Abstract: A communication device performs a method for selecting a network for an application service based upon system performance. The method includes obtaining multiple sets of performance metrics. Each of the multiple sets of performance metrics comprises at least one performance metric for a same application service. The method further includes evaluating the multiple sets of performance metrics to select one of the corresponding networks to access the application service on the selected network.
Abstract: A display device includes a display position that includes a main region and a subregion, an operation portion that receives an input for producing a message and a movement operation for moving the message in the main region to the subregion, a storage portion that stores set data on the message and degree-of-importance data and a determination portion that determines, based on the degree-of-importance data, the degree of importance of the message. The display portion displays, in the subregion, the message on which the movement operation has been performed when the degree of importance is equal to or lower than a first criterion and continuously displays, in the main region, the message on which the movement operation has been performed when the degree of importance is higher than the first criterion.
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and method for controlling frequency synthesizers. A control system can be implemented in a phase-locked loop (PLL), such as a Frac-N PLL of a frequency synthesizer, to reduce or eliminate reference spurs. In some embodiments, such a control system can include a phase detector configured to receive a reference signal and a feedback signal. The phase detector can be configured to generate a first signal representative of a phase difference between the reference signal and the feedback signal. The control system can further include a charge pump configured to generate a compensation signal based on the first signal. The control system can further includes an oscillator configured to generate an output signal based on the compensation signal. The compensation signal can be configured to reduce or substantially eliminate one or more reference spurs associated with the frequency synthesizer.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for envelope tracking calibration are provided. In one embodiment, a method of calibrating an envelope tracker having an envelope shaping table generated at a desired gain compression of a power amplifier is provided. The method includes generating a supply voltage for the power amplifier using the envelope tracker, operating the supply voltage of the power amplifier at a first voltage level associated with substantially no gain compression of the power amplifier, and measuring an output power of the power amplifier at the first voltage level. The method further includes decreasing a voltage level of the supply voltage one or more times and measuring the output power at each voltage level, determining a second voltage level of the power amplifier associated with a gain compression equal to about that of the desired gain compression, and calibrating the envelope tracker based on the determination.

Control portion causes application portion to output ejection driving-voltage by which piezoelectric element is deformed so as to eject droplets from nozzles in printing period in printing state, and causes application portion to output vibration driving-voltage by which piezoelectric element is vibrated so as to vibrate meniscus in each nozzle in non-printing period between printing periods in printing state.
Abstract: An image processing apparatus converts first color values in a first color space to second color values in a second color space for an objective color. If the objective color is not within a color reproduction space of an outputting device, the searching unit searches for a set of color values as base color values in the color reproduction space so that the set of color values minimizes a value of the color difference formula for the first color values. As the second color values, the searching unit determines a set of color values in a predetermine neighbor space of the base color values so that the determined set of color values minimizes a difference between property values on a color property of which the allowed color difference is smallest among the allowed color differences at the first color values.
Abstract: A method and device enables establishing radio communications on a trunked network using an inbound proxy. The method includes receiving, at a first subscriber device, a control signal from a base station on an outbound control channel of the base station. A request is then transmitted from the first subscriber device to the base station on an inbound control channel of the base station. Next, it is determined, at the first subscriber device, that the request was not received by the base station. The request is therefore re-transmitted from the first subscriber device to a second subscriber device on an inbound proxy control channel. The first subscriber device then receives a response to the request from the base station. The first subscriber device is thus able to subsequently establish radio communications on the trunked network via the second subscriber device.
Abstract: A developing device includes a developing container, a first agitating feeding member, a second agitating feeding member, a first developer delivery portion, a second developer delivery portion, and a toner sensor. The developing container includes a first transport path and a second transport path. The first agitating feeding member and the second agitating feeding member agitate and feed developer. The first developer delivery portion delivers the developer from the first transport path to the second transport path. The second developer delivery portion delivers the developer from the second transport path to the first transport path. The toner sensor is disposed at a part of the first transport path near the first developer delivery portion. A ceiling height of a part of the first transport path facing the first developer delivery portion is larger than a ceiling height of other part of the first transport path.

Abstract: A system and method for ensuring an electronic communication sent by a user to one or more recipients is not sent to one or more inappropriate recipients. The system and method controls, monitors, detects and prevents sending of electronic communications to an unintended recipient or recipients. The system and method also controls, monitors, detects and ensures electronic communications are sent to all intended recipients. Based on parameters that identify conditions for an inappropriate recipient, the system and method compares each recipient of an electronic communication with the parameters and stops the sending if an inappropriate recipient exists. A notification is then provided identifying each inappropriate recipient and the parameters that were triggered. Mechanism to override the stopping of the electronic communication may be provided.

Abstract: A method is provided for facilitating mutual authenticating between a server and a user of a haptic enabled device. The method comprises providing identity information of a user to a server, and in response, providing a haptic feedback output to the user corresponding to the identity information. Further, the user compares the haptic feedback output received from the server to a haptic feedback pattern as predefined by the user, to determine whether the server is authenticated or not.
Abstract: A trunked base station (BS) in a trunked radio system tunes its receiver to the hailing channel and monitors for a hailing signal. A subscriber unit (SU) scans a first set of control channels for a control signal transmitted by the trunked BS. In response to failing to locate a control signal on any one of the first set of control channels, the SU tunes its transmitter to a hailing channel and transmits a hailing signal. In response to receiving a hailing signal from a SU, the BS tunes to a transmit portion of a trunked control channel and transmits a control signal. And the BS subsequently tunes to a receive portion of the trunked control channel and monitors for a registration response. Subsequently, the SU scans a second set of control channels for a control signal transmitted by a BS in the system.
