Abstract: A drafting system for a spinning machine, which drafting system has a drafting system unit, and to such a drafting system unit, having at least one weighting arm, which can be pivoted between an operating position and an open position by a repositioning device. In order to provide a drafting system and a drafting system unit for a drafting system for a spinning machine, the drafting system unit having a particularly simple design and permitting user-friendly operation, it is provided that the at least one weighting arm is connected to a retaining rod for conjoint rotation, which retaining rod is mounted on a retaining rod holder for rotation about the longitudinal axis of the retaining rod by the repositioning device.

Abstract: A refrigeration appliance and method for operation are provided. The appliance includes a cabinet and a door. The cabinet includes a controller, a first communications device, and a magnetic device. the door includes an energy source, a first switch, a second switch, a second communications device, and a user interface device. The second switch is operably coupled to the second communications device and the user interface device. The second communications device is in selective operable communication with the first communications device. The first switch is configured to operably couple the energy source to the second switch to allow energy to flow to the second switch, the second communications device, and the user interface device when the door is open. The first switch is configured to discontinue energy flow to the second switch when the door is closed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an active substance for sewage treatment and dewatering of solid domestic wastes landfills. Besides, the present invention also relates to a method for producing this active substance. More specifically, the present invention relates to use of this active substance for sewage treatment and dewatering of solid domestic wastes landfills to remove organic impurities, organogenic elements, solid and radioactive metals.

Abstract: Apparatuses for physically securing a portable electronic device to a tabletop of a display table or to another display surface are disclosed. In an embodiment an apparatus includes a main body with left, right, front, and upper arms that are retractable and extendable relative to the main body. A first circular gear engages the left arm and the right arm. A second circular gear engages the lower arm and the upper arm. A lock mechanism is provided to lock the first circular gear to the second circular gear and prevent independent rotation of the first circular gear and the second circular gear.

Abstract: An automated transforming tooling system apparatus and method for shuttling a workpiece to and from an industrial operation. The system includes a workstation for complementarily engaging and securing the workpiece, and at least one holder removably secures at least on end effector tool to the workstation. At least one transfer bar is movably positioned with respect to the workstation. At least one automated transforming tooling assembly is connected to the transfer bar and has a plurality of links adjustably connected by motorized joints to automatically position the automated transforming tooling assembly. An automated tool changer is connected to the automated transforming tooling assembly and releasably engages the end effector tool between a disengaged position, wherein the end effector tool is disengaged from the automated tool changer, and an engaged position, wherein the end effector tool is engaged by the automated tool changer.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method of user authentication is provided. The method comprises combining, by a computer system, a user recurrent neural network with a system recurrent neural network to form a unique combined recurrent neural network. The user recurrent neural network is configured to generate a unique user key, and the system recurrent neural network is configured to generate a system key. The computer system inputs a predetermined input into the combined recurrent neural network, and the combined recurrent neural network generates a unique combined key from the input, wherein the combined key differs from both the user key and system key. The computer system then associates the combined key with a unique access authorization to authenticate a user.

Abstract: A system for biologically treating wastewater comprising a rotating drum disposed within a tank. Biofilm carriers are contained in the drum. One or more hollow tube aerators are secured inside the drum to a perforated wall that forms a part of the drum. As the drum is rotated within the tank, the mixing of the biofilm carriers with the wastewater therein and the action of the hollow tubes aerates the wastewater in the rotating drum.

Abstract: Springs can provide energy return and have a conductivity that changes in relation to an amount of strain or deformation of the spring. In some embodiments, the springs are made by multi-material 3D printing (additive manufacturing). Such springs made by multi-material 3D printing may include a first material that is electrically non-conductive and a second material that electrically conductive. The extent of deformation or strain of the spring may be determined or estimated by measuring the conductivity or resistivity of the electrically conductive material portion of the spring.

Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus capable of appropriately setting and adjusting the order of printing jobs by changing an internal priority. An instruction acquiring unit presents a job list in which a plurality of jobs is arranged in printing order, and it acquires a change instruction of the printing order. An internal priority setting unit sets, based on the change instruction acquired by the instruction acquiring unit, an internal priority that is different from set priority specified for each of the plurality of jobs. A list adjusting unit adjusts the printing order of an adding job according to the internal priority set by the internal priority setting unit and reflects adjustment in the job list. An image forming unit outputs each of the plurality of jobs in the printing order based on the job list adjusted by the list adjusting unit.

Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a battery cell mounts a battery cell stack to a frame that includes a base cover and a pair of side covers respectively extending from both ends of the base cover. The apparatus includes a support member to support the battery cell stack, a roller member around which a film fixed to the support member is wound, and a film guide member configured to move the film into the frame. When the film guide member moves the film into the frame, the support member and the frame move toward each other, and the battery cell stack is movable along the film to be mounted to the frame.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for identifying a target entity that a user intends to refer to based on input that may include only a partial name of the entity. A system may receive a user's entity search query, which may include a partial entity name, then may determine initial candidate matching entities and associated name match scores for each of the initial candidate matching entities relative to the input string, such as using string matching or fuzzy matching techniques. The system may apply a probability match model to generate an overall match score for individual ones of the initial candidate matching entities, then may generate a response to the entity search query that includes information regarding one or more of the initial candidate matching entities with an overall match score exceeding a threshold.

Abstract: A framework for gantry alignment of a multimodality medical scanner. First image data of a non-radioactive structure is acquired by using intrinsic radiation emitted by scintillator crystals of detectors in a first gantry of the multimodality medical scanner. Second image data of the non-radioactive structure is acquired using a second gantry for another modality of the multimodality medical scanner. Image reconstruction may be performed based on the first and second image data of the non-radioactive structure to generate first and second reconstructed image volumes. A gantry alignment transformation that aligns the first and second reconstructed image volumes may then be determined.

Abstract: Advanced Distribution Management Systems not generally optimize over the entire feeder because there are few high-fidelity distribution circuit models and real-time distribution-connected sensors are rare. The limited observability at the distribution level makes it difficult to globally optimize distribution operations and issue control setpoints to power systems equipment or Distributed Energy Resources (DER) to perform grid-support services. For example, setpoints can be issued to DER based on results from an optimization module that incorporates a static or time-series feeder simulation. Feeder simulation initial conditions are populated with photovoltaic (PV) and load forecasts, state estimation results, and/or digital twin measurements or state output. The real-time (RT) digital twin runs a model of the feeder to generate state estimation pseudo-measurements since there are limited live feeder measurements.

The connector including a first part and a second part, one of which is suspended from the hoisting apparatus and the other secured to the load. Each of the first and second parts includes corresponding curved surface that enclose a cylindrical volume. The curved surface of the second part being coaxial but spaced from one another, wherein one of the first part or the second part is provided with a plurality of pins which are spaced around a circumference of and extend radially from the curved surface of the one of the first part or the second part. The curved surface of the other one of the first part or the second part is provided with an indexing channel and a plurality of entry channels.
