  • Patent number: 10595970
Abstract: Methods and dental prosthetics for providing soft tissue adhesion to a temporary healing abutment, or other dental prosthetic (e.g., temporary or permanent). Existing prosthetics generally do not provide any significant adhesion of the soft tissue surrounding the prosthetic, to the outer surface of the prosthetic itself. Because of the presence of gaps between such structures, or simple non-adhesion even where the structures may touch (but be free and unattached relative to one another), there is a tendency for pathogenic microbes to enter into such space between the structures, and for the soft gingival tissue to recede, particularly in patients with “thin” type periodontal tissue. The present disclosure provides materials and/or surface treatment (e.g., texturing) that ensures good bonding between the prosthetic and the soft tissue, reducing risk of infection, and reducing undesirable gingival recession surrounding the prosthetic anchored on a dental implant.

  • Patent number: 10597674
Abstract: In the present invention, HPPD polypeptides and plants containing them showing a full tolerance against one or more HPPD inhibitor herbicides belonging to various chemical classes are described. A set of mutant HPPD polypeptides have been designed which have either no or only a significantly reduced affinity to HPPD inhibitor herbicides and, at the same time, the rate of dissociation of the HPPD inhibitors of the mutant HPPD polypeptide is increased to such an extent that the HPPD inhibitors no longer act as slow-binding or slow, tight-binding inhibitors but, instead of this, have become fully reversible inhibitors. In particular, isolated polynucleotides encoding mutant HPPD polypeptides conferring tolerance to HPPD inhibitor herbicides belonging to various chemical classes are provided. Additionally, amino acid sequences corresponding to the polynucleotides are encompassed.

  • Patent number: 10600067
Abstract: Techniques are described for iteratively adjusting data processing decision results in accordance with rules. In some implementations, the applied rules may be data ethics rules associated with particular demographic groups, such as users in a particular geographic location, users in a particular age range, and so forth. The rules may describe the manner in which data, such as data that describes or identifies individuals, is collected, stored, analyzed, applied, manipulated, and/or destroyed. The various stages of data handling may be described as a data supply chain, and a set of rules may apply to the handling of data at one or more stages of the data supply chain. The rules may enforce data privacy considerations and/or other types of constraints on data handling.

  • Patent number: 10602071
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an imaging device and a control method that achieve low electric power consumption. A light source is of a wavelength received by an OPD pixel which is a pixel that detects light exposure, and its light emission is controlled by a PC or the like. The OPD pixel is a pixel specialized to detect a brightness of an imaging environment, and converts a received light amount to a current value, without electric power consumption, by utilizing photoelectric conversion. A detector detects a change (light intensity, light reception time, blinking pattern, etc.) of the current value of the OPD pixel, and upon detection, issues an operation instruction to another device (not depicted) or a solid state imaging device, by supplying a detection result to a control unit. The present disclosure can be applied to the solid state imaging device that includes the OPD pixel, for example.

  • Patent number: 10601655
Abstract: A method of dynamically configuring a multiplexer that can support more frequency bands than a traditional multiplexer is disclosed. For example, the reconfigurable multiplexer can handle frequencies of several hundred megahertz up to 10 gigahertz. Further, certain implementations of the method enable the multiplexer to reduce or eliminate frequency dead zones that exist with traditional multiplexers. The reconfigurable multiplexer includes a filter bank capable of supporting a number of frequency bands and a bypass circuit that enables the multiplexer to support a variety of sets of frequencies. For instance, unlike traditional multiplexers, the reconfigurable multiplexer can support both frequency bands with relatively narrow spacing and frequency bands with relatively wide spacing. Further, the inclusion of the bypass circuit enables the reduction or elimination of dead zones between supported frequencies.

  • Patent number: 10597131
Abstract: A method for operating a ship propulsion system. A setpoint rotational speed is determined for a propeller shaft and a setpoint pitch angle for an adjustable propeller on a control side based on an adjustable propeller characteristic diagram and an operator. An engine is determined based on a ship's engine characteristic diagram and the setpoint rotational speed for the propeller shaft. An actual engine operating point is determined as a function of a measured actual rotational speed and a measured actual torque, so that when the drive power is constant, the set-point rotational speed for the propeller shaft and the pitch angle for the adjustable propeller can be varied while reducing fuel consumption of the ship's engine and, when this is possible, the setpoint rotational speed for the propeller shaft, the setpoint pitch angle for the adjustable propeller and the setpoint operating point of the ship's engine are adapted.
