The image forming apparatus includes a grayscale image creating unit and printing unit. The grayscale image creating unit performs color conversion on the print object, which is included in the print data, to create a grayscale image, the color conversion being appropriate for the color space of the print object. The printing unit performs printing according to the grayscale image.
Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are provided for scheduling resources in Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) communication networks for “direct link” or peer-to-peer communications among stations operating therein so that OFDMA resources can be allocated to a transmitter station for a peer-to-peer communication session with a receiver station such that near-far issues caused by peer-to-peer communication are reduced/avoided. The disclosed technologies can prevent peer-to-peer communication links using different sub-channels within the same time slot from creating near-far issues for other receiver stations that are within communication range.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a drive unit, an image bearing member, a developing unit, a support unit, an urging member, and a switching mechanism. The urging member generates an urging force for pivoting the support unit in an approaching direction in which a peripheral surface of a developing roller is moved toward a peripheral surface of the image bearing member. The switching mechanism switches the support unit between a first position (fitting position) and a second position (releasing position). The support unit includes: a second drive input section disposed coaxially with a pivot shaft and for receiving a rotational drive force from a drive output shaft of the drive unit; and a transmission mechanism for transmitting the rotational drive force to a first drive input section. The rotation direction of the rotational drive force is for rotation in a direction of pivoting the support unit in the approaching direction.
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a color conversion processing unit, a modulation difference creating unit, a color value modulating unit, and an output unit. The color conversion processing unit performs color conversion from an input color value of a target image to a corresponding output color value to obtain a tentative output color value. The modulation difference creating unit creates modulation differences. The modulation differences include combinations that are obtained by either setting or not setting a value equivalent to the minimum resolution of the tentative output color value for each color component of the tentative output color value. The color value modulating unit performs modulation on the tentative output color value by adding or subtracting a modulation difference selected at random to or from the tentative output color value. The output unit outputs the target image according to the color value obtained after modulation.
Abstract: A multifunction peripheral (MFP) transmits read data (user identification information) obtained by a reader to a user-manager server device via a network. The user-manager server device specifies a data format of the read data, converts the data format into another data format to specify a user ID corresponding to the read data, performs a user authentication using the user ID, and transmits authorization information corresponding to a logged-in user. Further, the MFP receives the identification information corresponding to the logged-in user by a user authentication method specified by authentication setting data, and transmits the identification information to the user-manager server device. The authentication setting data is updated by the master authentication data stored in the user-manager server device. The user-manager server device performs the user authentication using the identification information, and transmits the authorization information corresponding to the logged-in user.
Abstract: Modules include ASIC modules for printing and ASIC modules for the scanner. A permission time slot, in which a bus request for inter-buffer memory data transfer is permitted, is allocated to each of a first module group including the ASIC modules for printing and a second module group including the ASIC modules for the scanner, in each of a first multi-operation in which print and image scan functions are operated in parallel and a second multi-operation in which copy and image scan functions are operated in parallel. The permission time slot is defined so that a value obtained by dividing the permission time slot allocated to the first module group by the permission time slot allocated to the second module group is larger in the first multi-operation than in the second multi-operation.

Abstract: Before hibernating a computing device (102), system software components (116) are notified of an upcoming hibernation process. The notifications are conveyed through an application program interface (API) (114). At least a portion of the system software components (116) can perform one or more pre-hibernation activities to place that system software component (116) in a ready-to-resume state. Each system software component indicates when it is ready for hibernation. Responsive to receiving the indication from each of the system software components (116), the hibernation process can complete. The completed hibernation process creates a snapshot (122) in nonvolatile memory. The snapshot (122) saves state information (124) for each of the system software components (116). The state information (124) is for the ready-to-resume state of the system software components (116).
Abstract: Some embodiments an infusion pump system can provide a suggested bolus dosage based on particular parameters (e.g., the user's recent blood glucose characteristics, food intake data, an amount of insulin already delivered to the user which has not yet acted on the user, or other factors).
