  • Publication number: 20230004163
Abstract: A traffic planning method for controlling a plurality of vehicles, wherein each vehicle occupies one node in a shared set of planning nodes and is movable to other nodes along predefined edges between pairs of the nodes in accordance with a finite set of motion commands. In the method, initial node occupancies of the vehicles are obtained, and a sequence of motion commands are determined by optimizing a state-action value function which depends on node occupancies s and the motion commands a to be given. The state-action value function includes a command-dependent term, which is updated in each iteration based on a reward function, and a command-independent term, which penalizes node occupancies with too small inter-vehicle gaps and is exempted from said updating.

  • Patent number: 11544512
Abstract: A hybrid ink limit is applied during the creation of an ICC profile. The hybrid ink limit takes into account a percentage total area coverage (TAC) ink limit and a volume-based ink limit. The percentage TAC ink limit is specified using an input from an operator. The volume-based ink limit is retrieved based upon the media for the ICC profile. Both ink limits are applied to primary color combinations for color patches to be printed in a test chart used to capture measurement data to create the ICC profile. A combination of primary colors at exceeds either ink limit is adjusted to meet the ink limit. The adjusted combination is used in the test chart to generate the measurement data for the ICC profile. After creation of the ICC profile, the volume-based ink limit is applied to the ICC profile color combinations to identify those combinations still over the ink limit.

  • Patent number: 11544026
Abstract: A printing system includes a printing device having a digital front end (DFE) and at least one client device that sends print jobs to the printing device. A print job may include different components needed to completely print a document, such as a cover and block of pages for a book. The DFE identifies the different components within the print job and provides tight integration to coordinate the printing of the different components. Rules are used to identify the different components. Once identified, the DFE can route the components accordingly to different output bins or different printing devices as well as provide separate print instructions for the components. Rules also are used to define job batching within the printing devices.

  • Patent number: 11544132
Abstract: A CCI (I3C SDR) processing section determines status of an index when requested to be accessed by an I3C master for a read operation. An error handling section then controls an I3C slave 13 to detect occurrence of an error based on the status of the index and to neglect all communication until communication is restarted or stopped by the I3C master, the I3C slave 13 being further controlled to send a NACK response when performing acknowledge processing on a signal sent from the I3C master. This technology can be applied to the I3C bus, for example.

  • Patent number: 11546079
Abstract: An optical end terminal in which protection switching is implemented by using (i) the optical data receiver thereof for detecting a path failure and (ii) the optical data transmitter thereof for signaling the detected path failure to the protection-switching circuit. In an example embodiment, the optical data receiver is configured to detect a path failure based on the presence of certain data-recovery errors. The optical data transmitter is operatively connected to the optical data receiver and configured to generate an in-band dither tone of a predetermined frequency in response to such failure detection. The protection-switching circuit is configured to (i) detect dither tones in the optical signals passing therethrough and (ii) connect the optical data receiver to the protection path instead of the working path in response to detecting the dither tone of the predetermined frequency.

  • Patent number: 11543474
Abstract: A method is provided for sensing a magnetic field in a magnetic gradiometer of the kind in which pump light and light constituting an optical carrier traverse first and second atomic vapor cells that contain host atoms and that are separated from each other by a known distance. According to such method, the host atoms are prepared in a coherent superposition of two quantum states that differ in energy by an amount that is sensitive to an ambient magnetic field. Modulation of the optical carrier in the respective cells gives rise to sidebands that interfere to generate a beat frequency indicative of the magnetic field gradient. The host atoms are prepared at least in a mode that allows measurement of ambient magnetic field components perpendicular to the axis of the pump light. In such mode, the host atoms are spin-polarized by pump light while subjected to a controlled magnetic field directed parallel to the pump beam, and then the controlled magnetic field is adiabatically extinguished.

  • Patent number: 11544025
Abstract: A color printing system includes a printing device and other components that use color printing resources, such as calibration and ICC profiles, to complete color printing operations. These color printing resources are used for a large number of paper types stored in a paper catalog. The paper types can be further placed into paper groups within the paper catalog. The paper groups may be formed by assigning new papers into the paper catalog to those having paper types with existing calibration data and ICC profiles. These relationships are shown in a paper catalog map. The print shop can use the paper catalog map for selling paper types, providing different capabilities for paper types, and other information. The paper catalog map also may be used to select a paper type from a primary paper type and a secondary paper type.
