  • Patent number: 8882432
Abstract: A robotic automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) mixed pallet build system includes a rack that includes two or more verticals levels upon which items are stored. The system includes a three-dimensional robotic AS/RS that includes a carriage, robot arm, vertical lift, and horizontal propulsion system. The items from the rack are loaded upon the carriage to create a pallet. The robot arm is configured to stack the items from the racks onto the pallet. The vertical lift is configured to move the carriage vertically between the vertical levels of the racks. The horizontal propulsion system is configured to move the carriage horizontally along the rack so that the carriage is able to service the entire length of the rack. The three-dimensional robotic AS/RS also includes a stretch wrapper that progressively secures the layers of items on the pallet to prevent the items from falling off the pallet.

  • Patent number: 8882679
Abstract: A neural monitoring system for detecting an induced response of a muscle to a stimulus provided within an intracorporeal treatment area of a human subject includes a mechanical sensor configured to be placed in mechanical communication with the muscle and to generate a mechanomyography output signal corresponding to a sensed mechanical movement of the muscle, and a receiver in communication with the mechanical sensor. The receiver is configured to: receive the mechanomyography output signal from the mechanical sensor; compute a time derivative of the sensed muscle movement from the mechanomyography output signal; compare the computed time derivative to a threshold; and indicate that the sensed mechanical movement of the muscle was induced by the provided intracorporeal stimulus if the computed time derivative exceeds the threshold.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a Charging Condition Matrix (hereinafter “CCM”) is created and maintained. The CCM has one or more conditions and corresponding rates dictated by the terms and conditions of a contract. A user may utilize the CCM with a revenue and expense management application to compute data-driven fees based on attributes of the inbound data. Computed fees may subsequently be used in the processing or revenue, expenses, or both in the application.

  • Publication number: 20140327746
Abstract: Real-time 3D information may be collected about the shape of an object on which an industrial process is applied. By using the position and orientation information provided by the robot controller to integrate the 3D information provided by the sensor, improved volume information for shapes presenting few features, for example, a slowly varying wall, may be provided. In addition, the total error in the reconstructed volume may be independent from the number of views because the position and orientation information for any view need not rely on the position and orientation information of the previous views.

Abstract: A method for purchasing a domain name registration. A user conducts a search to determine if a domain name is available. If it is already registered, the user can make an anonymous offer through a third party to the present registrant to purchase the domain name registration. The offer is certified by the third party by verifying that a financial instrument provided by the user has available funds that are at least sufficient to pay the offer amount for the domain name.

  • Publication number: 20140327449
Abstract: When a poor meter to socket connection occurs, there is the potential for arcing to develop which can result in a hot socket and a fire. Disclosed herein are methods for a meter to detect the occurrence of an arc condition in the socket by analyzing the RF noise on the channels of the communication spectrum used by the meter to communicate within its metering system. For example, by keeping a record of the normal background noise and looking for a broadband increase in the noise on all channels, arc detection can be achieved. Meter quantities such as temperature, current, voltage, and harmonic content may also be used in a standalone manner or in combination with broadband RF noise to detect an arc condition. A disconnect switch within the meter can be opened to remove the arc fault.

  • Patent number: 8880417
Abstract: An Expense Verification System (EVS) checks for fraud/errors in reimbursement requests. The EVS stores rules for reimbursement in accordance with company policies. The EVS receives travel reservation records for auditing, parses the records to identify a reference number, and then obtains from a trusted source travel record data for a corresponding reference number. Trusted data is compared to company policy-specific rules to determine compliance. In one embodiment, an extracted fare basis identifier is compared to lists of permitted and/or prohibited fare basis codes in the rules to determine compliance. In another embodiment, data is extracted from acknowledgment receipt records from a trusted data source and extracted booking and travel dates are compared to the rules to determine compliance. The EVS issues an alert in the event of non-compliance.
