paper leading edge at a paper sensor installation location, and during a paper trailing edge detection interval that includes an expected point in time of passage of a paper trailing edge, allows the signal level of a paper detection signal that is outputted to a main body section to fluctuate on the basis of an actual output value of a paper sensor, and during a transition interval from the paper leading edge detection interval to the paper trailing edge detection interval, locks the paper detection signal that is outputted to the main body section, to the signal level at the end of the paper leading edge detection interval.

Abstract: An intravascular catheter for peri-vascular or peri-urethral tissue ablation includes multiple needles advanced through supported guide tubes which expand with open ends around a central axis to engage the interior surface of the wall of the renal artery or other vessel of a human body allowing the injection an ablative fluid for ablating tissue, such as nerve fibers in the outer layer or deep to the outer layer of the vessel, or in prostatic tissue. The system also controls the depth of penetration of the ablative fluid into and beyond the tissue of the vessel wall. The preferred embodiment of the catheter includes structures which provide radial and lateral support to the guide tubes so that the guide tubes open uniformly and maintain their position against the interior surface of the vessel wall as the sharpened injection needles are advanced to penetrate into the vessel wall.

Abstract: A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium that stores a user interface program for developing application software using a graphical user interface (GUI) developing unit configured to cause a user to develop application software via a GUI. The user interface program causes a computer to function as a command-line user interface (CUI)-based GUI control unit configured to control the GUI developing unit via a CUI. The GUI developing unit is configured to operate in response to an input event generated by manipulation of an input device, and the CUI-based GUI control unit is configured to pseudo-generate the input event via the CUI.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a set of customer records and identifying any duplicate customers within the set of customer records. The method includes consolidating customer records of any duplicate customers, and identifying whether any customers represented within the received set of customer records have an existing customer record in data store hardware. The method includes receiving a segmentation criteria defined as an active customer, an inactive customer, or a prospective customer, and segmenting the customers in the data store hardware based on the segmentation criteria. The method includes assigning an active status to active customers. The active status being active defecting (customer having no associated purchase history) or active declining (customer having a threshold decrease in sales over a third period of time). The method also includes associating customer metrics with the customers, and generating a report illustrating the customer segmentation and customer metrics.

The method includes pairing, over a master-less communication link, a narrowband communication device operating in a narrowband communication system and a broadband communication device operating in a broadband communication system. A call is then established between the narrowband communication device and the narrowband communication system or between the broadband communication device and the broadband communication system. Next, an audio quality parameter is determined at at least one of the narrowband communication device and the broadband communication device. An audio signal of the call is then transmitted, over the master-less communication link and in response to the audio quality parameter, from one to the other of the broadband communication device and the narrowband communication device.

The supply-side conveying member includes a supply-side spiral member formed by connecting spiral pieces, in the first direction and having a hollow interior formed by the connected spiral pieces and a first rib member extending in the first direction, is arranged in the developer supply path and conveys the developer in the first direction by being driven and rotated. The first projecting members extend in the first direction along an outer wall portion of the first rib member from a first area where the supply-side spiral member and the first rib member intersect and project radially outward in the rotation of the supply-side conveying member.

Drum unit includes photosensitive drum. Developing unit includes a developing roller that develops a toner image on the photosensitive drum. Each of drum unit and developing unit is configured to be extractable from an apparatus body. Pressing unit is configured to make developing unit movable between a pressing position at which developing roller is pressed against photosensitive drum and a pressing-releasing position at which developing roller is separated from photosensitive drum so as to release the pressing. Abstract: A non-volatile memory device incorporates a write buffer within a multi-level column decoder to enable multiple memory cells associated with a single write driver to be written in parallel. In this manner, in a non-volatile memory such as a flash memory that performs batch write operation, a group of data bits for a single I/O can be written to the memory cells at a time, thereby reducing the number of write cycles required for writing a block of program data and increasing the speed of write operation.

Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes an imaging unit and a noise detecting unit. The imaging unit includes a valid pixel group constituted of imaging elements arranged in one row in a main-scanning direction valid for reading a document image and dummy pixel groups constituted of imaging elements arranged on both sides of the valid pixel group invalid for reading the document image. The imaging unit reads each line of the document image while moving relatively to a sub-scanning direction. The noise detecting unit detects a noise mixing into the line read by the imaging unit based on an image signal captured by the dummy pixel group. The dummy pixel group receives a predetermined luminescence level of light. The noise detecting unit detects the noise mixing into the line when a pixel value output from the dummy pixel group varies to exceed a predetermined value.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for reducing noise in a signal sensing a bending wave propagating in an object comprising the steps of: receiving a sensed signal representative of a plurality of locations of the object, and fitting a function satisfying bending wave propagation properties to the sensed signals, thereby reducing noise contributions to the sensed signals not satisfying the bending wave propagation properties. By doing so, noise contributions not satisfying the wave propagation properties can be suppressed from the sensed signal, thereby improving the signal-to-noise ratio.

Abstract: A system and method is presented for verifying the ability to use stored authentication information when accessing a remote media service. A media device, such as a television, is described that stores authentication information for a remote media service. Such authentication information may include a user name and a password. Because media devices may be re-sold, returned for re-sale, or refurbished, it is necessary to automatically disable the authentication information to prevent a second owner from accessing the services and accounts belonging to a first owner. The ability to use authentication information is disabled upon a long delay in accessing the service, a complete power down cycle, a change in IP address, or a change in network interfaces used to access the network.
