  • Patent number: 9438766
Abstract: An information processing apparatus (1) includes a photographing portion (8), an authentication processing portion (91), and a layout processing portion (92). The authentication processing portion (91) determines, based on a photographed image obtained from the photographing portion (8), whether a face image of a person is included in the photographed image, and upon determining that a face image of a person is included, performs an authentication process of the person based on the face image of the person. The layout processing portion (92), when the authentication processing portion (91) has successfully authenticated the person, determines whether a layout specification image specifying a page layout is included in the photographed image, and upon determining that a layout specification image is included in the photographed image, creates a composite image by laying out one or more material images in accordance with the page layout specified by the layout specification image.

  • Patent number: 9434560
Abstract: A holding member of a sheet feeder includes a locking member engageable with a part of a pinion gear and holds the pinion gear and a sensor member. The holding member is detachably attachable to the sheet storage portion. The pinion gear and a pair of rack members are meshed with the holding member attached to a sheet storage portion. The holding member holds the pinion gear movably in an axial direction of the rotary shaft so that the pinion gear is displaceable between a first position where the rotation of the pinion gear is regulated and a second position where the pinion gear is rotatable. The pinion gear is located at the first position with the holding member detached from the sheet storage portion and located at the second position with the holding member attached to the sheet storage portion.

  • Patent number: 9437007
Abstract: A binarizing section generates binary image data representing a binary image from raster image data representing a raster image. A white-pixel ratio determining section determines, based on the binary image data, a white pixel ratio for each line of the binary image and a position of each of lines having a white pixel ratio equal to or greater than a predetermined first threshold among the lines of the binary image, and also determines a white pixel ratio for an entirety of the binary image. An image-type determining section determines that the raster image is a photographic image when the white pixel ratio of the entirety of the binary image is equal to or less than a predetermined second threshold, and that the raster image includes a text image when the lines having a white pixel ratio equal to or greater than the first threshold appear cyclically in the binary image.

  • Patent number: 9434290
Abstract: Locking mechanism assemblies are provided for retaining a slide-room of a recreational vehicle in a retracted position. An exemplary assembly has a strut member extending between the slide-room and a wall of the recreational vehicle. The strut member is pivotable between a first position and a second position corresponding to an extended position and a retracted position, respectively, of the slide-room. The assembly further includes a guide member coupled to the strut member and movable therewith such that pivoting motion of the strut member between the first position and the second position causes corresponding linear motion of the guide member along a guide between a first position and a second position. The strut member applies a compressive force to the slide-room and a vehicle wall adjacent the slide-room to inhibit movement of the slide-room when the slide-room is in the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 9435726
Abstract: Apparatus are described for measuring the characteristics of colloidal particles suspended in transparent media by Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and Depolarized Dynamic Light Scattering (DDLS) into regions where conventional measurements are difficult or impractical. Matching the diameter of an illuminating beam and an intersecting diameter of a field stop image extends measurements into regions that include concentrated turbid suspensions that frequently appear so visually opaque that multiple scattering typically gives a falsely low estimate of particle size.

  • Patent number: 9438497
Abstract: In a method of measuring packet loss, a flow of packets is identified at first and second locations in a network. The packets in the flow are counted at each of the first and second locations to provide first and second packet counts, respectively. When a trigger packet in the flow is identified at each of the first and second locations, the first and second packet counts are latched to provide latched first and second packet counts corresponding to same packets in the flow. The latched first and second packet counts are compared to measure packet loss between the first and second locations.

  • Patent number: 9438517
Abstract: In a method of identifying matching packets at different locations in a network, a first plurality of packets is received at a first location in the network, and a first subset thereof is selected in accordance with a filter. A second plurality of packets is received at a second location in the network, and a second subset thereof is selected in accordance with the same filter. Each packet in the first and second subsets is parsed to extract invariant header fields from an outermost IP header inwards, until a minimal set of invariant header fields is obtained for that packet, or until it is determined that a minimal set is not obtainable for that packet. A packet signature is computed from the minimal set for each packet having a minimal set, and the packet signatures are compared to identify matching packets in the first and second subsets.
