  • Patent number: 9602100
Abstract: The invention relates generally to downhole measurement tools having a regulated voltage power supply and methods of use thereof. The downhole measurement tools are associated with electrical submersible pumps for providing a stabilization technique for a five (5) volt power supply over a wide temperature range. A voltage regulator circuit for the downhole measurement tools has a temperature dependent resistance to adjust the feedback of the regulated voltage to compensate for the temperature coefficient effects of the other components in the regulator circuit.

  • Patent number: 9598234
Abstract: Systems and methods for efficiently collecting and disposing waste from disparate locations within a facility, the method including coupling a series of empty waste receptacles to a tow vehicle and transporting the receptacles to a first location. At the first location, identifying a first full waste receptacle and exchanging it with one of the empty receptacles coupled to the vehicle. The full waste receptacle and remaining empty receptacles are thereafter transported via the tow vehicle to a second location, where a second full waste receptacle is exchanged with one of the remaining empty receptacles. Thereafter, the first and second full waste receptacles are transported to a waste processing location. In some embodiments, the process may be repeated until all the empty waste receptacles on the vehicle have been exchanged with full waste receptacles, at which point the vehicle transports the full waste receptacles to the waste processing location.

  • Patent number: 9598274
Abstract: A system and method for distributing fuel, managing fuel transactions, and determining fuel pricing. The system includes a fuel tank and dispensing systems connected thereto for serving customers. The dispensing systems include a meter measuring a volume of dispensed fuel and a data subsystem that transmits transaction data for fueling transactions completed during a first period. A tank gauge measures an ending volume of fuel at the end of the first period. A management system uses the transaction data to generate a usage report and invoice for the customers based on fuel usage during the first period. The management system further monitors the gauge and determines a price for the ending volume of fuel and a variance based on the measured ending volume of fuel and an expected volume. The variance is used to determine a second price for fueling transactions completed during a second period following the first period.

  • Patent number: 9593885
Abstract: An air-cooled heat exchange system includes a heat exchanger and an axial fan assembly. The heat exchanger has a heat exchange surface area. The axial fan assembly has a propeller-type impeller rotatably supported within an annular housing. The annular housing defines an air passageway from an air inlet end of the housing, across the impeller, and to an air outlet end of the housing. Rotation of the impeller within the annular housing causes air to flow into the air inlet end of the housing, along the air passageway, and out the air outlet of the housing. The axial fan assembly also has a wind-turning vane assembly extending beyond the air inlet end of the annular housing.

  • Publication number: 20170066592
Abstract: A system includes an automated guided vehicle (AGV). A loading table is positioned on the AGV. The loading table is configured and sized to hold more than one storage container. A frame extends from the AGV. A robotic arm is mounted to the frame. In one form, the frame includes a gantry that moves relative to the rest of the AGV. Alternatively or additionally, the robotic arm is able to move relative to the gantry. By holding more than one storage container, the AGV facilitates automatic batch picking or placing of items. The gantry increases the degrees of freedom of movement of the robotic arm.

  • Publication number: 20170058550
Abstract: A fastener for fastening parts together. The fastener has a shaft, a head and movable members that spring outwardly from the shaft to firmly capture the parts between the members and the head upon insertion of the fastener into aligned holes in the parts. No threading step is necessary. The movable members may be retractable into the shaft to facilitate insertion into holes corresponding in size to the shaft. The members may have a contact surface sloping away from the head and forming a tapered space between the members and the head so that the outward spring bias tends to reduce the space and maintain tightness of the joint. The fastener may be operatively deployed by a single insertion step.

  • Patent number: 9581274
Abstract: A portable assembly for securing a plastic fitting to a plastic pipe by employing fusion or thermal sealing is disclosed. The assembly is secured to the outer circumference of a plastic pipe at a desired location. The assembly can be secured at any longitudinal and lateral position along a plastic pipe. A heater heats both the pipe and the fitting to the point where they begin to melt. The heater is then removed and the fitting is pressed onto the surface of the pipe, thus fusing the fitting to the pipe. After cooling, the assembly is removed and the surface of the pipe within the interior of the fitting is drilled or removed. This now enables fluid within the pipe to be sent to the fitting and onto distribution lines which are connected to the fitting.

  • Patent number: 9579801
Abstract: Disclosed is a tactile sensing and integrated vision system that surmounts problems of existing systems. The tactile sensing skin can be formed into any shape, size, or form factor, including large areas. Computer-implemented algorithms can detect position-orientation and force-torque at landmark points for a given object set. The result is a modular sensing system that is highly scalable in terms of price, quantity, size and applications. Such skin technology and associated software can comprise a sensing package that integrates tactile and visual data with accompanying software for state estimation, situational awareness, and automatic control of machinery. The addition of tactile data can serve to constrain and/or augment visual pose estimation methods as well as provide pose estimation to visually occluded objects.

  • Patent number: 9580899
Abstract: Applicant's underground storm-pod structure is directed to a system for collecting and utilizing storm-water. A pod structure includes at least one pod member. This pod member's structure is defined by sidewall members, end flanges, sidewall interfacing members, an upper section base member, reinforcing members, and a slab member. The sidewall member and the end flange form an opening. A retention chamber formed within the pod member is structured to store liquid. Weep holes formed through the sidewall members permit liquid to flow between a partially-elliptically-shaped pathway and a corresponding chamber. The liquid retention chamber can be in further communication with an outlet mechanism, which is itself in communication with an external environment. In one embodiment, adjacent pod members are fixedly coupled with respect to each other by coupling corresponding flange members.
